If you don't have the book, then you can download it for free on Amazon here. If you do not have access to Amazon please download it here. Once done reading, post here to earn the soul searcher  badge.

2. What was  most important lesson you learned from the story of Ancora (Chapter 1)?  Â

3. How can we learn and help others get more comfortable with the idea that asking for help - or experiencing need - is a strength or a skill that we need to develop to help one another grow stronger?

1. What was the thing that stood out to you most in the introduction?

The thing that stood out to me most was the 7 Cups of tea and how each cup has different meanings. I found that incredibly insightful and refreshing!

2. What was the most important lesson you learned from the story of Ancora (Chapter 1)?

I learned that closing ourselves off and keeping things to ourselves without getting help is detrimental for our mental wellbeing as well as the people around us. Asking for help is essential in allowing us to have a channel to release the pent up negative emotions that've been subconsciously influencing how we act and think. If we choose to close ourselves off, the people around us will suffer from the consequences of our actions and in the long run, we end up hurting ourselves and more people than before.

3. How can we learn and help others get more comfortable with the idea that asking for help - or experiencing need - is a strength or a skill that we need to develop to help one another grow stronger?

We can encourage the culture of asking for help in the 7 Cups community! With different forum threads and group support rooms, 7 Cups is actively creating a mutual culture where people are brave enough to ask for help and support others through tough times. It is the non-judgemental environment that makes it easy for one to open up and grow stronger as part of the community.

1.What was the thing that stood out to you most in the introduction?
I loved the 7 cups of tea by Lu Tong and the three points mentioned in the welcome note.

2. What was most important lesson you learned from the story of Ancora (Chapter 1)?

The most important lesson I learned from the story of Ancora is that live ,hope and compassion goes a long way in helping people.

3. How can we learn and help others get more comfortable with the idea that asking for help - or experiencing need - is a strength or a skill that we need to develop to help one another grow stronger?

It gets overwhelming, if you constantly keep it bottled inside. Therefore, one should share with someone they are comfortable with.

1. What was the thing that stood out to you most in the introduction?

I really liked these main 3 points. It definitely made me feel more confident and trusting in the material within the book and myself. We often forget to tell ourselves we can do it and there are some people that do not hear "I believe in you" from others. Even reading it in your head as you read the words was just as powerful as telling yourself or someone else telling you. I think it is often forgotten that personal growth is not an easy road; it takes time, effort, and energy to grow and make progress and I think that reminder was very important as well. As for the no judgement point, I think this ties in with the first chapter. Everyone has their own problems/issues that they may feel is shameful or that was their fault and that they have to suffer or there is no way to heal, and it is very pertinent to tell ourselves that no matter what happened in the past or what is happening now, we can always make a difference moving forward, working on ourselves and/or asking for help.

2. What was the most important lesson you learned from the story of Ancora (Chapter 1)?

The most important lesson within this story was that masking a problem or avoiding it does more damage than good. The wealthy people of Ancora used devices and other methods to repress the fear or treat the symptom of the virus, but they were too ashamed or scared to admit that they had need. Facing the fear was the solution to the problem and to build resilience.

3. How can we learn and help others get more comfortable with the idea that asking for help - or experiencing need - is a strength or a skill that we need to develop to help one another grow stronger?

I think that being open with one another and admitting our problems to others is a good start. By sharing your negative/hard experiences in your life, others can realize they are not alone and that they are allowed to ask for help and that this will help them. I think definitely being able to admit and identify a problem or struggle is the first step to knowing when to help others/ask for help. Being more in tune with yourself and your emotions go a long way for yourself and to help others.

1. What was the thing that stood out to you most in the introduction?
The poem from Lu Tong! It was plain beautiful

2. What was  most important lesson you learned from the story of Ancora (Chapter 1)?  Â

It was really strange. But when I kept reading it felt like Ancora is just living my life. It was opening back the wounds. As if the same way I went thru is what he did too. And then later o saw him opening up and then healing all the process a person goes to I'm healing, falling etc.

7cups has done an amazing job as usual trying it's all to make people realize their personal growth.

3. How can we learn and help others get more comfortable with the idea that asking for help - or experiencing need - is a strength or a skill that we need to develop to help one another grow stronger?

By supporting them and understanding them soley. It's never easy to open up to people about your issues or what you are going through. Lend them a ear, epathize with them. And make them comfortable and make them realize that not every human are not worthy to not be able to trust. Make them really convinced that they are not alone!

1. 1. What was the thing that stood out to you most in the introduction?
That 7 cups are saying they believe in you even if you don’t see it yourself.

2. What was  most important lesson you learned from the story of Ancora (Chapter 1)?  Â
This was a really interesting story, I loved reading every second of it. I learnt that even if you feel ashamed about opening up, you need to as you will be stuck in the constant loop of silent suffering if you do not. The poor in the story weren’t ill with the disease as they show care and compassion compared to those who were higher class.

3. How can we learn and help others get more comfortable with the idea that asking for help - or experiencing need - is a strength or a skill that we need to develop to help one another grow stronger?

To let them know that I am there for them, to listen and to support them.

@GlenM 1. What was the thing that stood out to you most in the introduction?
We believe in you. I know sometimes it sounds strange. But when I read it, I found myself wanting to believe in myself. It stood out to me most in the introduction (:
2. What was the most important lesson you learned from the story of Ancora (Chapter 1)?
If I have a problem, I should admit it (building walls or running away won’t work) I can ask for help and receive it. It enables me to help others as well.

3. How can we learn and help others get more comfortable with the idea that asking for help - or experiencing need - is a strength or a skill that we need to develop to help one another grow stronger?
Though we usually shy away from getting help, we should be aware it doesn’t take us anywhere if we keep on this attitude. I remember what my friend told me once. She told me that it hurts her that I’m not ready to accept her help. She felt dejected, she said. At that time, I realized some people don’t take me as a burden. It’s okay to get help! We’re not weak to seek help. It creates a bond and it grows stronger from there.

I really enjoyed the part where the talked to the reader, and said, “We believe in you. We are not interested in judging you.” I think this really opens up the atmosphere to be a safe space.

2. What was the most important lesson you learned from the story of Ancora (Chapter 1)?

“While fear triggers the virus, the only cure was true human care and compassion.”

3. How can we learn and help others get more comfortable with the idea that asking for help - or experiencing need - is a strength or a skill that we need to develop to help one another grow stronger?

I think we can help others get comfortable with the idea of asking for help, by asking for help ourselves! We can display our own strength when asking for help, and by modeling that behavior, may lead others to recognize it as a strength versus a weakness.

1. What was the thing that stood out to you most in the introduction?

I liked how warm and encouraging it was, and that it tried to establish a feeling of peace within the reader.

2. What was  most important lesson you learned from the story of Ancora (Chapter 1)?  Â

We shouldn’t run away from fears, we should face them.

3. How can we learn and help others get more comfortable with the idea that asking for help - or experiencing need - is a strength or a skill that we need to develop to help one another grow stronger?

To help others get more comfortable: We should accept people warmly when they ask for help. Leading by example and not being afraid to ask for help will also create a culture where needing help is seen as normal.

To help ourselves get more comfortable: practice asking for help from others, and reminding ourselves that no one is perfect and everyone needs help from time to time.

@anjellyna accepting people when they ask for help is amazing <3 it can really help to get people comfortable with sharing and seeking support. it'll also help them to learn that it's okay to express a need for comfort/help and to have these negative emotions. it's good to let them know that you're there for them to talk about it with :)

1. What was the thing that stood out to you most in the introduction?

That needs to make you do something to fulfill them. Also, how relevant that is to today.

2. What was the most important lesson you learned from the story of Ancora (Chapter 1)? Without receiving help with your own fear, you will not be able to truly help anyone else.

3. How can we learn and help others get more comfortable with the idea that asking for help - or experiencing need - is a strength or a skill that we need to develop to help one another grow stronger? Set an example, it is both strength and skill to develop, if you do not ask you cannot receive.

@MinisterMichelle i also loved the part about not being to truly help others without overcoming fear of seeking help first. others may also be in a vulnerable position to share in the beginning and you may have an idea of how to help them get comfortable with that and know that it's okay ! <3
