I love dogs. I have mad respect for emergency personnel, the healthcare profession and educators. I have 7 cups of tea by the time lunch rolls around.

...See more Hi! I'm SCUBAwish. I wanted to introduce myself. I've dealt with depression on and off throughout life. Sometimes it is situational and sometimes it is not. Hang in there, everyone! You're doing great - even if you don't feel it. ❤️
Panic Attacks - Obs Room

...See more I have had the unfortunate experience of being in a psychiatric ward, being tackled by security and put in the obs room. This is a locked room with a window smaller than your face, no toilet and one plastic mattress. I have had panic attacks before; but they have been increasingly more related to this experience when before I did not know why I was having them. Usually I go to my dog for comfort. However; he passed away the day after I was discharged. I have been constantly rearranging my room to find thke most comfort and the most "ROOM FOR ACTIVITIES". I feel like running - running from the panic attacks - until I collapse and fall asleep until the attack passes. To anyone that has been in a similar experience - I hear you.
Death Of A Pet
Grief & Loss / by SCUBAwish

...See more I wanted to offer some hope for those who have lost a pet. I have lost two of my pets and multiple family pets. It can be as painful as losing a human companion. I know this because I've lost my father as well. It can feel absolutely, indescribably horrible. Hang in there. I know life seems like it will never be the same; and it won't. However, the pain will ease. Memories will be there. You will slowly stop crying. You will recover to a point where you will be able to accept a new pet into your life - even though right now you may feel guilty about doing so; hang in there. The best thing I've done in honour of my pet - is to try my best and open my heart to other animals (even if you decide not to get another pet).
