2. What was  most important lesson you learned from the story of Ancora (Chapter 1)?  Â

3. How can we learn and help others get more comfortable with the idea that asking for help - or experiencing need - is a strength or a skill that we need to develop to help one another grow stronger?

1. What was the thing that stood out to you most in the introduction?

Something that stood out to me in the introduction was the passage on personal growth. It’s awesome how it mentions that personal growth is difficult. Things won’t magically be alright. There will be good times and there will be the bad times. And it’s never too late to get on the right path. This is truly an important reminder.

2. What was the most important lesson you learned from the story of Ancora (Chapter 1)?

Ans: It’s surprising and eye opening. Yet, in some way, it’s so very common. The most important lesson would be that when faced with fear, we like to try and control all the external sources. I think sometimes one merely needs to sit down and reflect on what’s inside. That’s when we can figure out what we truly need. People from advanced societies find it easier (as compared to poorer people) to shield and mask their suffering. One may experience pain when going through the hard times, but it hurts much more to suffer alone. In order to reach out for help, we need to accept the problem. This leads to the creation of the healthy cycle mentioned at the end of chap.1.

3. How can we learn and help others get more comfortable with the idea that asking for help - or experiencing need - is a strength or a skill that we need to develop to help one another grow stronger?

I think the main idea here is to try to and normalize it. It shouldn’t be seen as a weakness, or as something that is looked down upon by society. As mentioned in the question, it is a strength which can benefit not only us but the people around us as well! So, to conclude, I’d like to say that we can do our part by simply letting people know that it’s okay to reach out for help and by doing so ourselves, we set a good example.

What stood out to me were the quotes which made me feel empowered. I felt really grateful and proud of myself when reading the inspiring quotes about decision making.

The lesson I learned from the story of Ancora is that it is okay to need help. No one can do everything on their own, that's unreasonable, and people are happy to help you.

I think it is important to stress the importance of seeking for help when needed to the community. We have lots of support rooms that help with this.

1. What was the thing that stood out to you most in the introduction?

1.I like the paragraph where they state we believe in you…

2. “. This is just life. This is how it is.”

3.About the growth path – “ You won’t stay on the path. You’ll get lost. You’ll get distracted. That’s okay. When this happens, just brush yourself off and make your way back to the path. Don’t spend any time beating yourself up. Just pick yourself up and take that next step forward. The path is always there. It is always waiting for you”

I like this above statement and content more. As it make me feel normal, acceptable and it make me feel we should not like ourself only when we do good but it more about rising when we fall and not to be hard on ourself. Life is not a rule book or a crystal clear.

We should enjoy the fall and rising up and keep trying keep working. Enjoy the process instead of destination.

2. What was  most important lesson you learned from the story of Ancora (Chapter 1)?  Â

Whatever financial status all face problem and fear in life. Mostly it assumption that richer life is better as their struggle for basic need is not there. They look their happiness in materialistic thing and pretend that everything fine. But deep down they too have fear and problem. They struggle more in asking help as people expect their life is picture perfect.

In contrast to poor people who accept their problem and fear without much hestitation. They are more ready to ask for help and the circle say when need arise .. we ask help.. when we get help.. we help other.. so they are more socialise to help each other and internally more happy as they have people who care about them and in return they are their for them. There is nothing to be pretend to be picture perfect.

Secondly, the solution was discovered by the scientific who was not from richer background. So I feel all area of people experience should be welcome to get more idea and experience sharing. Definitely it lead to solution.

So life is not for solving thing all alone. We can ask other also to guide to help us and share their experience so be more aware.

Maybe we knock 10 door and 9 might not answer. Definitely one door will be open to help us and that what we needed. So never lose hope in trying.

3. How can we learn and help others get more comfortable with the idea that asking for help - or experiencing need - is a strength or a skill that we need to develop to help one another grow stronger?

This question seem tough to answer. People sometime ready to ask for help but sometime they don’t get that support. They disheartened and feel lonely. Stop trying to ask help.

So, we have to start from ourself first. Set example to our friend and relative and kids. That helping other is our humanity and we do what the best we can do.

We are there for each other. Today you need my help tomorrow I might need you. It like together we walk far .. alone we might tired in-between.

The most we are all human and be open rather than assuming they have better life and more happy but they might have not same problem but other problem.

Life is not easy for anybody.

Keeping check to people we know.. or a simple message hey how are you? you know I am there for u. Feel free to call and talk.

Keeping our door open so they can reach us.

While helping other do active listening and make them comfortable. As people always fear of judgemental or their secret get disclosure if relationship get spoil.

Hello friends :)

1. What was the thing that stood out to you most in the introduction?

The informal/ casual tone with which it was written. It was like a friend talking to you. A friend who has faced struggles and challenges and now just wants to support you while you’re feeling down.

2. What was the most important lesson you learned from the story of Ancora (Chapter 1)?

Fear, Shame, Pain can all be put into a cauldron and turned into Love, Trust and Hope. The magic you need to do for it is simple yet difficult. We need to speak out freely and openly about our problems, what’s hurting us and not be afraid to ask for help.

3. How can we learn and help others get more comfortable with the idea that asking for help - or experiencing need - is a strength or a skill that we need to develop to help one another grow stronger?

By creating awareness and encouraging people to open up about what is bothering them. Most importantly, when someone does begin to share their problems, we need to simply listen and be there for them. Not minimize what they’re going through or judging how they’re dealing with it.

When gossip and backbiting are considered a part of our everyday lives (i.e talking about others and their problems), it’s quite surprising to note that asking for help for our own problems, isn’t.

Hello Everyone!

1. What was the thing that stood out to you most in the introduction?
I adored the introduction part. What stood out to me were the three main ideas given in the introduction part, "we believe in you", "we are not interested in judging you" and "personal growth is not easy". These are truly extraordinary!

2. What was most important lesson you learned from the story of Ancora (Chapter 1)?
The lesson I learned from the Story of Ancora was that hope, trust and love go far as a cure. Human consideration and empathy are additionally incredible methods of cure that are underestimated. Likewise, it is okay to ask for help.

3. How can we learn and help others get more comfortable with the idea that asking for help - or experiencing need - is a strength or a skill that we need to develop to help one another grow stronger?
We learn and help others get more comfortable with the idea that asking for help or experiencing need is a strength or a skill that we need to develop to help one another grow stronger by offering support at whatever point asked and being compassionate, kind, and empathetic. We need to build a nonjudgmental environment of trust, empathy, and compassion, which will carry a lot of positive energy. We can set an example and encourage others by requesting help and supporting any individual who needs assistance with respect.

Thank You!

Be the change that you wish to see in the world.

1. What was the thing that stood out to you most in the introduction?

The thing that stood out the most was the poem about 7 cups in the very beginning. It piqued my interest. It developed the keenness needed to navigate further into the book. The beautiful statements in the introduction were also wonderful. It forced me to reflect upon myself and think about my life.

2. What was  most important lesson you learned from the story of Ancora (Chapter 1)?  Â

The story was beautifully conveyed and the message was well hidden yet obvious to the naked eye. I can agree, Humans were always designed to solve problems together. We celebrate the joys together, we comfort each others in sorrow, we fight our wars together and we find comfort together. Imagine if all mankind was wiped out, and a single person was left standing, they would probably go insane sooner or later due to the loneliness. Love, Hope and trust is something we experience due to the social interactions.

3. How can we learn and help others get more comfortable with the idea that asking for help - or experiencing need - is a strength or a skill that we need to develop to help one another grow stronger?

As being extremely introverted and shy myself, i can relate how hard it is for me to get help. I never share and just keep everything to myself. There are a lot of reasons people are afraid to ask for help. These include but are not limited to fear of judgements, embarassment, Not enough trust built, Lack of confidence and very low mutual understanding. What we can try instead is taking the initiative to approach people who are in distress, getting them to open up and supporting them without conditions or judgements. We must normalize seeing people who are seeking help as strong and mature, instead of depicting them as weak and pitiful.

1. What was the thing that stood out to you most in the introduction?

Working through our individual and collective shadows in order to build communities

2. What was  most important lesson you learned from the story of Ancora (Chapter 1)?  Â

We are all human beings and we all have needs that need to be met. And these needs can be met by the collective.

3. How can we learn and help others get more comfortable with the idea that asking for help - or experiencing need - is a strength or a skill that we need to develop to help one another grow stronger?

By moving away from fear and denial and facing our own internal conflicts and resolving them in a constructive and beneficial manner.

1. What was the thing that stood out to you most in the introduction?

I really liked 7 Cups of Tea, by Lu Tong

2. What was  most important lesson you learned from the story of Ancora (Chapter 1)?

The most important thing i learned from the story is that it's okay to ask for help. We need to break the thick walls that we have built around us and should let those people in our lives who really care about us.

3. How can we learn and help others get more comfortable with the idea that asking for help - or experiencing need - is a strength or a skill that we need to develop to help one another grow stronger?

We should understand that facing fear and pain with the help of others increases our capacity to recover quickly from difficulties.

What was the thing that stood out to you most in the introduction?

"You make sense in the larger story of your life." What stood out to me most was, that problems are natural part of life, challenges are unavoidable, even failures will happen, yet we believe any person makes sense in the larger part of their life (even when their past/present might say otherwise.)

What was most important lesson you learned from the story of Ancora (Chapter 1)?

Any virus, any disease (mental/physical), I believe has fear and isolation as its root cause. Should we create and build a harmonious space of leaning on one another, breaking the boundaries between a human and a human, life will come to feel satisfying (and inspiring as well).

In light of this understanding, I would like to highlight this excerpt from the story:

He developed a simple theory that, while fear triggers the virus, the only cure was true human care and compassion. He was able to show that in places where human need persisted, among the poor and hurting, people had no choice but to care for one another and provide for each other’s needs. This, he suggested, was why the virus was not able to grow in those parts of the world. The scientist was able to show something truly astounding: in the most dire situations, where the virus was expected to thrive, the virus was nearly eradicated when neighbors reached out to each other with care.

How can we learn and help others get more comfortable with the idea that asking for help - or experiencing need - is a strength or a skill that we need to develop to help one another grow stronger?

We need to start with being vulnerable to ourselves about our present problems and challenges -it needs to start with coming out of our denial and distractions. Next step would be to seek support and lean a little where there is support being offered.

@Fristo You make great points. As we separate from our distractions and face our vulnerabilities we are then able to focus on ourselves and reach out for help. It's so important to find support where it is offered. I like the excerpt from the story that you chose. It talks about not giving in to fear, but to have true human care and compassion. It talks about people coming together to care for one another and to provide for each other's needs.

1. The book is just great. The introduction is really awesome which makes the reader to read whole book. The best part of the introduction according to me is that three points. They're really motivating and very well explained. I totally agree with that. Moreover, in the end of second point, there was a statement You starting fresh now , I love it because there would be so many people who will change the way of their life after reading the book. So it would be really fresh start for them.

2. The most important lesson I have learnt from the chapter 1 is how to solve problems without worrying and fearing from them and help and care about others too. It's natural to afraid from the problems and we try to avoid them but that's not the way always to deal with it. We should try to be strong and face them and try to solve them. Moreover, think about others too. There are lots of people going through the same like you , so help and care about them too. It will help you to grow and making progress. And yeh one more important thing I learned money isn't everything. Money can make you to feel safe from the problems you are facing but it will make you weak and you can't progress by solving your problems.

3. Asking for help can make us feel embarrasse but we should try once to ask for help. Sometimes, it can be really hard to deal with your problems own your own and everyone needs help. And luckily after getting help we try to cope with our problems and we get out from it and we feel better. And we see others in the similar situation, and we try to help them. By helping others, we feel good and we learn more and we make progress to deal with our own problems too.

@LovdtoGod Starting fresh is really rejuvenating. It's important to help ourselves and other people. It's just important not to get burned out while helping them. Self-care and boundaries are really necessary.
