Some advantages of a diverse team are perspectives from different backgrounds that might not have been thought of otherwise, the different timezones means there is usually at least one listener on at any given time, and having people from diferent cultures helps us expand our knowledge.

Drives innovation – The availability of different perspectives in the team would enable us to be more creative and innovative in the things we do, be it in active listening or problem solving situations.

Help more people – We would also be able to reach out to more people from all over the world and be able to support them no matter what country or time zone they are in.

Learning from the diversity – Learning from the different cultures and practices can be enlightening, even adding to our own skill sets and in turn, this wider range of skills acquired can fuel our creativity and productivity as a whole.

We must always remember that it’s never good to judge others based on stereotypes and to always be respectful of other cultures and beliefs, even if it may contradict our own.

Be mindful of schedules and availability & Consider time zones
We also need to be aware of the fact that people from different cultures may have different celebrations and as such, may not be available during the same times that we are. Time zones especially need to be taken into account when it comes to scheduling meetings – try different times and see what works best for the majority!

Be mindful of second language learners
Since we are a diverse team of people from different countries, we need to understand that not all of us has learnt English as their first language and some might even still be in the process of learning it. As such, it would help a lot for us to use simpler words or sentences, to provide context or rephrase messages more simply, be forgiving and to provide constructive feedback.

Diversity is a boon for any growing community as it welcomes different cultural perspectives, ideas and thoughts. It brings in different experiences and movements makes way for dialogue and abundance of creativity.

Respecting one’s cultural ideas and thoughts and not having a negative say about any opinions that are being laid out and showing interest in their culture and being supportive of any comments that are being said.

Diversity has so many advantages! More points of view means more understanding and people who can give support on topics. Also, it helps with equality and representation so everyone feels welcomed.

Diversity.. what’s not to love about it :). A diverse team is like an all-inclusive group where everyone is accepted regardless of place, age, culture, gender. The benefits are endless. Since everyone has different experiences and is unique, the ideas that come from such group discussions will be great. We can find an array of solutions as each one of us will have a different perspective on a particular problem.

How can we be respectful of different cultures on 7 Cups?

That’s actually pretty simple. We recognize that each person is a unique individual and we accept everyone for who they are. We respect them for their individual preferences and beliefs. And if we are not sure about something, it’s always better to ask and clarify, rather than making an assumption.

As a global community, It is no possible to understand everyone out there unless we dive deeper into their cultures. Having a diverse team ensures that compatibility is universal in regards to the different cultures. There is always someone present to attend a person in need. Having a diverse team also makes sure that we learn about different aspects and become aware of the other beautiful cultures out there.

We should try to understand different cultures and align our help with it. We should be caring and maintain a positive attitude towards it. Furthermore we should try our best to learn new things from different people out there. We should keep expanding our horizons.

Cultural differences can cause us to support different causes and have contradicting beliefs. Know that it is okay for someone to think differently. If there exists a contradiction in terms of individual beliefs when it comes to a task, work together to reach a mutual agreement or delegate the task to someone who feels comfortable doing so. Different countries and cultures are associated with certain traits. These stereotypes are often outdated and do not apply to all individuals belonging to the specific culture/country.

1. Considerate of some special days/holidays they have and understand they may need some space and time to enjoy their time.

2. Be respectful of their time and not demand too much on them. Sometimes the timezones may not be as compatible, in that case, it's okay to work out a different alternative.

3. Don't believe in stereotypes or at least don't judge someone on the basis of that. We all have been fed a lot of things by people who don't understand certain groups of people nicely. It's best to not believe everything someone says and instead be curious to know about a person and their culture from them.

4. Be mindful that English is not everyone's first language. So it's possible that there may be some more clarification needed at times. Learn to respect them and be willing to help them out if they don't understand something right away. It's not my first language either and people have been very kind to understand that for me!

You can't give your life more time, so give the time you have, more life.

3. By meeting and interacting with different people from different countries with having diverse cultures and beliefs makes us to learn new things and moreover it helps us to understand each other by respecting and believing each other's traditions and beliefs.

@Heather225 a diverse team has a diverse amount of benefits a few are 1. a diverse team means people come from different timezones so there is support available at all times 2. Cultural differences and different perspectives can motivate creativity and productivity. 3.We can learn about different cultures and create a new set of skills. we can be supportive by accepting everyone's cultures and beliefs and ending stigma. I have literally had members ask me when the next blast will be and calling me a terrorist because of my religious beliefs and it hurts to have to go through that
