@soulsings when I'm upset I hide in my room under a blanket and refuse to come out, yep! I'm a grown up child😁😁 I tend to just try and ignore my feelings, but I'll do everything possible to avoid confrontation, so again I just go cry under my blanket ❤

How do you cope with being upset? I get quiet. I have also been journaling 


How do you manage your emotions so they do not build up and evolve into an argument with another person? In all honesty, the past year or so I have mostly been detached from any emotions. I try to avoid confrontations as best I can.

How do you cope with being upset?

It depends on what or who, but generally the reaction is quiet, too quiet. What is upsetting is usually injustice, waste of anything including time. I would pipe up then but might retreat if the other party becomes upset.

How do you manage your emotions so they do not build up and evolve into an argument with another person?

Emotions do build up but are internalized for a long time. I seldom have arguments with anyone, including people who try and start an argument. I wait for situations to change and a better opportunity. This is all about choosing one's battles.

Take a walk in nature. Listen to music.

I usually write them down or talk with my partner

It depends on the situation. Sometimes I just stay sad for a while other time I will put on uplifting music, go for a walk or do any other exercise. I will always engage in supporting self-talk.

The hardest thing for me is when I feel emotions of frustration or anger and it is something I cannot change but very difficult to accept. If it's with a person I will let them know why I feel the way I do, so what's wrong but avoid an argument and rather remove myself from the situation if possible after I made my point.

If I’m upset with someone I’ll block them on my phone. If I’m upset about something then I’ll just tell myself I’ve been through way worse and survived/thrived and that’ll just happen again. 

If it’s both at the same time that I’m upset about, journaling or music helps me most of the time as does walking. 

  • How do you manage your emotions so they do not build up and evolve into an argument with another person?

I listen to music that helps me get as much upset-ness out as possible so I can be happy earlier, writing all my thoughts and feelings and emotions out, talking to myself about it while I’m walking, things like that. I also distance myself from the people to prevent confrontations or anything like that with them. If I’m near them and they say anything to me that gives me the feeling of an eventual confrontation happening when I’m angry, I walk away from them before it escalates to that

I take a breath, step back, and give myself some space to calm down. It helps me avoid blowing up or saying something I don’t mean.
