@SleepyShyCat heeey! These are my cats! Chester and Pita!
Chester is five years old. He's got a ton of superficial health issues and one very dog like personality. He's whines and complains a lot and never fails to voice his issues. He's perfect. He's my support animal. I was to adopt a dog, the process failed and I found him. I'd choose Chester all over every single day.
This is Pita! She's a quarantine baby. Very precious... She likes wet food and me. She literally has the softest cat personality ever. 10/10 good girl. I found her when she was smaller than an average palm. Her ears were huge... but she grew into them. I wasn't supposed to adopt her, but oops. Love happened.
@Random28
Aww, Chester and pita are adorable π₯Ί thanks for sharing with me! I guess in the end you did end up with the 'dog' you needed, just cat shaped lol. He sounds like the best boy. And pita is so lovely too! I agree, 10/10 for both of them
@SleepyShyCat
Nooo no reason to thank me. I love sharing all about them. An X social page (coughs) is full of them to the point I'm teased I have a "fan account" for my cats. Hahahah.
Yes though, you're absolutely right. In the end, I ended up with exactly the soul I needed.
@Random28
When you have cats, it always turns into a fan account for them lol. Which is exactly what they deserve π
@SleepyShyCat thank you! I've been saying the exact same thing! hahah
@Random28
Chester is such a cool cat name!
This is now my fav thread π» I can't believe I hadn't seen it before today *subscribed*

"Helping" with my jigsaw
@Clio9876
So cute! And such a good little helper you have there π₯Ίπ§©
My cat plays with the puzzle pieces, and kicks them under cabinets lol
@SleepyShyCat
Oh yes, puzzle pieces are just irresistible to cats. I have few jigsaws that aren't missing one or two. But I don't mind. And in fact, on this occasion I think she was being my self care monitor and telling me it was time I went out for done exercise and fresh air. That sit in the box of pieces very much says "enough of this! Time for a break" π Worth it for a few missing pieces, I think.
@Clio9876
Cute :)
Just going to leave this here to remind everyone of how much I love brown cats ππ€
@SleepyShyCat Omgosh they're so cute!
@mytwistedsoul
There are 9 Rex variations in Cat breeds. Their coats are covered in waves and curls, and can even have curled whiskers. (You can also see Rex coats showing up in rabbits, rats, horses, and even dogs). They're all very cute:
Cornish Rex:
Devon Rex:
German Rex:
Selkirk Rex:
Tasman Manx:
LaPerm:
Ural Rex:
Oregon Rex:
Skookum:
@SleepyShyCat I think it was a Devon Rex π
I have seen Rex rabbits - their coats are so soft! π
@mytwistedsoul

Some facts about Snow Leopards!
πΎ Despite their name, they are more closely related to tigers than they are leopards. They used to be classified as a type of lynx, but are now classified as their own species and part of the big cat group (Felidae Panthera - Snow leopards are Panthera Uncia).
βοΈ Snow leopard tails can be up to 3 feet long! They're known to use their tails to keep warm, and also work as fat storage for when food is more difficult to find, and sometimes even use it for comfort - they carry their tails in their mouth! Adorable
πΎ However, all the other members of Panthera can roar (lion, tiger, leopard, jaguar) but snow leopards cannot (instead snow leopard sounds include a chuff, growl, hiss, and mew) and this means there is some consideration to classifying them as Uncia uncia, rather than Panthera Uncia.
βοΈ Snow Leopards can leap up to 9 metres - 6 times their body length!
πΎ They are the smallest of the big cat species being around 2 feet tall, and 4 to 5 feet long. Their fur is up to 5 inches thick to insulate them in the snow due to their cold habitat, and they have short legs and short rounded ears that help prevent unnecessary loss of body heat.
βοΈ They also have wide noses to help heat the air they breathe before it reaches their lungs. And their extra thick fur also covers their large paws, which function almost like snowshoes to make it easier for them to walk in the snow.
πΎ There's only between 4000-6000 left in the wild.
βοΈ Snow Leopards live on mountains around Afghanistan, Bhutan, China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan - although 50% of the population is believed to reside in China.
πΎ They are opportunistic hunters which means they are willing to adapt to whatever prey is available at the time rather than sticking to one or two specific animals, being the only species of big cat that will do this.
βοΈ Snow Leopards can hunt animals three times their weight but will also go for small animals like rabbits or birds. Unlike other big cats snow leopards are not known to be aggressive over their kills - when they are challenged by other predators theyβre likely to back away and forfeit a meal to avoid confrontation. They are also known to store their food in snow tunnels to save for later.
@SleepyShyCat the one holding it's tail! π

@SleepyShyCat ππ Omgosh! So cute! β€οΈ You find the cutest pics!
I do not have a cat, due to fish and dog populations within my home. Hwever I just want to say how cool and underapreciated skin kitties are! I love hairless cats, they get a bad rap. They're actually very smart and nice but they do need a little extra care to keep their skin healthy. Not all of them are pink though- some are black or even a bit spotty of the two colors! They also have really funny looking beans, without the fur, they look almost reptilian! They're webbed and a but thin, search it up if you like. There's also rex cats, that have just one layer of fur instead of multiple layers, and are kind of just slightly fuzzy skin cats. Some hairless cats actually do grow hair eventually, on their stomachs I think. Also, I love the babies because they just look like they already have all the skin they need, they are so wrinkly! I saw that someone had one and their grandma always crossed her heart when she saw it whispering under her breath but one time she knitted it a sweater, saying that even the little demon needs to keep warm
Skin cats! :D
i may be wrong tho
@LonleyCheese
Hairless cats are great too! I've never met one yet, but their photos are adorable. I think it's very cute when they wear jumpers to keep warm, and you're right not all hairless cats are fully hairless. It depends on the breed, some have patches of hair. If you scroll up on this thread I shared some photos of the different Rex breeds in cats already, they're the ones with curly hair. πΈπͺ
Look how grumpy lol:
