Getting started
Hi,
Glad to find 7 Cups. I'm still a little bit nervous about this type of environment, though I'm hopeful that I can let some things out and I haven't been able to share fully. Have a lot of shame and guilt it's been holding me back. I need a safe place.
Thanks
@CatDaddy60 hi I'm lola ❤ welcome to cups. You've came to the right place, this is definitely a safe, supportive site ❤ I hope a lot of shame and guilt too, so I know how hard that is. Gives you a giant tiny hug ❤❤ welcome sweetie
Hi, Lola,
Thank you for the nice reply. I guess one of my major concerns is being safe and knowing that my information is confidential, because as I noted earlier I'm afraid of sharing things from my past that I know I need to get out and be dealt with. I've never told anybody some major things that need to be told and address.. That worries me. I also know I need to develop some concrete techniques and steps to protect myself from myself.
Peace,
Paul
@CatDaddy60 I understand that, I'm in a simiar situation. I gotta be careful what information I give out about my past. Cause of it gets in the wrong hands I could put myself in serious danger. I'm guessing this is the case for you too😥 I'm sorry sweetie. 1-1 chats are the safest, forums are awsome, but not sure they are really confidential. I'm right here if you need me ❤hugs you tightly
@Tinywhisper11 thank you for being helpful and kind. Still trying to navigate through the channels of seven cups. I tried to share with a listener last night but either got dropped or the listener got tired of listening to me! Not sure how one-to-one chats might work. I haven't seen a way to DM. I tried to observe a group but didn't feel like what I need to share was appropriate. I just need to tell someone so I don't feel alone like I'm trying to hide anything anymore. But based on the experience with the listener last night I may be expecting too much.
@CatDaddy60 yeah listeners can be hit or miss, some will be able to handle your issues others wont. Did you get browsing through listeners?? Group chats can be fun, I use them as a distraction alot ❤ but you know I've shared certain things in the forums, it's really supportive here we have a great forum community. Maybe you can share bits here ❤
It might be worthwhile just to be public with some thoughts and feelings but try not to be too explicit in consideration of others
@Tinywhisper11

@CatDaddy60 Hi Rob, welcome to 7 Cups!
Thanks little egg. Those are some gracious affirming words which are the exact things that I need to hear right now.
@LittleEggHarbor
Very, very, very well written Harbor.
@LittleEggHarbor
What a beautifully written message this is! I completely agree with everything you said.
@CatDaddy60, LittleEggHarbor has expressed it perfectly—it's natural to feel nervous when sharing personal struggles, but your presence here shows incredible courage and a strong desire to heal. Opening up in a supportive space can indeed lighten the burdens of shame and guilt.
Finding moments of brightness, no matter how small, can make a big difference. Healing is a journey, and every step forward is a victory. You have the strength within you to create a brighter future.
Thank you, LittleEggHarbor, for your empathy and hope. Your words are truly inspiring and uplifting.
Warm regards, Ruth (BlossomGirvan)
@BlossomGirvan
You're a very fine writer Blossom. Your words have content.
@Helgafy
oh, wow! thank you 🌹
@BlossomGirvan
I was thinking a little bit about God, the Creator. He just said and it was created. "Let there be light" and so forth. (Don't be scared - you and I are not God, but it's good if our words can have the power to do/mean good - lol - the highest thoughts I have been thinking for a while).
@Helgafy
That’s a beautiful thought about the power of words and creation. It’s amazing to think how God’s words brought everything into existence. While we are not God, our words do hold power and can create positive changes in our lives and the lives of others.
Striving to use our words to uplift, encourage, and spread kindness is such a wonderful goal. It’s inspiring to consider how our thoughts and words can reflect the highest good we aim for in our lives. Thanks for sharing this perspective – it’s a lovely reminder of the impact we can have...
@BlossomGirvan
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful written. Maybe it is true what some say; "We are Gods coworkers." (I don't like to think high about myself so I feel a bit daring/respectful/shy in saying this).
@CatDaddy60 Hi CatDaddy60, welcome to 7 Cups!
@LittleEggHarbor Welcome to 7 cups of tea. We will try our best to make you feel like you are accepted.
@CatDaddy60
Hi. Hi.
I'm Helga from Norway, very old - 71 years old. I always like to talk about Jesus Christ and God. Your problems can be enlightened from different sides. So I take the spiritual one. All your words can be said/written to God. He knows what sin is. He also sent his son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for our sins, shame and guilt. You can place it all on him. If we believe that we're completely clean and rightous before God.
@Helgafy
Very lovely message.

@CatDaddy60 Hi we are glad to have you here. I was nervous when I first started, but the more I got on here, the more I began to collaborate with others here I started to get used to things. You can do anything you set your mind to.
