Welcome back, crew! We've discussed leading yourself and others. Let's talk about leading ÃÂ within the community!
A car is a ÃÂ system that has different levels of components. Each component is a system in itself like engine, accelerator, gears, clutch, tires, seats, front deck, mirrors, and so on. Each of these components is also a system too. But when they are integrated into one big system, it comprises the bigger picture as a car which facilitates movement from one place to another. ÃÂ
Similarly, 7Cups is a system. A system of small systems that have their own defined set of goals but contributing towards a bigger goal (community goal).
When you are a lead of a project, you are not just leading your own project but also within the community as well. Examples: Verified Listener Program, Active Listening Tests, Listener Coaching, Quality Mentor, Listener Support Chat Rooms, and so on are individual projects that contribute to supporting a user to become a better listener to support the member they listen to and the community at large. Everyone is functioning as an integral part of the system. ÃÂ
To ensure the smooth operation of your system and the whole system, you need to collaborate with other community and project leaders to problem solve and be well synced. ÃÂ
Everything is interlinked and interconnected. You are part of the community and leading within the community. And, when everyone collectively gathers together to achieve one purpose, we are cultivating a sense of community solidarity.
Exercise:
1. ÃÂ Give an example of how you are part of this community and how are you contributing as an individual, as a team, and within the community. ÃÂ
2. Please reply to 3 of your peers in the thread!
After fulfilling the requirements of this post, please proceed to the end of Course 4!ÃÂ
This post is brought to you by the Leadership Development Program Team, find out more information about the program here.
An example of how I am part of this community and how I am contributing as an individual, as a team, and within the community:
How I am part of this community -- I joined 7 Cups and instantly enjoyed the positive ambiance. So I decided to do more things that I could to help.
How I am contributing -- I offer supports to others. Members (1-1 chats) and other listeners (answering questions that I know the answer of - on forum or in listener chatroom).
Needed to rewrite my answers so it would appear more organized:

1. Give an example of how you are part of this community and how are you contributing as an individual, as a team, and within the community.
I think I am pretty involved in the community of 7 cups. I am part of safety patrol, peer and chat supporter, moderator, community mentor, quality mentor, support team leader/support room mentor, forum supporter, support session leader and room supporter.
I help listeners after or during difficult chats, or with chats they are stuck with. As well as I answer any questions listeners might ask in the listener support room. I help keep 7 cups safe by flagging innapropriate profiles/display pictures, as well as making sure the rooms are safe and supportive by moderating. I help new listeners improve their skills, I help listeners brush up with skills and gain confidence in themselves. I host support sessions that everyone are welcome to join, I always make sure to create an enthusiastic, fun, safe, and supportive room. I join in on team meetings, and share my opinions if needed. I reach out to my team to see how they are doing, and if they are active or not. I am constantly learning and growing, while also helping others learn and grow.

Give an example of how you are part of this community and how are you contributing as an individual, as a team, and within the community.
How am I part of this community?
I am a sharing circle host, a discussion leader, and a room supporter
How are you contributing as an individual?
I do my part to host the sharing circle and discussion slot that I've signed up for on a weekly basis. I do my best to make it a supportive space, and to ensure that I am present and on time for every session. I also check in on the rooms I am a room supporter in whenever I have some free time on my hands.
How are you contributing as a team?
I am supporting my team leads by submitting the tracking forms on time and regularly. I also make it a point to read all of their updates carefully, and respond when asked to, so they know I have read and understood. I also support my team by taking over in hosting sharing circles from other hosts occasionally when requested.
How are you contributing within the community?
I am regularly attending sessions held by other hosts, and I have been working with many members, especially with my long term members
@hopebeyondpain This is a really good response. I love how you answered all the questions and presented it perfectly. You are very organised and are doing the best <3 keep it up

I am part of the community by working hard on the safety patrol to keep the confidence, comfort, and integrity of the community as high as possible on the outer end of things! I also contribute to the site’s overall quality through putting care, love, and patience into every interaction I have the pleasure of partaking in on this site.
I am part of the community by: choosing to participate, to do more than what is expected.
I contribute as an individual by: giving people my full care and attention when I am listening to them.
I contribute as a team by: being a part of the safety patrol, and seeking to make the 7Cups experience better for everyone.
I contribute within the community by: choosing to be my best self every time I log on and interact.
@Dinohorus Awesome! Neat and organised. Keep up the good work!

Ever since I have joined the community, I have tried my best to get more and more involved and engaged with the community. I would very much like to think that my part in this community is:
As an individual: supporting and caring for members and listeners in need, by making them feel respected, worth it and understood.
As a team: I am part of a team that offers endless support to people who need it the most, whilst helping out with comforting members of the team as well.
Within the community: I am sharing the vision and mission of the community by getting involved in its awareness, by spreading the word and delivering quality.
@Ines1229 Sharing vision and mission within our community is an important things too which will strive our objective- high expectation and high warmth.

Well when it comes to being a listener here, I try to bring the best of my patience and warmth whenever I start taking chats. I try my best to make sure the member feels alright after the chat. I make the usual follow-ups as well. Acting as a part of the community I respond to fellow listeners reaching out to me whenever they need the assistance of any sort. I try to motivate the new interns under the Internship program.

I am part of this community by being a peer support. This recent role that I have attained through this program has helped me realise that I can reach out to other listeners and ensure they are healing and refilled their cup after a distressing conversation. This does not only help the individual but it also help the listener get back on track and to continue being a volunteer on 7 cups; fulfilling the goal of 7 cups which is to reach out to others. I am contirbuting as part of a team too like the car system that enables other parts to function and make the whole car moving. So as an individual or in a team, peer support contributes to the community
@Dazzle28purvi
Amazing, keep it up.
