Happiness lies within us...

Currently on break... (Partially, so expect me to be gone for days and be back for a day and again be absent for days...)

I'm not into casual talks rather deep chats and listening sessions

The Art of Detachment
20 & Over Community / by pandanfe
Last post

...See more We easily get attached to anyone... LITERALLY ANYONE. However, once they're out of the picture, we find it hard to move on, be it friends or partners or pets or even non-living things. But how do we get over it and start fresh? Detachment is the solution. So today, we'll be discovering The Art of Detachment.  Common myths about detachment  * It makes your emotions numb * It is only for escape  * It leads to isolation and numbness  * It means suppressing emotions  * It makes you uncaring and indifferent  Basically, the myth about detachment is it makes you cold-hearted and apathetic.  But no, detachment isn't about completely disconnecting from emotions. It's about finding healthy balance with emotions and things so we can stay calm and peaceful even in the hideous situations. In fact, it'll extent empathy by allowing individuals to connect and understand with each other without being overwhelmed by their own emotions.  How do we practice detachment? * Practicing Mindfulness meditation * Focusing on self-reflection and journals   * Cultivating gratitude  * Practicing self-care  * Developing a growth mindset  * Setting healthy boundaries  * Letting go of the expectations  * Practicing proactive management  * Understanding that everything is temporary and change is the natural part of life  * Focusing on what you can control  Practicing detachment is all about developing a mindset and adopting behaviors that allow us to maintain a healthy distance from the situation both emotionally and mentally.  Warning: Just like overdose of anything is harmful, if we don't maintain a healthy balance of detachment practice in our life, it will not be good.   Feel free to share your experience about attachment or detachment. Also if you've any other ways of practicing detachment, feel free to share it.

Resolution XD

...See more Just turned 20 this Nov 2023, and I'm really excited to explore my adulthood. I've made some birthday resolutions for myself that I really want to give a try.  My resolutions are as follows: 1. Completing the writing of 3 books  2. Practicing web development   3. Becoming financially independent  4. Practicing self-care 5. Write and read everyday  6. Learn a new language (French) I understand this resolution my seen challenging, but it aligns with my personality. For instance, I can't write just one thing at a time because my brain floods a lot, and dealing with only one task makes it difficult to manage all the brainstorming. To stay motivated with web development practice, I've enrolled in a full stack web-development course. I've already initiated a self-care routine, not incorporating both morning and night routines. I make an effort to stick to a proper morning or night routine and engage in exercise a few times a week. To achieve the goal of completing 3 book in a year, I've committed to writing everyday and reading regularly to expand my vocabulary. As someone always eager to learn new languages, this time I plan to be consistent with French, aiming for at least one sentence a day. Regarding the resolution to become financially independent, I must admit I'm not entirely sure how to achieve it.  And thank you guys for reading this XD I hope you've a wonderful time ahead.

Writing issue

...See more I love writing... but I'm not consistent. I write in every few days or weeks or even months depending on Idk... maybe mood. But I really wanna be consistent with writing and complete at-least a book in this month, but I don't wanna make it as a targeted goal in this short period of time since it's going to be burden and not fun. I may not brainstorm as much as I would if I was doing it at peace. I believe writing shouldn't be forced upon. However, the problem here isn't that I'm not writing everyday. The challenge is that I write but not just a book or essay or article, I dabble in a bit of everything, leaving it for the next time without continuing. So technically, I'm working on 3 books (3 because i'm serious about these 3 for now). I've completed the introduction and chapter 1 in one book, I'm currently in chapter 4 for the next one, and for the third, I've outlined the chapters, named them, and provided a bit of introduction to each.  I could rush it, but I know I've to be patient with my writing. Nevertheless, i'll at least try to be a bit quicker so that I could complete this 3 book this year as a part of my birthday resolution. (I was also contemplating creating a separate thread for my birthday resolution so that I can check on it whenever I want or on my next birthday in order to reflect on myself.)

Group Chat
Religion & Spirituality / by pandanfe

...See more I wish we could have a group chat for the religion and spirituality community. I understand the potential challenges that can arise in religious discussion, but i believe a non-religious spirituality chat could be a valuable platform. I'm eager to engage with spiritually-educated individuals and have meaningful conversation.  Edits: @ASilentObserver I wish this post reach out to you!

Self-Reflection of a month of treating myself to something nice
Positivity & Gratitude / by pandanfe
Last post
August 21st, 2023
...See more So maybe you guys are aware that I had a self-loving months (20th July to 20th August) or maybe you don't but today is the last day of the month. This is a self-reflection on how a month of treating myself to something nice [https://www.7cups.com/forum/gratitude/InsightsPositiveExperiences_2238/Amonthoftreatingmyselftosomethingnice_309214/] went. At first, I thought I would just leave it in the middle like I would have done while learning any skills and I came up with a plan of online journaling since I would have to update it regularly as I would have already marked my words to dozen of people on the community. To be honest with y'll, I've always loved myself but I had never expressed it until this journey started. This journey have taught me more about myself, what makes me more happy, what I deserve, how I should be treated and so on. My self-esteem climbed up the hills and with it did my confidence, positivity and the vibe I get from any surrounding. I would care more about myself and not neglecting both my physical and mental well-being. This got so much into me that I couldn't even take a low effort from someone else to me. I wanted the respect that I deserved because if I was treating myself right, there's no way anyone could treat me the wrong way even if it means I would have to let go of that individual. In a way, it was like I set the bar high for myself and I wouldn't cross the boundary or let anyone do so as I've also learnt to take stand by myself either it be against me or someone else. Also thank y'll for all the supports you've shown me though out the journey. Maybe I wouldn't have continued it if i hadn't got enough motivation from you guys. I love you all. Thank you for everything.
