Update- Group Support Chat room Management (Doorkeeper)
Hello, 7Cuppers! Happy Thanksgiving!
As everyone knows, most of our chatrooms are pop-ups and to open/close them we need the help of doorkeepers. We open these rooms often to host guided discussions or open chats.
Finding a doorkeeper was a challenge in itself and it consumed a good time finding one if the doorkeeper we know isn't available. Most of us do not know who all are doorkeepers in the community.
Doorkeepers are a small group of members that facilitate opening or closing of the pop - up rooms.
Here I am with a new update that hopefully be helpful to the community.
The vision of this update- Ensure 24/7 coverage of chatroom management.
We are rolling out a request form. Check it here!
If you are a discussion leader, a group mod, a room supporter and need help with opening/closing any pop-up rooms, please submit your request 15 minutes earlier to the time you need the room to be opened. Your request will reach out to the ones who might be available and around the community. They will do the needful.
Please do note that you need to be a moderator or have a moderator to actively moderate the room with you during the time of discussion/open chat for the room to be opened.
Note for ALL the doorkeepers- I need help to ensure 24/7 coverage of Chatroom Management, please message me and will share the response sheet with you.
I request to not misuse the form. It is to aid the discussion leaders/ hosts who manage their time to support the community through open chats and discussions.

I have applied for door keeper before all the changes happened. I have not heard back about my application. I feel Mods should be door keepers so we do not have to go looking to open or close a room. I have lately been taking negative feed back over these changes. Sad I am on the cusp on Sunday December 1st. being here 2 years ( not going to see a congrats about it) too low on the totem pole for that.
I would like a form again to fill for door keeper. or at least have an answer whether I am one or not

Ive always had luck bouncing over to the MCR and seeing which CommMod was on! Theyve always been very helpful! Shoutout @CommunityModAaron @CommunityModEllie and @CommunityModCathy (:
But this req form is a brilliant idea too, and I love the 15-minutes heads up too. Sometimes, a popup is last minute so that gives us a window we can still make things happen. I hope our Doorkeepers are content with it too! ♡

@littlePapaya2167 No! Because Doorkeepers hold other roles too in the community. They can be busy or may be unavailable. That is why we bring this request form. So, whosoever will be around, can do the needful. The form going to act as a communication bridge between them and us.

As a discussion co-leader from the Safety & Knowledge Sub-Community I really appreciate this new form, especially with all these changes recently regarding only community moderators being able to be doorkeepers. Now luckily during most of my time here as a co-leader so far Ive been very fortunate in the fact of my regular moderator/co-leader was also a doorkeeper up until these very recent changes, so before these drastic changes I didnt have to often worry about finding someone in time to open up the pop up room I was planning on leading/co-leading in because I already had a continuous doorkeeper in my moderator/co-leader! However as we are all human, and human beings do get sick sometimes there has been a couple of occasions where this specific co-leader/moderator/ultimately doorkeeper was sick or something, and was unable to join me that week which meant I had to basically figure things out on my own. Now of course I understood/still understand those few (and very far in between) situations so Im certainly not complaining, however I do remember how hard it was to find a doorkeeper so last minute during those urgent times, and this was even way before all these changes took place so I cant even imagine how hard it must be now to get a pop up room open (without this new request form) with the doorkeeper population being so much smaller, and the community moderators obviously having other responsibilities within the community. Thats why I really appreciate a form like this being created as itll give me (and Im sure other leaders/co-leaders as well) peace of mind in knowing that if I/we are ever in a tight bind again I/we wont have to consider canceling that weeks discussion, all I/we will have to do is put in a request for the pop up room to be opened by using this ➡️form⬅️! 😁👍🏼...

still cant get into the rooms... im possible to get 50 hearts from the listeners... so WTF...

You have the compassion hearts, but you also need strong bond 1, which is completing 5 chats total with 5 listeners (or 1 chat pet listener). A chat is 30 messages with at least 10 from each person.

Yeah that's the hard part for sure. I don't even have one of those required chats!
