An Experiment In Gratitude - Dare You To Try It!
I'd like to share with you all a video that I really love. It's an experiment in gratitude! Check out the video here.
Did you know that gratitude is scientifically proven to increase your levels of warm, fuzzy happiness? π That's why we have exercises in gratitude built into the Growth Path on 7 Cups! Members, you can access your Growth Path here.
It would be really cool if we could try out our own 7 Cups version of the experiment in the video and experience some of the goodness for ourselves. This is my challenge to you!
Here's how you can join in:
β Who is your special person? Think of someone who has had a positive influence in your life. It might be a friend, relative, teacher, health care professional, or even someone on 7 Cups! You can share who it is below in this thread.
β What would you say to them? Write them a letter. Again, you can post it here in the forum if you'd like to share. We'd love to see!
β Do it! If it's possible to do so, send them the letter! You could post it, mail it, or phone them and read it out, just like in the video.
β Post here to let us know how it goes! What was their response? How did it make you feel?
BE BRAVE - I dare you!
Post below to let me know if you're joining in!
Mike
Even when there's 2,000 miles between us he goes out of his way to make me smile even on the darkest of days. I tell him every day how much it means to me knowing that he'll always be by my side
Wrote to a friend to say thank you for the constant honesty and support. Perhaps unsurprisingly, got promises for more of the same. :)
I would love to write a letter to mine, but sadly it most likely wouldn't work. But, i have to praise and am ever so grateful for my former middle school science teacher. She was wonderful at all she did. She cared about her students and made science seem interesting. She had an alter ego that would come out on occasion and loved the fungi unit she did. I loved it too. I loved how patient she was, how quirky and out of the box, and how wise she was too. She also taught some acting classes and ran the middle school plays while i was there. Which I also got to be apart of. If it weren't for her I might not have found a love of science and a passion for acting. She is a wonderful person that deserves recognition. So here's to her! One of the most influential adults in my life. A strong woman I am ever grateful for! thank you.
My person is my mother, i wouldn't be here if it wasn't her,
and she tries her best,
Woah! This video made me cry. So great and emotional! It's amazing, thank you for sharing this!
I'm definitely participating to this. I'll share mine into the Feed :)
My special person is my friend Isabella. We haven't always been the closest but over the last year we've gotten so close and I think I'm in love with her.
I would tell her this: Isabella, you are such an amazing, inspiring, happy person. Your smile always brightens my day and you've kept me going through my hardest times (though you may not realise it). You mean so much to me and I'm sure that you will go far in the world. I love you so much and I only wish that I was confident enough to tell you all this but alas I am not. I aspire to be someone as happy, wonderful and amazing as you. Thank you so much for being here for me and I wish you the best.
@modestTangerine7586 - That's lovely! Do you feel brave enough to tell her?
@Heather well i didn't tell her but she asked me out on Thursday and admitted to having liked me for, well a while. I have never been happier and things are going really well. Thank you for your support π
I am grateful for my friends who help me through every obstacle and support me when I make decisions. They stand up for me when I'm being bullied or insulted at school and they are always willing to listen to me. They are very important to me.

Thumbs up for you.Gratitude the big thing to achieve. Stay blessed. Stay hydrated, healthy and Stay happy......
I actually did this a couple of months ago around Thanksgiving. There's a married couple that have helped me through some rough spots over the last few months and become parental figures to me. What I wrote to them in the Thanksgiving card was "I'm glad you're in my life. Thank you for being there for me and helping me move towards a better future. I really appreciate it!" They both said that they really liked the card, so it worked out.
I love this! I started a gratitude journal recently and found that already I've found myself thinking a LOT more positively!
One of my high school teachers was definitely the first person who came to mind when I thought about who I'd write. Unfortunately, we've lost contact, but I did write him a thank you letter before he retired and I remember how good it made me feel. :) I encourage everyone to do this!
Hey Heather, I would like to hear the results of yours
