Opened up to a distant land,
I took the path unplanned.
The battle never ended, I'm stuck, teeth clenched and winded
And I want to know what I need to do.
I look all around me to see what my mind tells me,
Feelings are confused and I want to believe
That someday when I'm gone, you'll remember me.
Can you show me how to love,
Because in my pained weird brain,
Where the center refuge continually burns
I want you to love me the same way I love you.
Just please, let this be true.
@Davidh25653

Thank you. I appreciate it that you took time to read my poem. I've written other poems in the past under a psudonym. Usually I aim for concepts or stories, not poetry about how I feel. I figured it fitting for this thread and website, given how everyone here is so caring and vulnerable with each other :)
My most recent poem (December 2019):
Who are you to think that we can stop the world from turning?
Why do you think that we alone can stop the Sun from burning?
Don’t you think that everything must have happened once before?
We’re just creatures upon this Earth–nothing less and nothing more.
We can’t turn the hands of time or bend the winds of change,
Or put the sand back in the glass or count backward the days.
Nothing that we do or say can stem the evolution.
The Earth can turn and the Sun can burn without a revolution.
We don’t hold the world in our hands and bend it to our will.
We cannot command all living things to hold together still.
Let go of all your fear and guilt for things you can’t control.
Surrender all your anguish to the universal soul.
You won’t change the world today with tears of pain and sorrow,
So close your eyes and rest your mind; the world will live tomorrow.
A bottle
That has seen sun and wind.
The label slightly faded and scuffed
The contents still secure and unspoiled.
Shake things up and the pressure builds,
Impending change is in the atmosphere, the bubbles rush to meet it.
It's okay to try something new,
fly free if only for a moment.
Sharing creates the glue that connects our energies,
otherwise forever protected by the bottle and the solitary comfort it provides.
@GrayParadise
Awesome
It's about our life and change is it?
Sorry if I mess up somehow I'm not quite sure how to work this site but heres a poem I made about my best friend
Evan,
Any place with you is Heaven
A place with cats
A place with a welcome mat
Is were you'll be
In the windy city
Cuddling a kitty
Is were we'll be
@EdenBeta
it's very nice
do read it out to that person, if you haven't already
@intuitiveBike8912
Thank you I did read it to them they really liked it
If you read it down it's how I real when it's bad.
If you read it up from the bottom line by line it's how I can feel when things are better.
All of that darkness
Banishes
My hope and my true friends
But
The deep aloneness
I still feel
Sometimes
I pick myself up
They throw me down
Afraid to talk
No longer
I am
Too quiet or too pale
If I am different
It doesn’t matter
But
I will never be like them
Only one person
Trying for something
All it takes is a few people
Looking for me in the crowd
Singling me out
I know they will always be right there
:)

See within yourself,
storm is roaring.
Woods are cold,
still the fire is burning.
@Depressedcoder
Keep that fire alive
Today
I'm feeling
like a plant that's wilting
I close the shades
pour some water
let my roots sit
On day two
my leaves are green
I perk up
and smile at the sun again
@DallasQueen57
It's a very nice poem.
It's about taking a break right?
Unforgotten Fool
Clowns and jesters joke with laughs and frolic around,
But not every clown is the same in this town.
It was not the clown who joked and cackled at no risk,
Nor was it the jester who pranced throughout in bliss.
It was a fool,
Unlikable and unprepossessing.
He'd try so hard to get a good reaction from his joker,
But they were so bad it made the audience choke.
He'd try to be apart of the group,
Yet he's better off stuck in a chicken coop.
He'd try to be someone he's not,
And become the laughing stock.
He was a fool,
Unconventional and unsatisfactory.
The fool finally gave up in a horde of dejection,
He can't even look at his reflection.
Thus he fell into demise in the wrong direction,
And he thought that this was a correction.
He was a fool,
Uncanny and now rotten,
However, he is still unforgotten.
My poem about my baby son who died
Its only been a few months now and its seems like so long ago
thed ay taht i had to let you go
yet i had to say goodbye
and wipe the tears from my eyes
I cry still jsut so you know
the months may pass
the years will come'
but there will never be a day i,, truely let you go
jsut so you should know
I love you so
]
@SweetSurrender2020 so sorry for your loss
He'll rest in peace knowing that you love him
Dripping wet crimson. A symptom of lone adolescence. The next Hallmark movie?
