...See more My heart throws itself against my rib cage. Thump, thump, thump. It's like a curve ball, it hits its target, slides across the ribs, then bounces back from the force of impact. My heart, being tendered like animal's meat from this beating. Making my heart more empathetic towards others' pain. It hurts, it's painful. My heart is being squished until flattened, at times parts turned inside out. PLEASE let it be free, let it beat softly, let it just be. Where does my heart want to go? Am I too toxic that it's trying to escape? I've always wanted to run away from myself but with every step I'm still beside myself. The worst bully. I guess this is my heart's futile attempt to get away but unfortunately my ribs are its cage. I'm sorry.
