Can't do this alone
Find myself gravitating back to 7 cups trying to make sense of the new normal. So many life changes in the last 2 years. Wondering if I have the "strength" to wade through this biggest hurdle of global pandemic. Feels like the rug has been pulled out from under me. Looking for balance and especially Patience.
Thanks for the thoughts- my "barncat" wasnt any happier at home. It was amazing how much energy she could rally to hiss and spit at my housecat. So after a couple of days of extra TLC she was returned to her hayshed at the field. Needless to say my housecat let out a big sigh of relief. Now barncat is contentedly back at her perch- Queen of the shed. Loving her canned catfood all to herself again.
Can't do this alone?
I'm so glad your not alone!!!
You're a very important part of our 7cups community
😊👍
Blessings, Day
@juliak1968- I dropped out of 7cups for a couple of months- and boy- following the news was not a good option. Hope you are well.
@barncat
Im doing good, thanks! Glad your back on 7cups, i spend time on every day but just as my consecutive number of days working my path reaches 15 or so i miss by an hour and back down to 1 consecutice day lol
Blessings, Day🌲🌲🎄🌲🌲
@juliak1968- yes, I go in spurts too. I think the most consecutive days ever reached was 7 or 8. The positive support on this site always lightens up my day. Or should i say "Day" brings me a smile. TAke care. Hugs.

Big smiles🤗👍
Just heard a newly coined term- doomscrolling. Guess I am not the only one spending too much time looking up the latest statistics on the covid. Worried about those working in the healthcare field during this crisis. THe general public has NO idea how tough working with PPE all day long can be. And putting yourself and family at risk for acquiring covid- while millions of Americans argue their rights and dont take the simple precaution to wear a mask.
Have a more encouraging prospect in my (our) lives. I succumbed to getting a pandemic puppy. Never had a dog of my own. Fortunate to find a small senior dog that needed to be adopted. What a new experience! Am taking a day at a time- have lots of new things to learn- and introduce him to my world. So I really do not feel so alone at home now- the greeting he gave me this morning was SOOO precious. He was so glad to have me awake and up- bottled energy and joy. For the first time I realized that if the pandemic wasnt disrupting our lives, this wonderful animal would not be in my life.
@barncat Hey :) I was so Sorry to hear about your cat. It's hard when our pets get older. I have two dogs who are getting up in age and having health problems. I know it's inevitable but I really don't like thinking about it.
Congratulations on your rescue though - I think its really great that you opened your home to a senior pup that needs a home. It made me smile to imagine him greeting you in the morning when you wake. :)
@barncat Hi, I'm really sorry the last two years have been so hard for you but let me tell you something. You do have the strength to keep going. Your stronger than you think and I believe in you! Right now you're in a storm but there's sunshine beyond the storm. Keep fighting, keep your strength, you can get through this!
Please feel free to message me if you need or want to talk.
Here for you
@ListenerJennie- so sweet to hear from a new member listener- the last couple days with the new dog has given me hope. Many days wer so bleak these past two years but the wonderful people here have given me amazing support thank you for your offer it takes a lot of strength to be a listener
Today is scheduled online therapist appt. Not sure it is worth the money anymore. Same old lack of motivation- and not getting close to my daily goals. Trying to take one day at a time- and pat myself on the back for small achievements. The pandemic has affected the whole world- and each of us is struggling to plan today and tomorrow with significant changes in our life and plans. Some days are easier than others.
Glad I am able to get signed back on a new computer - my old laptop died
panicking trying to get all my important sites and email up on new desktop-
relieved figured out to log back on to 7 cups- yeah
@barncat Welcome back :)
Been struggling with some "minor" health issues last 6 months. Scary how not feeling well impacts our mental health too,
Finally getting some "expert" medical news - unsettling for me. Now struggling to deal with what might be a permanent change in my physical health. Been so fortunate through the years that nothing limited me in my life. But now- am facing an alteration in health. Really not that large considering how many people deal with chronic pain and major impairments.
Wow- it has been almost 2 months since medical appointment. Taken forever to schedule the next diagnostic test- meanwhile I have made drastic changes to my diet and feeling better. We are what we eat- ha ha. Cancelled my MRI in order to stay home for horse related priorities. My friends reminded me that health should be a priority- oh well. Rescheduled MRI for next monday. I doubt it will be diagnostic. My mental health and emotional well being has been like a roller coaster with these last "dramas". As if all the losses of the past year, retiring and the pandemic werent enough. BUt had a great day yesterday- happy horses- got almost 5 tons of hay delivered and stacked in the barn. Didn't realize how much it was weighing on me- feel a lot lighter having their good food in the hayloft.
