Feeling Overwhelmed

yellowKite4994 March 11th

Hey guys, I just feel really overwhelmed right now and am reaching out for support. This year has been a whirlwind, and there’s so much going on for me in the months ahead: getting married, traveling far from home, starting grad school, and moving to a different state, to name a few things. I’ve always been a super anxious person, and I feel like it’s been out of control lately with all these life changes. I just worry that I won’t be able to cope with everything. (On top of that, I’ve struggled with depression and OCD too.) Just reaching out for any words of support!

I’m sorry you’re overwhelmed. Hugs 🫂 if wanted. Congrats on the marriage by the way! That’s really exciting!

One thing I had to learn is to take things one step at a time, (or focus on day’s list before you focus on the next day’s). Slowing down can help a lot when you are overwhelmed. There will be ups and downs of times when you feel overwhelmed.
There may be a lot going on right now, but everything will eventually fall into a rhythm. If you want to talk anymore, just let me know ❤️ [heart].

Thank you so much! 🤗 That’s very true…I tend to focus a lot on my to-dos for the rest of the week/month/year, and that does make it feel more intimidating lol Thank you for the reminder to slow down 💕

Hello Kite! It sounds like a lot of big and exciting things are happening in your life right now, but I definitely understand how these kinds of things happening all at once can cause anxiety as well. You sound like a really thoughtful person though and you've already come so far, so I have no doubt you'll be able to get through this hectic phase and come out even stronger than before. I know it's been a bit since you first posted, so how have things been going? I hope all has been well. Congratulations on your wedding and grad school acceptance too!

Hi, I’m really sorry you’re feeling overwhelmed. With so many significant changes happening at once, it’s understandable that your anxiety is at a higher level than usual. Getting married, moving, starting graduate school—each of these events is a major transition on its own, and dealing with all of them at once can definitely feel like too much.

First, it’s important to remember that it’s normal to feel anxious during times of big changes. Allow yourself to acknowledge that these worries are valid, but also that you are capable of overcoming them, one step at a time.

It might help if you try to break everything down into smaller, more manageable steps. Instead of focusing on everything at once, try to concentrate on one thing at a time. Making lists and planning can help ease the feeling of being overwhelmed.

Additionally, try to set aside some time for self-care amid all these changes. Even if it’s just a few minutes a day to relax or do something you enjoy, these moments can help reduce stress.

Dealing with anxiety, depression, and OCD all at once is really challenging, so don’t hesitate to seek support from people you trust, whether it’s family, friends, or a therapist. Talking about how you’re feeling can take some of the weight off and help you find ways to feel more in control.

You’re stronger than you think, and even though it seems scary right now, with time and patience, you’ll get through all of this. We’re all here to support you.
