How Did You Hear About 7 Cups?
Well, back in November of 2014, I wasn't exactly feeling the greatest. I was sad and confused and very anxious. So, I wanted to talk to someone out there, so I looked up "online therapy" and "free therapy" and was just searching for somebody who wanted to be empathetic. I finally came across the website and became a member shortly afterwards. I used to log on a lot and just talk about things that kind of bugged me, or I didn't know what to do. Eventually, I decided I wanted to become a listener. So, I joined and was eager to earn badges the very first time I logged in as a fresh, new listener. I completed nearly all of the courses, and I chatted with several people. As of today, I still do that! Earn badges and talk to people. And I love it.
I was feeling down so I was looking for sites online where you can talk to someone. That's how it started, and eventually I decided that I wanted to help others so I becamea listener.
How did I hear about 7 Cups... I'm not sure anymore. I guess it must have been Tumblr. I've been actively seeking out positive content there--self-affirming, coping, etc.--and I've run across the name several times. I finally decided to check it out today when thinking about options for helping myself cope with bad depression/anxiety attacks.

My friend is going through a hard time right now and he just feels so helpless and worthless. No matter how hard I tried I couldn't get him to see how much he means to everybody. So I went searching for things to help him out, and I stumbled across the think to this on Tumblr!
I was actually pointed here from another mental health support site- elefriends.org ... somebody was raving about how awesome this place was... so I decided to check it out. Came along as a guest for a while and then bam! Decided to become a listener :)

I learned about 7 cups from a reddit thread. Popped on over here and thought, wow, that's something I'd like to be involved with! Nice you meet you all :)
