I hope the next Thanksgiving quiz incorporates trivia from the perspective of said "Native American tribe, famously associated with the first Thanksgiving." It is National Day of Mourning for them and many other Indigenous Peoples. 7Cups, as a listening platform, is well suited to modelling listening to their experiences, so I have every confidence it can be done. :)

I should've said, the day of *American Thanksgiving is the National Day of Mourning for them, and many other Indigenous Peoples. Not the current day.

@ASilentObserver I made a 20/30 but I think some answers are wrong. I'm positive candied yams/sweet potato casserole is sweet potatoes and marshmallows, not mashed potatoes. Lol. 😂

@Tinywhisper11 I did look, lol. I made a 20 but the quiz was questionable. I didn't know about the turkey feathers, Canada celebration month, the state, etc. Heck, I didn't even know they didn't have potatoes. I chose turkey because I thought it was a trick question. The mashed potatoes one I know is wrong. Lol. I grew up eating candied yams. Mmmmm.

@YourCaringConfidant ok well because it's questionable, we'll call it a draw😁😁

@YourCaringConfidant I relate to the sweet potato casserole question lol. As someone from the Midwest, those are yams, not a casserole! 😆

@ASilentObserver

Oh No..... I just learned something that supposedly isn't true.

The bald eagle is our national bird but in 1782 Benjamin Franklin wanted the Turkey to be our national bird because it was so prevalent with sustaining our sustenance during those settlement years.

We were taught this as children and now I look on the Internet and it says that that was a myth.

I don't believe it, I still think the Turkey was considered as an option for our national bird but I'm really glad that you chose the bald eagle. 🤣

So eat as much Turkey as you can and Happy Thanksgiving 😃

May I remind the 7cups participants who are US Americans that "Thanksgivings" is not celebrated outside their country.

Best wishes for a happy Thanksgivings to those who do celebrate.

@Fradiga That's what I love about 7 Cups though! We all come from different places and learn about each other's holidays! I love learning about Diwali, which isn't in my country but still so much fun!!
