Hello Leadership Crew!
I am having a blast with you all. This leadership program is a lot of fun and Im glad we are doing it. I think itll help across many fronts. Shout out to @aleks2 and @quietmagic for their help looking at the first batch of results on our leadership composition. ÃÂ
Here is a summary:
Here is a summary from @quietmagic on what our collective - all of us together - strengths and weaknesses might be:
Leadership Crew Strengths:
Altruism/motivation: Having a deep passion for helping people that drives all we do and creates a feeling of purpose and meaning
Idealism: Having inspiring dreams and visions of just how unbelievably powerful and beneficial this site can be: imagining all of the good we might be able to create, all of the suffering we might be able to help heal
Kindness: Being able to create a kind, cooperative, culture that is gentle and considerate with people's feelings
Compassion: Being able to understand, connect with, and feel an urgency to resolve the needs, concerns, or problems of the people that we serve
Relationship: Feeling a yearning for deep, meaningful connections with others, creating a community where people are able to be authentic and feel a sense of belongingness
Leadership Crew Weaknesses
Practical implementation: Developing and optimizing systems, managing the fine details for concretely achieving our broad goals
Risk-taking: Being willing to take risks or make drastic changes to existing systems/practices where needed
The above analysis feels/seems right to me. This new leadership program in fact can be seen as one way that we are attempting to address a growth area by optimizing our leadership systems! And, zooming back, if there was going to be a team of people that was going to try to pull off the impossible (a free emotional support system), then I think itd be with the leadership composition described above under strengths. Itll take a lot of optimism and kindness to make this a reality!
Okay, lets transition to the next exercise and discussion.
Begin by taking the Big 5 test and answering the following questions. You can also read more on the Big 5 here ÃÂ and below.

I think it’s always great to know what ones strengths are, as we often don’t realize it. Strengths given from tests aren’t always 100% accurate of our strengths, but they are pretty close. It helps me to visualize what my strengths are so I can focus on them, and also focus on areas where I am weaker at.
4. How can the strengths you identified on both tests help you in a leadership role on 7 Cups and in your career?
Learning my strengths can help me in my leadership roles by fully using my strengths as using them as skills. Both tests have showed I am supportive, and can be relied on, as well as being organized, so these strengths will come in handy for being a leader!
@blitheEmbrace27 being organized and reliable are definitely good strengths for a leader! And possibly any role, really :) I agree, I think it's important to get a better look at what our individual strengths are so we can focus on what we're actually good at, instead of struggling or worrying about the things that aren't our strengths

@DreamTouch
It's interesting to see that your tests said you are extraverted even though you consider yourself to be more introverted. My MB test said introverted and Big Five said extraverted so I'm a bit confused about this aspect myself
@Gozzil That is interesting to get different results! I tend to see it as maybe, someone can be introverted when in large groups, but act "extraverted" when with people they trust and are comfortable with. I guess it could really depend on the wording of the question! I also go some different results from the two tests (one saying I'm high on creativity and the other saying I'm very low :P) so it's good to give perspective and see what the two were more looking at. I often found myself saying to myself "well, it depends on the context" when trying to answer some questions, so that's where I think my difference came from at least
@GlenM
1. What were the main things you learned about yourself?
I was surprisingly open minded about many things, and this means I'm apparently creative, comes up with complex ideas and curious which is definitely true! But I'm so disorganised! But that doesn't surprise me, I'm always leaving things up till the last minute.
2. What are your top 3 strengths according to this test?
I'm very social and energetic and creative and good at worrying (if that's a strength, I'm not sure 😂)
3. How can the strengths you identified on both tests help you in your personal life?
It tells me I need to get out and use my social skills more and maybe interact with more people, possibly use my creative side more as I tend to just focus on academics, make my life a little more colourful and interesting with some creativity!
4. How can the strengths you identified on both tests help you in a leadership role on 7 Cups and in your career?
Its told me I need to be in social situations where I'm talking to as many people possible so maybe pushing me towards a leadership role focusing around a support chat, or maybe looking into helping out with the anxiety sub-community as the test highlighted I'm an anxious person 🙂
Fantastic exercise for self reflection!
