1) I chose an article related to Stress : https://www.7cups.com/experts/article/stress-to-calm-in-4-powerful-steps

2) Top 3 strengths in terms of Best Practices :

a. Empathetic, kind, helpful & informative - The moment I read it, I thought 'wow!'. The author validated the audience's feelings of stress ("Stress is a natural response to difficult situations"), was professional and extremely informative (contained the definitions of stress, biological mechanisms, factors contributing to stress, and tips to cope with it). I find it interesting that the author wrote "to help turn stress into positive energy", it gives me hope and positive vibes 😶

b. Mentioned 2 sources - The Stress test mentioned is the most popular thing to know about, and its good that it was mentioned! There was also a link to find other similar articles on 7 cups.

c. Backlink to 7 Cups resources - There were many linked below the article (For more support, join our empathetic community, chat with a free, trained listener, make progress through a community-driven growth path or start affordable online therapy today.).

3) EAT factors :

a. Expertise - It was written on 7 Cups, a trustworthy mental health platform as it is very transparent in its work and received many positive reviews so far. The author had also understood the needs of the audience by using these tags "#feeling-powerless #getting-unstuck #managing-emotions #mindfulness #stress #student-life #work-stress #worry". It also contained backlinks to 7 Cups resources as mentioned above and was very simple to understand, it had a good flow 🌻

b. Authority - It was written on 7 Cups, a trustworthy mental health platform as it is very transparent in its work and received many positive reviews so far. 7 Cups also has a Wikipedia page which reflects its popularity.

c. Trust - The article is extremely well written, and I feel a natural connection and trust in the author. It was also written on 7 Cups, a trustworthy mental health platform as it is very transparent in its work and received many positive reviews so far.

I agree, her formatting was excellent. I really liked her use of headlines and sub-headlines, and bolding, as it made it much easier in take in all of that information. It really guides the eyes.

I wanted to let you know, too, I wasn't able to open your graphic. I would've really liked to see it. Is it possible you could upload it using imgur.com or imgbb.com? <3

🍒 Topic chosen: How to Silence Your Inner Critic

🍒 3 Best Practice Marks Hit: (1) Conversational (Tone, Writing Style) and Accessible (Easy-to-read Formatting, word choice, etc), (2) Gives Empathy (i.e. "your inner-critic keeps you safe") and Hope (i.e. "...so we have even more power to make our inner critic positive!") etc, (3) Expert Insight (i.e. Reframing & CBT)

🍒 EAT - - -

Expertise: Extensive Education entailing Licensed MH Counselor with a BSc Psychology (Honours) degree and two diplomas in counseling and CBT, 18-mos of supervised practical work in collaboration with South African Police Service as a Trauma Debriefing Assistant/Counselor, tons of expertise!

Authority: Other articles she's published such as 6 thought-provoking ways to forgive your mother and letting go of childhood trauma, racial trauma (uncovering trauma and how to cope), etc.

Trust: She has served as a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society and Council for Counselors in South Africa, has been a Therapist on 7Cups for 2 years and has become the Director of Clinical Operations here at 7 Cups (so she provides leadership and guidance for other online therapists here on the platform). She refers to CBT insights and has thorough education, in which she's received honours, on the matter. This alignment I think would generate trust. <3 She also personalizes the care she provides each client she connects with.

@kindEyes9789 Great choice for your article. I agree that the author clearly showed a high level of expertise on the topic. I also agree that she used supportive and empathetic language. The article particularly made me feel like she genuinely put herself in the reader's shoes and understood what they were going through, so much so in fact that I feel like I've gotten some insight into my own relationship with my partner 😊

As for your graphic, I like it and it captures the main idea of the article well. The only thing I would change about it would be to make the text a little larger and easier to read.

Hi Kind Eyes, I like this but I feel like there could be more detail in the graphic, which is a bit generic. just my suggestion, but overall good.

Here is the article I’m reviewing. Its title is “Busting the 9 Biggest Myths and Misconceptions About ADHD”

Best Practices:

  • The author did a phenomenal job at addressing mental health stigma within their article. They thoroughly explained many of the particular stigmas associated with ADHD and highlighted people’s strengths instead of focusing on their deficits. They used language that empowered the reader and showed a high degree of empathy in their tone throughout the entire article. This is especially clear with lines such as “everyone has strengths and weaknesses, whether or not they have neuropsychiatric conditions” and “we cannot blame people with ADHD for struggling: they are actually trying extremely hard”

  • They included multiple quotes and insight from experts in the field of ADHD. They went above and beyond with this by including far more than just 2 sources. The article was very well researched and thought out. They also made sure to properly give credit to and provide direct links to where they got the information from. This shows that their article is well-informed and based on credible research making it reliable and trustworthy.

  • The author was concise in their writing. They used a list format for their article and they bolded the most important parts of each point on their list making it easy to read and understand the main ideas within their article. They also added in some background information in simple, concise wording without being too long and rambling away from the main points

EAT:

Expertise

  • This article fits the criteria for being research-based. The author used quotes from experts and provided their names right afterwards. The authour also included links to websites where they got information from directly within the article.

  • The article is comprehensive yet digestible. It is written as a list with each subtopic being a number on the list. In addition, the author also put the main ideas of each subtopic in bold lettering. I personally found that the formatting made it particularly easy to read and understand the information.

Authority

  • The content within the article was thoroughly cited. The author provided direct links to the websites they retrieved the information from and provided the names of the experts whom they used quotations from.

  • The article widely shares different support forums and self-help guides within 7 cups. This is great because it makes people aware of the many different ways that 7 cups can help people who are struggling with ADHD. However, I feel that the article could have included some hashtags and keywords to make it easier to share outside of 7 cups and also make it easier for search engines to find it.

Trust

  • The author self-disclosed in their biography that they are neurodiverse themselves which I feel validates their level of expertise on the topic they wrote about. They also talked about their involvement within 7 cups which is another thing I feel boosts their level of expertise and trustworthiness.

  • The author provided many external sources to verify the information within their article. This shows that they have done their research and are making sure that the points they make are based on factual knowledge instead of just their own personal opinions.

Feedback: offered feedback to KindEyes.

Article: This is the article I'm reviewing and promoting:

Powerful Ways to Improve Your Body Image

Best Practices:

This article starts out with a hook (relatable questions), then it's followed by background information. Then it has actionable strategies for dealing with a negative body image. This is followed by a general encouragement/exhortation. Overall, I feel the article is very well structured and really impactful. I will share it with my members who are dealing with body image issues.

EAT:

Expertise: This article references several scientific studies in it's background and actionable strategies. It's also easily digestible.

Authority: This article also cites several authorities. The author's bio also indicates that she has experience creating content in this area.

Trust: The author reveals her interest in creating content, digital marketing, and her connection with mental health through first reaching out to 7cups for help, then going through the 7cups CDM program.
