Welcome to our first course in the Leadership Development Program! I am very excited to get this going! Please find the course description below!

Course Description: You have personal gifts and strengths that can help you in life and also help other people. Identifying, amplifying, and deliberately building those strengths enables you to have a better personal life, professional life, and also enables you to more effectively serve others in our community. People sometimes make the mistake of focusing too much on their weaknesses. This can help, but deliberately building your strengths will get you much further in life and in your career. This course provides links to personality testing (MBTI, Big 5) where you can learn to identify your personality style and strengths. It helps you understand how to match your strengths to roles in the 7 Cups community and enables you to find a career path that will be fulfilling. Join other new leaders in individual and group learning exercises.

Activity: Please introduce yourself and let us (if comfortable) know where you are from and a recent book or movie you have enjoyed!

Please also reply to 3 of your peers in this thread with encouraging or supportive words!

Hi y'all! My name is Elise and I'm excited about getting more involved with 7cups. I'm planning on going back to school to become a therapist, and am trying to get as much experience as possible in the meantime. I just started as a listener, and thought this would be a great opportunity to expand my understanding of 7cups' process, I'm also interested in doing the internship program :)

I'm currently reading "Maybe You Should Talk To Someone" by Lori Gottleib and it's been super interesting to get insight into what it's like to be a therapist. I also recently read "I'm Telling The Truth But I'm Lying" by Bassey Ikpi which was a beautifully written account of struggling with mental illness.

@Heather225

Hello everyone! I'm Affliction and I've been a part of the 7 Cups community for a month and a half now and I'm thoroughly enjoying it here.

I'm a female and I live in the USA. I'm a very private person and I love reading books. Honestly, like most readers I prefer books over movies.

Honestly, I read about one book a day (yes, I'm one of those kinds). However, I've been too busy these days so I've taken a break from my time consuming hobby.

The last book I enjoyed was You Don't Know Me by Sophia Bennett.

Hi! My name is Amal and I absolutely love helping other people and knowing that I have made a difference in someone's life. I know what it is like to have no one to talk to, and I do not want others to feel what I have. This is why I have joined this amazing organization and why I wish to hold a leadership role! In addition, I am currently a double major student in my last year of university in Canada, and I wish to be a physician in the future!
