❤️ Creating Happiness ❤️

Hello Incredibly, Amazing Community!

Welcome to our Day 17 of the Self-Esteem Challenge. (The masterpost for the event is given here) …….

Happiness can be considered as a highly personal and subjective thing as it can differ according to the individual's experience, expectations, and needs in life. Many of us think of happiness as a feeling that evolves in two cases
1) As a response to opportunities, experiences, and appreciation
from outside of ourselves. This mindset can be troublesome when one faces criticism, rejection, or when circumstances are beyond one's control leading to the feeling of helplessness or desperation.
2) When we have expectations (for ourselves or others) to be in a certain way or to obtain certain things. The issue of this
mindset may involve disappointment, lack of motivation, or cluelessness when the expectations are not met.

In positive psychology, happiness is defined as a state of mind when an individual experiences satisfaction and contentment in general for a longer period of time. It is natural to experience negative emotions, even if an individual is happy in general, but the happiness mindset can help the individual in considering negative emotion as a tool to fix what is inappropriate by focusing on "what can be done and how can the situation improve". Since happiness is very personal and can differ for everyone, it is important to realize that finding out the right ingredients for what makes us satisfied and content is truly upon us. No one else can have the perfect list of ingredients for us, and happiness is a mindset which needs to be created from within ourselves. So, it is our responsibility to learn what works best for us and create our happiness.

Here are some of the activities which can help us create our own happiness: Appreciating ourselves- self-appreciation doesn't only form the basis of our lives but it is a stepping stone towards a better and loving world; Embracing every hurdle as a challenge - Take every hurdle as a challenge in helping you be the better version of you; Be content with the little things in life- Learn to appreciate the little things in life for they may be the big things in life for you in years to come; Surround yourself with the right kind of energy- The right kind of energy equals a peaceful mind and a heart filled with love; Doing what makes you happy- Follow your heart and above all enjoy yourself to the max!; Learning to prioritize yourself above everything else - Give yourself a chance to shine, heed to your needs, and try to fulfill them; Try new things- It could be a new hobby, sport or even new friends as long as you are happy at the end of the day!

Here are some questions to ponder!

1) What are the reasons for happiness?

2) Can happiness be measured?

3) Should someone elses happiness affect our happiness?

Icebreaker:- Create your own happiness by doing at least 1 thing today which you enjoy and makes you feel happy and tell us what you did. <3

What are the reasons for happiness?

No reason. Happiness needs no reason(according to me) . A flower blooms and spreads its fragrance. It is how it is. Somethings in life should happen without reasons so that we can enjoy them with freedom. ^.^

Can happiness be measured?

I don't think so. It's not measurable.

Should someone elses happiness affect our happiness?

Depends on the situation...it may happen.. Both positively and negatively. Staying neutral in every situation is an art. ♥

1) What are the reasons for happiness?

I see happiness as a state of being, a choice. I see it as being content and equanimous.

2) Can happiness be measured?

To me, not really. But we can note how we experience the world. For example, how do we view traffic, a wrong order at a restaurant, a fight between two people, etc.

3) Should someone elses happiness affect our happiness?

Absolutely, yes. We should serve others and care for their well-being and happiness. If you have an identity that values others and you see yourself that way, your actions should follow. You can not only care for yourself, grabbing every advantage in life and maining that identity. You have a choice- and there is only one side you fall on. Hoard resources or choose to be who you say you are. The goal is not for you or me to get something and have access. It is for everyone. This is social justice. Housing, education, healthcare, job access, personal safety, etc influence happiness and no one should be excluded.

Icebreaker: Do at least 1 thing today which you enjoy-

I am going to relax tonight in a clean space, Zoom with friends, watch something I enjoy and read before bed!

Hello @HelpfulStarlight01, @Asruu, @KristinHelps

Thank you for this amazing post. I love the color pink (lol)

1) What are the reasons for happiness?

The reasons for happiness are many like infinite. They vary from beating my sibling in a match of Badminton in our garden to seeing that everyone around me is healthy and safe at the moment. :)

2) Can happiness be measured?

No, speaking in science it is not a measurable quantity. :D

3) Should someone elses happiness affect our happiness?

I believe I do get really very happy seeing someone else happy. So, yeah it affects us. I don't think we can control it though but as long as it's not harming us, all is well. :)

1) What are the reasons for happiness?

Happiness can come from so many things and so many people .. Growing up, getting married, having children, having a great job you enjoy, hobbies you love, health, just looking outside at the beautiful scenery .

2) Can happiness be measured?

I believe it can be yes, like if you have a bad day or find out something is seriusly wrong or losing a loved one etc... some days you are going to feel happier than others so your level of happiness for each day can be different.

3) Should someone elses happiness affect our happiness?

No it shouldn't but it does sometimes an example would be what if your friend was unhappy because they lost a loved one or they were sick and not doing well and not happy this is gonna affect our happiness because it is so hard to feel happy when you see someone suffering.. I will also say that many will try and to make you feel miserable because they are feeling miserable or they are just mean and wanna ruin your mood then we do have to say to ourselves I am not gonna allow someone to take my happiness away because they are a miserable person.

Icebreaker:- Create your own happiness by doing at least 1 thing today which you enjoy and makes you feel happy and tell us what you did. <3

1) What are the reasons for happiness? The reasons for happiness can include contentment with our current life situation, our excitement for the future, or being proud of ourselves for our past successes.

2) Can happiness be measured? Happiness can only be measured on our own scales and based on our own personal life experiences.

3) Should someone elses happiness affect our happiness? Someone else's happiness should only affect our happiness in a positive way. If someone is sad, we should try to help them, but it does no good to force ourselves to be sad as well.

Icebreaker:- Create your own happiness by doing at least 1 thing today which you enjoy and makes you feel happy and tell us what you did. <3 I talked to a faraway friend today, which I enjoyed, and it made me feel very happy. I also doodled a bit after my morning classes.

1) What are the reasons for happiness?

Happiness can stem from multiple reasons, which is why it is so subjective. For some people, happiness can be derived from the delight of material things (chocolate, retail therapy, etc.), whereas for others, happiness can be derived from immaterial things (giving back to the community, opportunities, etc.).

2) Can happiness be measured?

Unless you want to measure the release of serotonin, oxytocin, and dopamine, then the short answer is no--happiness is a state of mind!

3) Should someone elses happiness affect our happiness?

It really shouldn't. We should be able to find happiness within ourselves without the dependence of other people. Of course, there are caveats to this rule, namely for people that we love and are connected to.

Icebreaker:- Create your own happiness by doing at least 1 thing today which you enjoy and makes you feel happy and tell us what you did. <3

I ate coconut custard! I got a good release of dopamine from that.

1. What are the reasons for happiness?

Why do we need a reason to be happy. My whole life, every single step I have taken is for my happiness whether it is temporary or long-lasting. I have little importance in money and fame. Whatever I do, I want to be happy and live under my own rules and not forced to do anything because they think it is right. I have trusted my gut and never has it once failed me. Im happy because I choose to be because I fight every second of my life for it.

2) Can happiness be measured?

yes and no. You can measure them as short term or long term happiness according to how long you are staying happy but you cannot really measure how happy you get when something good happens.

3) Should someone elses happiness affect our happiness?

Also yes and no. making other people happy can make me happy but just because everyone around me is sad doesn't mean I have to be too. You should never depend your happiness on someone because people are never permanent so the most time try to make yourself happy without any certain dependency.

1. What are the reasons for happiness? Theyre individual and vary.

2. Can happiness be measured?

There are countries around the world that measure the happiness of their citizens, so yes, I believe it can be measured.

3. Should someone elses happiness affect our happiness?

Should it?Yes and no.We cant place our ability to be happy on someone else. But if someone we care about has been unhappy, it would be right for us to be happy when we see them happy.

4. Icebreaker:- Create your own happiness by doing at least 1 thing today which you enjoy and makes you feel happy and tell us what you did. <3
