The first 3 conversations helped us set the foundation for this discussion. The idea that the problem is the path or the obstacle is the way comes from the Stoics. If interested, I also recommend this book as a good overview of stoic thinking. I think there is a tremendous amount of wisdom in these ancient ideas. I'm glad to see much of it resurfacing now. ÃÃÂ
This disucssion is the most important discussion in this course. This is the core insight to learn for your own personal and professional development as well as the key insight that will continue to help us grow and evolve at 7 Cups. Please really take your time to think through these ideas. They matter and they are meaningful. These ideas can help change the trajectory of your life.

1. What are 3 key points from Chapter 4 that stand out to you. Please post them in this thread.
- Key to breaking out from denial and distraction is facing problems and truly caring about people.
- Concept of "Aunt Maggie" as a problem. Dealing with it in an accepting way gives some gift in a result even if it is exhausting and makes tired, pained or drained.
- Problems teach us to ask for help. That really complex problem should be resolved together, facing it alone is not an option.
2. Watch this overview video by Ryan Holiday on his book the Obstacle is the way. In your own words, please identify and describe the 3 key components he outlined in the video.
- Perception: how do we perceive the problem - it is just our point of sight. If we look on it as on oppurtunity, we will improve. We should remember is is not as bad as our mind drew, it is just as it is.
- Action: actually taking an action about problem, just doing things to resolve it. Should be done with creativity, persistence and ingenuity.
- Will: how we deal with what we can't control, building inner fortitude and strength to control our response to obstacle, understanding our own mortality. Accepting what happened, even bad, while embracing and loving it. Going through it as using the chance to practice excellence, patience and courage.

What stood out from chapter 4 was that problems will only go away and improve if you face them and overcome them. The chapter teaches us that it's okay to have problems, we remember how we overcame that problem and will encourages us to be able to do it again if needed. They also aid us in helping others, if you have faced a problem and see others struggling with that problem, it gives you more of a better opportunity to be there for them and to assist them in their problem.

1. What are 3 key points from Chapter 4 that stand out to you. Please post them in this thread. ÃÃÂ
First, problems should be treasured as they are beneficial. Problems can assist us in overcoming from our ‘denial stage’. It is incorrect to always perceive them as “bad” because they can help us improve and become better.
Second, one of the things which problems lead us to become seeking and asking for help. This not only helps you to receive the support you need, but also strengthens relationships within communities and build trust.
Third, problems make us grow to be a stronger person than you were before you encountered the problem. Avoiding and denying the problem is not a solution to solving of the problem and instead we must face it so it can be used positive to develop our innersole.
2. Watch this overview video by Ryan Holiday on his book the Obstacle is the way.. In your own words, please identify and describe the 3 key components he outlined in the video. ÃÃÂ
Perception: Perception is the way we look, see or interpret a problem. All problems has stories that are based on different people’s interpretations, which are not entirely accurate because our perception is limited.
Action: Action is simply what we do and how we react to the problem. It connects to how we handle the problem, face them, and try to solve them.
Will: Will is associated with strengthening our internal self by accepting the things which we cannot control. We need to understand out ability and out current situation to do this.

1. What are 3 key points from Chapter 4 that stand out to you. Please post them in this thread.
3 key points:
1. Problems are gifts. Problem helps us face reality, like in Matrix how Neo took the blue pill. Problems force us to change instead of remaining stuck in a bad situation. Therefore they will help us grow and level up.
2. Problems teach us to ask for help, therefore they ecnourage us to be vulnerable in front of others. This requires bravery and courage.
3. Problems help us to be more caring, compassionate and opened towards others. If things were always easy for us, we would not understand when others struggle.
2. Watch this overview video by Ryan Holiday on his book the Obstacle is the way.. In your own words, please identify and describe the 3 key components he outlined in the video.
3 key components:
-Perception: There is no such thing as setback or obstacle, there is only oppotunity to do something differently.
-Action: Respond to problem with creativity and persistence, to take action and do something about it, eventually you can take adventage of the problem and turn it into an opportunity.
-Will: We don't control what's outside of us, therefore it's important to embrace and accept whatever happenes to us and even learn to enjoy it.
