(World Mental Health Day) Self-care checkpoint!
In honor of World Mental Health Day, let's take a moment to check in with ourselves. Here are your reminders to:
Adjust your posture! Sit up straight! This also applies to your neck and head. Are you looking down at your device right now? 🛑 and elevate it!
Stretch! It does wonders. I like this post from @amiablePeace77 on stretching
Hydrate: Have you had enough water to keep your body and mind functioning at their best? Yup, that's water! Go grab a glass now.
Breathe: Perhaps one of the most underestimated calming agents. We have really good practices you can do right now to reconnect with your breathing. I just did this one before publishing this post: https://www.7cups.com/exercises/mindfulness2/
Be sure to bookmark this post and tag each other too if you're know they're slacking (kidding) or if you just want to remind them. We are much more likely to succeed as accountability buddies so let's look out for each other.Now that you've checked in with yourself, you can keep doing this on a daily basis under a member account using our LEG (Learn Explore Grow) dashboard. Read about it here!
Have you done everything to cross the checkpoint? 👋 below!

P.S. If you noticed anything off in this post, it's purposeful to see if you're paying attention. 😜 Paying attention is what mindfulness and self-care are all about. Now, proceed to the checkin!
@Heather225
I did stretching, exercise, breathing and drunk enough healthy liquid and when I read your post I immediately adjusted my posture. Think, I need to put a reminder sticker on my computer "Posture!" 😀
@Heather225 @SnowTabby Make sure you breathe 🩵 Always rooting for you, my friend!
@Heather225 Thank you for this check-in!
I'm over here reading it like this:
I need to fix my posture, drink some water, and go to bed! Happy World Mental Health Day!
@Heather225
Lol the adjust posture and "are you looking down at your device" part made me actually look around to see if you were peeking from somewhere👀 H, because how did you even knowww that I, in fact, needed this reminder to sit up straight and elevate the posture whilst using my device?!😂😭

@Heather225
Yes, everything done, checkpoint crossed. Done adjusting posture, stretching, hydrating and breathing. Feels good, refreshed. Thanks for making this smart little easy to do self-care post!
As I slump over my laptop, I realize my posture stinks. :) But I'm working on it, and everything else.
Started the morning with a pile of affirmations that moved me out of some anxiety and into a much happier place.
Happy Day, Everyone!
I've learnt so much about prioritising my own mental health. So much on here to learn about
@Heather225
Thank you for this self-care reminder, H \(^-^)/

Hi Vickity Vic ! 😊 ❤️
I responded to you directly yesterday. I'm so very grateful for you and for you including me. I noticed yesterday that my response to you has been removed or at least not visible for me. I can't fathom any reason why it would be? Tagging H here in hopes that they can drill down on this as to why as well as hopefully put my response here for you back on the thread!
Hi H! 😊 ❤️
I understand that we may be having some forum glitches? My response to Vickity Vic from yesterday isn't visible to me at least or has been removed entirely. Wondering if you could check into this as well as help to put my response back to my teammate here on the thread.
It's really sad for me to think that someone that cared about me, someone that included me and I responded to in turn, might not have seen my response and then could feel potentially ignored and hurt. That certainly is counterintuitive to all that we try to achieve around here which is relationship building, community building and showing care, love and concern for others. ❤️
I'm not sure what happened yesterday to my response however, I imagine it's time for me to mention that this is the 3rd week in a row that some of my responses keep being removed (gee, at least that I am aware of) and I am not being notified as to why. My understanding is that is one of the stipulations for having a leadership role that involves removing items in the forum area is to notify the person as to why it is that it's being done. I did question someone as to why the first time, 3 weeks back and was essentially told that they were "too busy"?
In addition, I have been engaging on a thread and I noticed yesterday that while my response wasn't removed, the polite responses of others were? hmmm...haven't peeked around that corner today and I will remain hopeful that my response hasn't been removed.
3rd time is the charm and I guess it's time to speak up a bit in an effort to help make you aware of what is happening. You cannot help us if we do not speak. Hey, and I've tried to be really "chill" about this, but it's getting to be a bit much.
Oddly enough, years ago I dealt with a forum "sniper", picking off and removing my thoughtful contributions. It was a really bad feeling to be treated that way. I have no idea who it was that thought it was a good idea to do it to me. I stayed really quiet about it all for the longest time and then finally reached out to a forum mentor with an explanation of past things that had happened as well as presented a link to the latest forum post that my contributions were removed from. I simply got lucky that I had that link bookmarked.
I am someone that has a really high tolerance, assume that mistakes happen, that things might be an oversight, I try to ignore many times or consider what was it that I have done wrong. What is that I could do differently next time? I give others a pass many times, think that perhaps they are uninformed, having a bad day, maybe they didn't mean for it to come across that way, etc. I am slow to anger and quick to forgive even if the other party never asks for forgiveness.
While these are quite lovely concepts, H, you know that this is something that I have been trying to work on. To learn to speak up if there is a problem lest the problem continue as being overly kind to others could be a detriment to ourselves and to our performance here as leaders in the community. Essentially, it makes me a bit complicit and accepting of the behavior.
*high fives* 😊 and *hugs* ❤️
@SparkyGizmo
Hi Gizmo! ✨🧦☺
Yes yes, me agrees that I prefer the previous forum format. Right now it is hard to find our reply and the replies to our replies 🙄
Also, when I clicked your 'Air Fryer' thread and another thread yesterday, it says 'not found'. 😟
When I clicked on the notification where I got upvote or if I am being mentioned, it does not take me to the reply /post, it only takes me to the thread. It is quite a hassle to find the our reply, then clicked to expand the replies to our replies hehe 😅
@VictoriaLove7
*high fives* 😊 my sweet friend! Same thing happened to me yesterday on the air fryer post, it said "item removed". I didn't even mention it here to H in this thread.
I truly wouldn't have any idea as to what is going on currently. For me, responses to others, this has been going on for 3 weeks now and is long before this "bug" or "glitch". One does have to wonder what is going on with that one as well with me as the "OP" for the air fryer thread. Some things I just have a tendency to "walk it off" and ignore and not take it personally. Kind of like, fixed or not fixed, fine by me, 😊.
For me, I got no "flex" but H sho' does 💪. If my delightful response to you has been removed out of malice, not a site glitch, I almost feel sorry for the one that decided doing so would be a good idea and especially on a thread as H as the OP! smh, not good, not good at all, lol 😊 It could be seen as hurtful to me, hurtful to you as well as hurtful to and undermining the efforts of our Community Director that is doing their very best to support us all in relationship building and community building. ❤️
One can only hope that another is not quite so brazen, so foolish and mean spirited. Gotta' be some other reason for at least on this thread? I will remain hopeful. It really would be one of those "who does this"? moments. Either way, I'm confident H will figure it all out, address this thread as well as address the other threads that have been a concern.
*high fives* 😊 big *hugs* ❤️ and you tagging me really meant the world to me! I went through all of those steps yesterday! I really needed that! Thank you for caring about me! I care about you and very much so! ❤️
@VictoriaLove7
Hi Vickity Vic! 😊 ❤️
Thank you so very much for tagging me! I really did need all of these reminders! ❤️
Oddly enough, yup, I needed to adjust my posture (put a pillow behind me at my lower back) to straighten up, neck, shoulder and back are hurting so did stretches and I'm going to do even more of them later, topped off my glass of water and then.....ahhhh, breathed deeply, serenity now! Oh my gosh, this felt soooooooo good! I wouldn't have thought to do all of these things if you hadn't tagged me.
Thank you for caring about me! I care about you too sweet smurf socks! ❤️ I am grateful for you and I hope you got to do some of these things too!
*high fives* 😊 and *hugs* ❤️
p.s. I'll be adding a hot bubble bath to the mix to try to loosen up the muscles and do some more stretching afterwards! Weeeeeeeee-weeeeeee! 😊
I painted some arts, completed thought bending exercises.
@Heather225
thanks for the reminders! :)
