Women's Issues: Group Support Huddles
by SoulfullyAButterfly

...See more We are so excited that you have joined the Women’s Issues community at 7 Cups! Because we know deeper connections aid support needs, we are launching a special Huddle for the Women’s Issues topic! Read more to learn about what a Huddle is, how it will work, and how you can sign up! A Huddle is a space where the same participants meet up regularly to chat about common issues/interests. Community Huddle’s do not have a duration limit and so you can form long lasting connections to expand your support circle! What is a Huddle? The aim of a Huddle is to bring together a group of users to provide continuous support and social connection to each other over multiple weeks. Goals for a Huddle: * Feel less alone and more supported * Explore issues in more depth * Learn from other participants * Receive consistently high-quality listening support If you’re new to 7 Cups, Huddles will take place inside the 7 Cups group chat system. A group chat is a text-only chat system that is available on either the 7 Cups web platform or through the 7 Cups app. All you need is to be logged into 7 Cups - you do not need access to Zoom or any conferencing platforms. If you have any other questions about how this will work, feel free to ask us directly. Structure: What Will a Huddle Consist Of? Each Huddle will aim to have 15 members. Your Huddle peers have a shared interest in the same topic, with varied experiences. The group will be open 24/7 and only badged members will have access. Thus, it is an opportunity for a shared, closer connection. Multiple huddle groups will be created to accommodate groups of 15 users. Your Huddle experience will involve: * Signing up and being informed of your acceptance via 7 Cups PMs. You will be reminded about the Huddle structure, some basic tips, as well as support for any questions and concerns you may have. * Once accepted, you will be asked to introduce yourself and some of your goals for joining the Huddle. * Introducing yourself as well as participating during the first Huddle week at least once is compulsory during the trial period - these 2 actions will help you build the foundation of your longer-lasting journey! * Will start with a 6-week guided journey where the chat will hold 2-3 prompts per week surrounding different themes and topics. There will be a gap between prompts for your reflection and replying ease. The group chat banner will display the topic for each week. Weekend prompts will consist of takeaway activities and reflection opportunities. * Opportunity to stay in touch and continue to voice own discussions after the guided journey. The only expectations of you (other than attending every week!) is that you are willing to share some of your story, are open to hearing other people’s stories, and treat each of your peers with respect. Some recommendations to ensure a beneficial experience include: * Reply and connect to others in the introductions phase in the Huddle group (Week 1). This helps get to know your peers. * Try to participate in the group chat at least once a week. While you do not have to answer each prompt, you can share about your daily experiences or other concerns. * Read other responses and reply to other participants: helping one another explore our reflections helps us all benefit from the interaction. * This is a shared safe space: Feel welcome to voice concerns, ask questions, or start new conversations. Apart from the above guidelines, all users are expected to follow the general chatroom guidelines [https://www.7cups.com/community-guidelines/Member-Chatroom-Guidelines-9de0c9c1b6114d14a130f1b842af36fe]and the community guidelines [https://www.7cups.com/community-guidelines/]. For any further questions or feedback, you can PM @SoulfullyAButterfly or send an email to ayesha@7cups.com Sample: 6 Week Huddle Agenda Note that this is an example of an agenda and revisions will be made based on group needs and goals. Week 1: Setting Intentions Week 2: Coping with Change Week 3: Embracing Emotions Week 4: Building Resilience Week 5: Finding Gratitude Week 6: Celebrating Progress Ready to Sign Up? Please fill in this form [https://forms.gle/qYsofLqgy2SzWfW46]. We aim to launch the Huddles in approximately 2-3 weeks.

Why We Launched a Women’s Issues Community
by SoulfullyAButterfly
Last post
February 7th, 2023
...See more Women's health has long been an overlooked issue, with women's mental health in particular often ignored or dismissed. The reality is that women face a number of unique challenges [https://www.7cups.com/experts/womens-issues/] when it comes to their mental health. Some of these challenges include: * Unique forms of depression including perinatal depression, perimenopausal depression, and Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD). * Menopause * Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) * Body image struggles and a greater likelihood of facing eating disorders. * Abuse and Trauma * Infertility * Miscarriages * Pregnancy and Parenting * Endometriosis * Undiagnosed Physical Pain * Divorce At 7 Cups, we understand the importance of providing support and resources for mental health, which is why we have launched our women's issues community to address the wellbeing challenges women may face. Our community provides spaces to connect with one another, share experiences, and find support. One of the key reasons why women's health is so important is that it has a direct impact on their overall wellbeing. Women's mental health is closely tied to their physical health, and when one is in poor shape, the other is likely to be impacted as well. For example, depression and anxiety can cause physical symptoms such as fatigue, headaches, and changes in appetite, which can in turn impact a woman's ability to work, care for her family, and engage in other activities. In addition, where women experience poor mental health, it can have a negative impact on their ability to care for their children, partners, and other family members. Women who are struggling with their mental health are more likely to experience stress, which can in turn affect the wellbeing of their families and communities. In addition to providing support and resources for women's mental health, we believe it is also important to focus on wellness and flourishing. By encouraging women to prioritize their wellbeing and engage in activities that promote happiness and contentment, we can help to create a more positive and supportive environment for everyone. This can include things like engaging in self-care, exercise, and spending time with loved ones, all of which can help to boost mood and improve overall mental health. In conclusion, women's health, including mental health, is one of the most important issues of our time. Our community provides a safe and supportive space where women can connect with one another, share their experiences, and find help and advice. By focusing on wellness and flourishing, we believe that we can help women to lead happier and more fulfilling lives, and in turn, improve the health of their families and communities. FAQs * Are men welcome here? While this community offers support for women’s issues, men who would like to explore, advocate and support these topics are more than welcome to. * What about transwomen? Anyone who identifies as or supports women is more than welcome to contribute in our community. * Where is the men’s issues community? While we currently do not have a men’s issues community, we are excited to keep on growing our communities. While our forum restructuring and expansion project is in progress, we welcome anyone interested in offering support and ideas in scaling up our community topics to reach out. This is a community effort, and we will be ready to accept all the feedback and support we can get.
