If I take better care of myself I am more resilient when unexpected problems arise and more able to help and be of service to people I love and people who need me.
Step 60. I am trying to learn to forgive myself.
I learned that because I am an extrovert, I need to socialize with my friends or meet new people to fill my energy tank. :)
Always be honest with yourself and others because that honesty could lead to realizing things that need to be changed or done for growth.
I've learned so far that:
- I'm not alone! There's a whole world out there filled with people just like me who are suffering from mental and emotional issues, and people just like me who are seeking clarity.
- My problem will come to an end. It will be an awful journey filled with darkness for days, weeks, or even months, but it will end and my life will return. Other people have lost so much more than me and their lives will have changed forever. I'm not saying that my pain doesn't count, it's just that being part of the 7cups community has helped me to put my problems into perspective and this perspective (when I'm able to see it) has helped me cope just a bit better.
I learned not to judge myself too harshly and there are some things you can change and some things yo you can not
I learned how to open up and acknowledge my past to heal from the trauma.
I've learned that I can overcome anything, and not to not be so harsh on myself.
Reflecting back, this step today is a good overview of my struggle and growth for the past 6 months. There's been times I felt absolutely hopeless, and times where I found my deep strength that I have within me. It's been quite a roller-coaster especially as one of the most defining moments in my life. I am absolelutly grateful. Even in moments where I feel tears.
Here's to everyone going through a deep struggle, mental fog, and feeling absolutely stuck without hope. You can and will get through this. Hang in there...YOU're already Trying (you're here). I wish you the same positive growth and appreciation through struggle.
