Feeling Overwhelmed
Hey guys, I just feel really overwhelmed right now and am reaching out for support. This year has been a whirlwind, and there’s so much going on for me in the months ahead: getting married, traveling far from home, starting grad school, and moving to a different state, to name a few things. I’ve always been a super anxious person, and I feel like it’s been out of control lately with all these life changes. I just worry that I won’t be able to cope with everything. (On top of that, I’ve struggled with depression and OCD too.) Just reaching out for any words of support!
Hi @yellowKite4994! Hey! Thanks for sharing all that with us. First off, huge congratulations on your upcoming wedding and all the exciting changes coming up! I totally get how overwhelming it can be to have so many big things happening at once. I have been through similar times where the anxiety felt out of control, so I really feel for you. It is awesome that you’re reaching out and looking for support. When things get too hectic, what are some small things that help you feel a bit more grounded? Even just tiny moments of calm can make a big difference. You have dealt with so much already, and it is clear you are incredibly strong. Just take it one day at a time. You got this!

It seems like everything is happening at the same time in your life. Must be tough... I understand the feeling of having to cross that bridge alone, but don't forget that we're all here for you! You're doing the best you can. Keep it up :)

@yellowKite4994 Hi kite! First of all, I'm so proud of you! It seems like you're entering some influential parts of your life, and I want to celebrate you for that! I'm pursuing higher education right now too, so I can understand the transition differences! For me, I got settled into a routine and that helped me become less anxious. Now that I'm into that routine, things are much more manageable. I hope you can find something to make you feel a little bit less stressed and anxious.

You’re juggling a lot by the sounds of things - a wedding, travel, studies, moving states. No wonder your feeling overwhelmed right now. I would likely feel the same. You mentioned that you’ve always been an anxious person, but that lately it’s gone up a notch due to so many changes at once. You’re clearly really capable, but I see your worried you won’t be able to cope. What is something you can take off your plate or things you can delegate, so that you’re not having to manage so much at once?
