Arts and Craft for our Well-Being
When I start creating a piece of art or craft it feels like stepping out of my daily life into a different world. My only focus is the piece I am creating, nothing else is going on in my mind - no thoughts about the past or the future.
Engaging in arts and crafts can boost our mental well-being and improve our life quality.. Creative activities have a positive effect on the mind and can help with many mental challenges.

Seeking Help
Mental stress can cause us not to be able to see the good things in life and lead to excessive rumination or worries which can result in serious health problems. If you have serious, long-term problems with negative thinking and feeling depressed, see your doctor or talk to a therapist if they are related to any mental challenges.

In as far as it'll help me turn natural materials into some form of shelter when the programs I need to survive are inevitably cut and I become unhoused, crafting skills could become vitally important as I age.
Building and crafting things is part of my self care. It's my go to thing to do. It helps me relax and it's rewarding to a project come together
@mytwistedsoul
Nice that you find relaxation in creating something new. What have you built recently if I may ask?
@amiablePeace77 I build mockups lol

How important will it be to you and your sense of well-being as you age to keep being creative?
Creativity used to be a mainstay for me but I have lost it and it has not come back. I guess I would have to say not important since it is no longer part of my life.
It is basketball or any form of sports which keeps me completely focused. may be the only time when my brain is not jaded.
@lakers95
With basketball one really needs to watch carefully how the ball is played so I can see it helps with focus and since it's a team sport it also helps to connect with others. Sports in general is a good way to keep your mind and body fit in my opinion. I hope though that you find other things in future to have more variety.
@amiablePeace77 trigger warning, disabilities. So my hands have missing fingers, but I worked really really hard with them. A few years ago I couldn't hold a pencil, so now art is my escape, expression, something I can be proud of. Last drawings I did, involved my 3 little piggies😁

How important will it be to you and your sense of well-being as you age to keep being creative?
I would say that I am a creative person. So doing art really helps me relieve all the stress. For me, I used to love art, I still do love it.
Doing art helps me focus more on the positive side. It helps me open my mind to new things. It is very fun.
@Admirablerainbow2825
Nice that art helps you to relieve stress! Are you engaging in creative activities on a regular basis?
Sometimes when I get the time.
When I feel stressed I sometimes do art to relax.
