write your poetry here!!
hii!!
so im a huge fan of poetry and reading it...i mean they are so cool...so i thought there must be many poets here...and decided to make a post about it...you can write poetry here!!!
u can also write short stories/quotes/song lyrics...you can write anything...and hope you do...i would love to read it
Knowledgeable woman; Forgets how beautiful she is; Flowers remind her
i want knowledge and books
and fountain pens and thought
i want to walk alone
think alone
dream alone
see, that's just the way i'm programmed.
but then i see
hands being held in the streets
raucous laughter rising from below my window
and those movie scenes where he sits with her in silence.
all of a sudden
a claw grips my throat
fear?
regret?
loss?
i don't know.
should i stay or should i go,
is what i ask myself when i
find myself staring
at you.
please meet my eyes.
only then will i know the truth,
for the eye can never lie.
i pray,
to glance your way
and for your almond eyes to be
already on mine.
yeah, guys im young and in love. first time actually. always went to girls-only schools, brought up by women, my dad the only man i interacted with. i don't know boys and the fear makes me a little more lonely.
@intellectualShip5998
woah your poem is so cool good job! i hope your love life goes good :D
@EdenBeta thank you so much! I hope so too:)
@intellectualShip5998 i know how it feels
Enjoy it
im bored, so im going to make some up on the spot..
sometimes
staring at the cracks in the ceiling
eyes burning and glossy
from lack of sleep
i think
will i ever reach out
to touch charred heavens?
tarnished silver and withered roses
full of tired souls
with nothing left to live for
if they're even living at all
wouldn't they get bored?
will i ever slip unnoticed
through walls and willows
speaking without sound?
whispering nothing and everything
doesn't sound much different
than now
will i ever be dragged
miles underground
by thousands of ghostly hands?
sitting in a pool of hot tar
feeling my flesh sear away
bit by bit
at least the pain
would remind me that i'm real
death looks
a lot like life
but
i won't really know until later
maybe i'll just cease to exist
like birth in reverse
the end of an insignificant universe
i don't know
a lot of things
thinking never gives me answers
but that's okay
i don't really want them
@basil531 that's such an amazing poem!!!!
the meaning of life
The Years have passed by,
In the blink of an eye,
Moments of sadness,
And joy have flown by.
People I loved,
Have come and have gone,
But the world never stopped,
And we all carried on.
Life wasn't easy,
And the struggles were there,
Filled with times that it mattered,
Times I just didn't care.
I stood on my own,
And I still found my way,
Through some nights filled with tears,
And the dawn of new days.
And how many things,
That I managed to buy,
Were never what made me,
Feel better inside.
And the worries and fears,
That plagued me each day,
In the end of it all,
Would just fade away.
But how much I reached out,
To others when needed,
Would be the true measure,
Of how I succeeded.
And how much I shared,
Of my soul and my heart,
Would ultimately be,
What set me apart.
And what's really important,
Is my opinion of me,
And whether or not,
I'm the best I can be.
And how much more kindness,
And love I can show,
Before the Lord tells me,
It's my time to go.
May I light you and smoke you?
My relationship with addiction
My current flows
beckons my woes
feels distant
All the while close
Listens to my pain
While flowing the same
Why must I crave your embrace
I must flow too
Beckon my woes without you
My current flows
hello,i dont see a lot of ppl posting nowadays...so i thought i would...this one isnt written by me...its by oscar wilde
He did not wear his scarlet coat,
For blood and wine are red,
And blood and wine were on his hands
When they found him with the dead,
The poor dead woman whom he loved,
And murdered in her bed.
He walked amongst the Trial Men
In a suit of shabby grey;
A cricket cap was on his head,
And his step seemed light and gay;
But I never saw a man who looked
So wistfully at the day.
I never saw a man who looked
With such a wistful eye
Upon that little tent of blue
Which prisoners call the sky,
And at every drifting cloud that went
With sails of silver by.
thank you for reading

Missing You
I looked at the sunlight
And which stood a gleam so bright
I looked hesitating, what a glorious sight
That the sun show overhead
Over all the people that have been dead
Buried in tombs so dark that no light go through
I stood there remembering all the days that flew
Weeping for no reason but that I may too....
One day go there to meet you.

Glad you liked it I wrote another one earlier it's called LoveSight.:) Also your poetry really good too.
I wrote this sonnet today, inspired by the depressive episode I've recently been going through. Hope you guys like it!
The Cave:
At times my mind goes wandering away
From the pale blue sky into the abyss
Where sunlight never reaches all the way
As the cave calls for me to reminisce
The gems that once would glitter turned to gray
As dull and dreary as the rocks and coal
Blocking out the dawning of a new day
The shadows blind the windows to my soul
Yet as I fear I went too far astray
A glowing from the distance gives me sight
As I approach and witness the array
Of glittering as the gems reignite
For darkness cannot stop those who are brave
Enough to find a light within the cave
Ok, I never done poetry but here is my attempt.
Watching from afar
The hearty laugh filled with joy
A warm embrace
A playful smile
The warmth radiating from your hand
Watching from afar
The distant gaze peeking into another world
A slow breath in
An exhale out
The final limp hug of someone you love, the warmth fading
Living in the moment
Letting it all go
And as the dandelion lets go of her seeds
Im saying goodbye to you
