Becoming more positive
I have always been a bit of a pessimistic person, but as of late, I have become increasingly more negative. I had a bad outlook on my personality, my body, my work, my sport, etc. I donโt view myself in a positive light at all. I also have immense relationship anxiety and stress, and I really think my negative outlook has affected it. I just have a bad attitude.
I am going to start my journey on being more positive by starting my morning with a positive journal entry to start out the day on the right note.
What are things you do to be more positive when you have a negative self image or a pessimistic view on something?

@lightSea47 I am sorry that you have more negative thoughts. That must be disconcerting.
You have a great idea to start a journal in the morning. Many people use a gratitude journal to look and see what is going right in your life.
If you want to see how others are using gratitude to keep themselves on an even keel, take a look at the Gratitude Project in this 7 Cups Therapy Community:

Thank you so much for this resource.
@lightSea47 you are so welcome. There are more resources at 7 Cups like browsing for a listener and self help guides. https://www.7cups.com/supportGuides/selfHelpGuides.php

Hello Sea, it's so great to meet you! ๐
I'd like to commend you for being so strong while acknowledging an area of improvement within yourself, and your efforts in filling the gaps where necessary. I feel, acknowledging something is the first step towards anything, we cannot work on things that we are not fully aware of!
I heard somewhere that our attitude and mindset are principle governing factors on how we feel, think, act, perceive the world around us.
Ofcourse, it's valid to feel as you do, it's simply not possible to turn around the switch at once. Shifting your perception and mindset is a gradual process, a continual goal, I feel~ something we need be working on continually!
Even the most optimistic people have their low days and moments where the world just seems all kinds of dark and the hope for light is bleak!
What sets apart is the resilience and will power, to acknowledge the low moments, the not-so positive thoughts and let ourselves feel the emotions we're experiencing, finding a safe let out space for them and actually working on healing parts of us that impact us the most!
Again hehe, a gradual process, and you are allowed all your time and pace while you're at it. I'm so proud of you for taking the time to reflect, and even come up with a fantastic way to bring some positivity in your day!
A positive journal can be quite helpful, I think, specially when we're consistent at them!
Have you tried journaling before? There are so many kinds of journal prompts available on the internet, there's also some apps that enable regular journaling with daily prompts reminders, if you'd like to try that sometime!
I find quite a lot of resources super insightful from this post: https://www.7cups.com/forum/PositivityGratitude_170/PGProjectsandResources_909/PowerfulListtohelpyouReleaseLimitingBeliefsAchievePositivity_262537/
Positive affirmations can be quite helpful too, again I think the key to anything is will (to do), belief (that it'll work whether we see it immediately or not), consistency (to continually practice what we want), patience (to hang in tight when there's setbacks) and hope (to know that so long there's another breath, there's another try left).
This is an old project, but the content and resources linked are on point: https://www.7cups.com/forum/AppreciationGratitude_170/UpliftingStation_1167/PositiveDailyAffirmationsJuly2021Masterpost_253334/
I hope you find these helpful too! Rooting for you, as you try embracing positivity and hope!๐

It's great to hear that you're taking steps to cultivate positivity in your life by starting a morning journal entry. That's a great way to set the tone for the day ahead. You can also practice gratitude by listing things you're thankful for daily. Surrounding yourself with positive people and engaging in activities that bring you joy can also help shift your mindset towards a more positive outlook. Remember that changing negative thought patterns takes time and effort, so be patient and kind to yourself throughout this journey.
