3 Key Things!
Please post here 3 key things you have done to help move 7 Cups forward. I will be doing this on a daily basis. Feel free to do it daily, weekly, or monthly. Right now we've got thousands of people doing a lot of work on the site, but we don't have a clear way of being able to support one another. The goal of this thread is to help all of us see all the good work that is going on. Please ask any questions or share thoughts!
@GlenM
3 key things
1. Had a chat with one of my members
2. Read through the forums to learn more
3. Interacted in the LCR and helped in the LSR. Interacted with 2 mentors that wanted to chat with me about the site and what it has to offer.
@SparkyGizmo
Another productive day on your end! Keep up the great work.
@Hope
Thank you Hope! I really appreciate the encouragement! You are most productive as well! Of course, you're doing the big stuff, I'm working on small stuff but I'm glad you see that little things over time might add up to great things! Mantra: learn, help, learn, help.
@GlenM
My latest things to support our Community since last posting:
- Posted my second Special Projects suggestion: UPGRADE NONI WITH A "TASKING BUDDY" FEATURE
which will make 7Cups more competitive as explained here: https://www.7cups.com/forum/SiteUpdatesInformationFortheCommunity_100/HsHaven_1970/SpecialProjectsWeNeedYourFeedback_212540/1/#2137793
Here's the idea in a picture:
- Participated in Carnegie-Melon University Adult Listener survey. Now creating replies to their follow-up questions.
- Improved my 7Cups Bio and added links to some of my Forum posts that people might find useful.
@7motivation
Thank you for continuing to provide feedback on ways 7Cups can be improved on. We appreciate you!
can some one please give me modavation to quit nicotine i was expelled from school when i was 13 and started smoking
i smoked for about 2 and a half years i am now 15 and at my new school my teacher convinced me to quit smoking. I now

I also suffer from mid range depression from pysical apperance so yeah i just need modavation for these things.
Thanks : Me :)
Hi @dynamicGlobe3762, motivation can be a challenging aspect of human life especially when we are trying to go something particularly difficult like quitting smoking. I am glad that you are reaching out for support. It takes courage to open up. It can be helpful to get support from a listener as it allows you to share what is on your mind. You can connect to a listener here!
If you prefer forums, you may find the addiction support sub-community to be of help in keeping you motivated to quit.
@GlenM
3 key things:
1. Got to spend time in a chat with another wonderful member
2. Took a training course
3. Helped others in the LSR. Staying with my mantra: learn, help, learn, help.
Gratitude abounds: Received the Ellen badge for 100 compassion hearts in a day. Received the Gratitude Abound Badge. Hey now, ain't that something? Gratitude, gratitude, gratitude. Yee-haw!
@SparkyGizmo
Congratulations on the ellen badge! Another impactful day on your end. Keep up the good work!
1. More sub-community Stats!
2. Assigned 7 Cups Intern badges and mentors to new Interns
3. Worked on getting more coverage for Internship
@GlenM
1- I applied for ATL and Quality Mentor.
2-Spent time in LCR and LSR (engaging in the community and trying to help new listeners)
3-Checked on my members and checking out for Safety Patrol🙂
@LandOfHopesx3
Wow you did a lot! Goodluck with your applications!
Today is actually my first day on 7 cups... My three key things for today were
1. Seeking help(and finding 7cups)
2. I've been describing my emotions and my thoughts and how I feel about both in a constructive way instead of the normal distructive way I've been feeling towards them.
3. Taking notes of positive things to do or say to myself when I'm thinking negative things.
@mimimay1234
Welcome to 7 Cups! We are happy to have you. It takes a lot of courage to deal with your thoughts in a constructive way and I am glad that you were able to do that. Reminding ourselves of positivity can be great. I hope to see you around.
1. Talked to a few members
2. Applied for an internship
3. Applied for the Verified Listener badge
@Waluigi420
Thank you for all the work you are doing for the community! Looking forward to working with you in the Internship project!
1. Sub-community data gathering
2. Intern check-in mentor assignment
3. Spent some time with the teen community in a free hugs session!
@Hope
interesting reads when i randomly skimmed through some responses.
i never knew an example action as minor as completing a survey for 7cups can also be counted as a contribution to help out.
i always thought it has to be something as big or major impact/effect i.e. changed something, improved something, helped someone out. made someone's day better, some accomplishment (i.e. listened to over 100000+ members, moderator of ten thousands room, calm'ed the public of new changes for example support group clean up)
perhaps my mind, needs a serious formating and start over.
i guess i'm pretty messed up.
@mikenai22
you're not messed up at all! every little thing we do makes a difference. it doesn't have to have a big impact or be seen on a high level. building blocks come big and small, right? every piece has a place, and even something as simple as completing a survey or having a successful 1-on-1 chat is putting forth good energy. never think that you are not doing enough bbecause every time you sign on to Cups, you are doing something meaningful. thanks for being an active participant, and i'm glad you came ot this realization!
@Heather225
well Heather, I think the way I look at things are just so toxic and... probably very "corporate".. people only look at numbers, biggest deliverables kind of thing.
I can only guess it will take time to retrain my mind to think of the other perspective... or at like how you mentioned.
I won't say I come to realisation or sort... just... more like I noticed only.
@mikenai22
I completely understand where you're coming from. And it will probably take some time to shift your perspective, but I'm really glad you're wanting to try. I hope your day was good today!
@Heather225
I'm really glad I stumbled upon this text of yours. Recently I've been doing next to nothing. I had so many things planned but didn't do anything and I feel useless and incompetent. And it's been a while since I interacted with anyone on 7cups, though I did login almost daily and was taking my growth steps. I have an eating disorder and these days I have a really bad relationship with my food. But reading your text it just felt good. I don't know why am I even saying this. But it's just really nice and I feel better, just a little, but still. Thank you. I hope you have a good day filled with fun.
@willingOrange2578
Hi Willing, i hope i am not fueling/burdening any disordered thoughts or behaviors. But I will just share my thoughts and pains with you.

Red - Don't put too much stress to yourself. I should also remind myself too. I keep self-blame/harm-mentally to myself that doing nothing for a day is bad. Waste of life, money, energy, purpose.
Pink - Similarly, i have a truck load of laundry list that i want, wish, hope, need, must, should do. Some are complusively thought, owed to myself, due, or whatever reasons. it has been hard to self-push myself to do it. Some may look at it as procrastination or what not, i don't really know. Fear holds me back most of the time. Yet the reason must just sounds so weird.
Light Orange/Green - Great to hear that you started chatting with someone. Initially when i created my account. I held back very long, least a good few months/year before i even dared to start stepping out of comfort. All i did was just to "stalk" or login to do those guided posts or self-help...
Dark Orange - It must been difficult for you to manage it. I have my own troubles, so i shall not... compare further. But stay strong Willing.
@mikenai22
What a wonderful followup. This is what Cups is all about.
@Heather225
Sorry heather, i must have missed something.
What was the follow up i did?
@mikenai22 your a really wonderful person. Taking so much time and following up with advise in such detail. I'm really happy there are ppl like you out here. Thank you so much. I'll try work on myself and be better.
@willingOrange2578
no problem willing, hope it helps.
my poor mentality... usually like a form of almost completeness... hence resulting in such a response.
do take care
@willingOrange2578
You're welcome! Be gentle with yourself. And doing growth steps is a great accomplishment there, so you're doing wonderfully without even knowing it.
@Heather225 growth steps. Yeah. At a point I just kept going in spirals cuz the steps are repetitive when you don't have premium. I felt out of it. But then I realized that though they are repetitive they are the most important ones and I should keep a track of it. So next time I get to express my gratitude in the growth steps I'll be mentioning this thread and you guys. Love you.
