To love life, to love it even
when you have no stomach for it
and everything you've held dear
crumbles like burnt paper in your hands,
your throat filled with the silt of it. 

When grief sits with you, its tropical heat
thickening the air, heavy as water
more fit for gills than lungs;
when grief weights you like your own flesh
only more of it, an obesity of grief,
you think, How can a body withstand this?

Then you hold life like a face
between your palms, a plain face,
no charming smile, no violet eyes,
and you say, yes, I will take you
I will love you again

...See more i'm proud of myself because i have been strong, strong enough to leave a guy who i was in a relationship for 3.5 years. To say i was smitten by him is the right word , i even fought with my family to stay with him but when in the end i relised that he was just taking me for granted and never valued me being there for him, that was the end i suppose. so i left without ever looking back and when he never really tried to get me back , that's what hurt the most........so i made myself strong to let all that hurt seep in me and now it's almost 2 years to my breakup and i feel that i made a decision that time. At the end we all are humans who want the people they love to love them back if not more.
