Welcome back, crew! We've discussed leading yourself and others. Let's talk about leading ÃÂ within the community!
A car is a ÃÂ system that has different levels of components. Each component is a system in itself like engine, accelerator, gears, clutch, tires, seats, front deck, mirrors, and so on. Each of these components is also a system too. But when they are integrated into one big system, it comprises the bigger picture as a car which facilitates movement from one place to another. ÃÂ
Similarly, 7Cups is a system. A system of small systems that have their own defined set of goals but contributing towards a bigger goal (community goal).
When you are a lead of a project, you are not just leading your own project but also within the community as well. Examples: Verified Listener Program, Active Listening Tests, Listener Coaching, Quality Mentor, Listener Support Chat Rooms, and so on are individual projects that contribute to supporting a user to become a better listener to support the member they listen to and the community at large. Everyone is functioning as an integral part of the system. ÃÂ
To ensure the smooth operation of your system and the whole system, you need to collaborate with other community and project leaders to problem solve and be well synced. ÃÂ
Everything is interlinked and interconnected. You are part of the community and leading within the community. And, when everyone collectively gathers together to achieve one purpose, we are cultivating a sense of community solidarity.
Exercise:
1. ÃÂ Give an example of how you are part of this community and how are you contributing as an individual, as a team, and within the community. ÃÂ
2. Please reply to 3 of your peers in the thread!
After fulfilling the requirements of this post, please proceed to the end of Course 4!ÃÂ

I try to keep the community safe by flagging profiles. I also contribute to improving listener quality as a listener verifier.
(improvement of previous answer)
I am part of the safety patrol team, and the listener verifier team.
Individual: As an individual, I am contributing by flagging profiles, and conducting mock chats with listeners looking to be verified.
Team: The teams I am part of are responsible for safety and improving quality of listeners. I contribute to this by doing my part
Community: The things I do (e.g. 1-1 chats, safety patrol, mock chats) contribute a little to the overall growth of the community.

1. Give an example of how you are part of this community and how are you contributing as an individual, as a team, and within the community.
In the community, I try and help out wherever I can! I try and welcome/encourage others to build their confidence as listeners. I remeber when I first started I was kind of lost and not at all confident. I try and help others through that feeling!
@cocoakrispies121
I realized I didn't love how I wrote this, so I am rewriting it!
Give an example of how you are part of this community and how are you contributing as an individual, as a team, and within the community.
I am a part of this community as a listener, and a friend! I encourage and help others to be their best! As an individual, I try and take member chats whenever I can, and I try and message other listeners who may need help as much as I can! As a team, I am apart of a couple different ones! I help mentor, along with a group of amazing mentors, I help by providing chat and peer support to other listeners, I help verify other listeners with the amazing verifying team, all sorts of stuff! In the community I try and talk to members often, and help others out in forums, or around the site where Im needed.
@cocoakrispies121 that is so smart to rewrite things. By the 2nd draft I am starting to see the creativity sprouting. Way to go!
@Heather225
When I joined my goal was to help as much as possible and as many people as possible. Apart from taking 1on1 chats and supporting members through sessions, I decided to become a part of general support team to help others by contributing with fellow listeners. I chose it because it's a generalized support and not on a specific topic so I believe it covers most of the people. I have hosted many sharing circles and I'm proud of that because it's a room that someone can express freely and with the new schedule, anytime they need to. I really like cooperating with fellow listeners to do our best for others and the community. I try to be consistent with the help that I offer and be there for everyone that needs me while maintaining my boundaries and doing the best I can to improve my well-being and others' through learning and practicing active listening.
Keep up the great work! @SofiaT2000

As a needs reply focused project agent on forum team I personally have my to do list, including replying to needs reply posts as much as I can, onboarding new team members and poking anyone I think might be interested in joining needs reply, also staying tuned with the team
As a team also we have a goal of clearing the needs reply area and trying our best to put the number of posts that go unseen to the minimum
Within the community we are trying to get to a community which is providing support and the feeling of being heard for our members, which to be achieved needs forum team to ensure getting a reply and also making sure all replies are supporting and within the guidlines, group support team to keep the rooms active,safe and welcoming and every listener to take chats and put their efforts in making their member feel heard through 1-1s, which needs the quality team’s work to increase quality in 1-1s as much as possible
Wow you are doing great things and are an important key to making 7 cups a supportive community! @Listeningsarinn
@Listeningsarinn your goals and focus are crystal clear.. I ws too.ant to follow your path by doing checklist
@Listeningsarinn
You are a core listener to the 7 cups community, it wouldn't be the same without you ♥️
@Listeningsarinn
Doing some great work, Sarinn!
@Heather225
As a listener I try to be as sympathetic and patient with our members. Towards to listeners, I try to be motivational, understanding and supportive.
By helping other's in 1-1 chats or by being a peer supporter.
By being on a room chat, where you can interact with others.
Within the community, I try to be active in subcommunities and join room chats.
@queenviebsonly you've got plenty of roles to do which is amazing! Thank you for sharing!
@queenviebsonly Awesome! Keep up the good work
@queenviebsonly
Lovely, keep going!
Give an example of how you are part of this community and how are you contributing as an individual, as a team, and within the community.
I am supporting the community by helping them listen better and supporting them when they need it. Listeners may need listeners too. So just by being there for a peer during hardship.
Exercise:
1. Give an example of how you are part of this community and how are you contributing
I participate in events and discussions and helping others
as an individual, I am a listener so I listen to members. I am a mentor so I help listeners tweak their skills and help other members.
as a team, and I am CML of 50+ and cohost 8 discussions per week including 2 Open Chats
within the community. As an ambassador I try to promote other leaders in the community. I try to encourage people to grow within leadership roles.

1. Give an example of how you are part of this community and how are you contributing as an individual, as a team, and within the community.
How I'm part of this community?
Everyone in 7 cups is part of our strong, close-knit community whether they are a listener like me (and also budding forum supporter ), a member, etc.
How are you contributing as an individual?
Whenever I take a chat I put my full effort in to validate their feelings and truly listen to what they are saying by summarising and reflecting.
How are you contributing as a team?
Our team has high expectations and high warmth so everyone can benefit and achieve their potential in our community. I'm trying my best to fulfill these values.
How are you contributing within the community?
Whenever I make a forum post for the community, I make sure it is interesting, for example, a general knowledge quiz. I also do my best to reply back to replies.
@lovelyParadise7651
Thanks for sharing these answers, it sounds like you're doing some gret work in the forums =)
@lovelyParadise7651 yes, I'm sure you're really did great job in your roles.Keep it up.
1. Give an example of how you are part of this community and how are you contributing as an individual, as a team, and within the community.
How I'm part of this community?
I am a listener, a room supporter and a Sharing Circle host.
How are you contributing as an individual?
As a Sharing Circle host I facilitate members sharing their feelings and what's happening in their lives, as well as facilitating members supporting other members.
How are you contributing as a team?
The General Support team hosts hundreds of Sharing Circles every month, allowing a lot of members to share and be supported. As a member of this team I try to let people in the SC room who haven't hosted before know that I am available to support them if they feel ready to try hosting.
How are you contributing within the community?
Sharing Circles offer a different way for members of the community to communicate. For some people it's less daunting than a 1-1 chat but it's more immediate than the forums. I'm proud to be able to contribute to this project as it means a greater variety of ways members can express themselves, this is important as different people will feel comfortable in different settings.
@Gozzil thank you for being here and supporting others!
@Heather225
Give an example of how you are part of this community and how you are contributing as an individual, as a team, and within the community.
How I’m a part of this community: Whatever the different roles we have or tasks we do, at the end we are all here for one greater purpose, support! At the end, I’m a listener and supporter who will always do my best to at least help make one person happy and relieved everyday!
My contribution as an individual: I currently hold many roles, and some of them require individual work like mentoring my sub-community, preparing discussions, doing mock chats, and preparing interesting and helpful forum threads.
My contribution as a team: Recently we had a shared holidays event between three sub-communities called: Celebratory Travels. I loved the cooperation and organization that all the teams shared together to come up with these awesome threads and information.
My contribution in the community: I make sure that our forums are active on a daily basis with useful community related information, questions got answered, and also preparing fun trivias and events as ice breakers for everyone from time to time.

Thank you for helping and making others happy and relieved!
