Group Support Program: Weekly Progress Report
Hi everyone! I hope you are doing well. Weekly progress reports are a way for trainees to reflect on their progress, and share their ups and downs. It is also an opportunity for you to bond with fellow trainees and for mentors to have greater visibility.
In Group Support Program, we have been using a form-based report, in other programs we have experimented with forum progress reports and have decided to do the same for GSP.
Moving forward, GSP trainees will use this thread to report weekly progress on the program.
You can use these questions to help guide you with your answers but do note these are optional. The important part is that you need to participate in this thread at least once a week.
What progress have you made towards completing your Group Support Program?
What challenges have you faced?

Good morning!
I've completed everything, the only thing left to do is the group support project where I need to think of a problem and a solution. I've been trying to work out how I could do this, but I think I have worked it out so I will spend a few hours today to work out how to get this done.
Otherwise it's been fine, I've got a great mentor and they are helping me with motivating me despite the numerous challenges I face when I do programs like this. My goal is to have the whole thing done this week if my schedule will allow it.

I couldn't complete required hosting hours yet.
@Hope
Hello! I am in my third week of this program. I have led 2 scheduled hour long chats and 1 hr pop up, all in the Disability room where I am a supporter. I have spent a lot of time in the room outside of those times as well. I have 24 more GSCs on my profile than I did at the start of the program. This part has been pretty easy for me because I love the group chats and the regular members have been super welcoming to me!
I also completed the 6 listener group chats, the three listener quizzes, and I have all the expected badges. I've been working through the peer support trainings i've done the first 8. I have an idea for a project recommending adding trainings on diet culture and anti-fatness, to potentially reduce the triggering comments in health discussions. Haven't written it up yet.
I have not started the forum lessons yet. The obstacle I face in this area is my own perfectionist tendencies and avoiding assignments until i feel like i can do them perfectly. I'm gonna try to take this as an opportunity to practice letting go of that.
@cinnamoncocoa you are in learning. its ok to not be perfect. I often have the same struggle. it's something we can work to improve, accept that its ok to have 80 or 90% in an exam, it's ok to be "good enough" without be perfect <3
@Hope I think I've done anything required now. my challenge was meeting requirements for Listener chats as most days the chat is so dead.
@Hope
1. I've continued being supportive to those who need it and having lighthearted fun with others
2. Finding enough time to participate in group chats
@Fluffysheep8 it's great you continue to be there despite the time constraints <3

@Hope
I've hosted some sessions and the challenges would be when no one's really participating, or when people are needing support during something like a game, because I'm hosting and i can't go support them :( but i think I'll get better at supporting during sessions in time!
I pmed you @dinosaurBlitz ;)
@vivelespatates yess i saw!

What challenges have you faced?
The challenge I’ve faced is making sure I put in the chat hours especially if I go in the rooms and it’s not as busy or when I’m working and don’t have time in the chats.
