Can't do this alone

barncat April 4th, 2020

Find myself gravitating back to 7 cups trying to make sense of the new normal. So many life changes in the last 2 years. Wondering if I have the "strength" to wade through this biggest hurdle of global pandemic. Feels like the rug has been pulled out from under me. Looking for balance and especially Patience.

Pondering why I cant move ahead and on with my life. Stuck in such a big rut- wake up too early and ruminate about getting up and facing the day. Seem to have fallen back into a swing shift hours pattern- feel best in the evening- and horrible in the morning. Tired of it- but taking the first step is daunting.

barncat OP July 6th, 2020

Perhaps it is better to spew my worries out rather than hold them inside. Days and days of struggling to move ahead. Discouraged after reaching out for therapy help only to have few contacts this time around. And getting a "constructive criticism" suggestion during one of my darkest days. Not helpful. Who to turn to now. Feeling more and more isolated as tourists come streaming into my community- triggering neighbors to stay away. None of it makes sense to my new persona. How I loved seeing strangers in the past- but now am running the other direction.

Preparing for more pet losses- brought my barncat home today. She was a pampered housecat until several years ago- moved into the barn with the horses nearby. Loved it- was a great mouser- and had the whole place to herself. Unfortunately she is a senior cat- fluffy longhaired who couldnt keep herself groomed. The joke is she got a shave and a haircut- not funny cause now she looks very old and sickly. Deteriorated after her grooming session- and now aware she has a tumor on her jaw- vet didnt discover it until follow up after haircut. Why is it so sad when our animals age and fall ill. At least she can have some special treatment until her time comes- probably very soon.

I'm sorry that your barcat is not well, it sounds like she had a good carefree life full of nice and a whole big place to roam and control. She is luck for the extra attention now and might yet recover some, but will know her worth in the family and go out on top. Blessings, Day🐱

@juliak1968- thank you for the thoughts for Sophie. She passed on peacefully at our local vets on Friday. He was amazingly gentle with her - some of last memories will be how respectful and soothng he rubbed and petted her. We buried her on top of my husband's horses grave. ANd the wonderful news is we adopted a senior dog on Sunday. One door closes and another one opens. Thank you again for all your wonderful messages.

RIP Sophie, My condolences

Sophie had a good life in a beautuful setting. A barn cat through and through, buried now with other beloved animal freinds. What is the senior dogs name? (And breed?)

Many blessings my freind, its the circle of life so we shall see our freinds on another revolution in the future🌷🌷🌷🌷

Hugs and Blessings, Day

@selfconfidentMelon5824- thank you for acknowledging yet another loss in my life. I opened another door and adopted a senior dog two days after my barncat crossed the rainbow bridge. What fun and a whole new experience. Your response meant a lot to me. Take care of yourself- blessings and hugs.
