Weekly Prompt #24: What matters most to you in your days that could help you feel less stuck in a loop?
Welcome back, group! I hope you are all being easy on yourself this week.
Last week we discussed: What are the common negative self-talk phrases that you often find yourself saying? Thank you to all who participated and shared their thoughts and questions for discussion. They were thought-provoking questions and thoughts. I hope you all did too. If you didn't share yours, please share them here and I look forward to reading and discussing them with you
This week's prompt: What matters most to you in your days that could help you feel less stuck in a loop?
Depression can make one feel exhausted and unmotivated. Repeating each day with little variation can make it feel challenging. One may feel tired and drained, and it is very natural to feel this way. But, if we can break this loop, what will it take? Please know all thoughts and experiences are valid so no matter how small or big it seems, do share with us and we will discuss our thoughts on it together.

Getting out of bed and doing the otherwise what might seem like "bare-minimum" to get through the day, normal usual chores to sustain, maybe a meal or two, some rest/ leisure, atleast one comfy activity (listening to music, watching a show/ movie, cupsing etc.).
I'd like to remind everyone that during days you feel stuck and lost in a loop, even holding onto yourself and simply *being* counts just enough. You are doing more than enough, even if it doesn't feel that way. Please try to be a lil gentle with yourself, you deserve it too.💗
Thank you for initiating a discussion, Obziee, always good to reflect on things we "can" do despite everything stopping us from it too!
@Sunisshiningandsoareyou Thank you for sharing your thoughts, Sun. It can certainly feel difficult to take care of ourselves during challenging times. I am glad you are aware of how important self-compassion is for our wellbeing. What helps you find the motivation to be gentle with yourself on those hard days?
@ASilentObserver
Yes hehe, sometimes there's a gap in between being aware and actually practicing something! XD But we getting there!
Thank you for allowing me to reflect, Obziee.
I dunno if it counts as motivation, but sometimes you just gotta keep on going, like that's the only option hehe, to keep trying and doing your best, so whatever little steps can be worked-out here, I count them too!
How about you, How do you perceive resilience when it comes to these challenging situations and What motivates you to practice self-care?

Hi, ASO,
getting lots of sleep, taking my vitamins and supplements
When I do well in class, it lifts my spirits.
I don't know what else. All I want is to hang out at home and be happy with my cat, Chloe.
When I'm stuck in the loop, often it's when I'm feeling depressed from work, the loop is playing with thoughts or actions that upsets me and then thinking about it negatively. Right now, I'm trying to catch myself before the loop repeats itself for too long. Whether that be distracting myself by watching dramas, listening to music, reading books, or thinking positively (thinking about certain things that usually puts a smile on my face). Loops are no fun when it drags on too long.
@Jaeteuk Thank you for sharing about your experience with getting stuck in loops of negative thinking. It sounds like those moments can be draining. Simply knowing you are making an effort to redirect yourself is very courageous. Though I wonder, what are some things you typically think about that help lift your mood?
Well lately, I've been thinking about what life would be like after the company hires me (the one I've mentioned in other threads of why I've tailored a Cover Letter and Resumé). Just daydreaming about the impossible. Knowing that I'm taking steps to follow my dreams, giving myself some sort of hope, helps with the mood. Even if it's temporarily, at least it feels good.
What matters most to you in your days that could help you feel less stuck in a loop?
Look at what I've done that has advanced me beyond the loop, and continue with that to get further from the loop, to continue in my progress.
@WharfRat Thank you Whar for sharing. It sounds like you're reflecting on what helps you feel less stuck and continue progressing. Reflecting on past successes can help maintain momentum. What matters most to you in reaching your goals?
@ASilentObserver
Feeling like I'm making progress matters a lot. It keeps me from giving up.
@ASilentObserver talk to somebody. Get some sleep if I am able to. A hug from my husband.
Today I am not successful in getting any sleep. It's 1AM here. But I'll make it like every other day.
What matters most to me my days that could help me feel less stuck in a loop in being rather than doing. I try remember I'm a human being, not a human doing. Then make an effort to embody that; wait for myself to come back to myself, using various tools and skills. 🧐

What matters most to you in your days that could help you feel less stuck in a loop? The support and love I get from my boyfriend. He listens and cares when something is making me stuck. We go on walks even if it is in the mall when it's raining and then sit in the food court and just talk about whatever. We started up date night again where on fridays we sit home load a netflex movie and shut our cell phones off till the morning
