Please list some advantages of a diverse team.
Some advantages of a diverse team are a larger and broader range of perspectives, the ability to reach people outside of our own community/culture, the ability to help people in other time zones and the chance to learn about different cultures!
How can we be respectful of different cultures on 7 Cups? We can be respectful of different cultures by rising above stereotypes, being respectful of different beliefs and consider time differences!

-It provide rooms for increased creativity as said by Edward Enninful
"I can tell you, without diversity, creativity remains stagnant"
How can we be respectful of different cultures on 7 Cups?
-We can be respectful of different cultures on 7cups by considering other people cultural differences in Communication and interaction. And by being open to other people idea and willingness to know about it. Inquisitiveness and desire to see situation and response through another person's cultural lense is another way to respect and value others culture.
@Beaconx
Inquisitiveness is a great point!
Well done 👏

New perspectives! Learn about different cultures and practices! Our members are diverse people. so our listeners and leaders should be as well!
How can we be respectful of different cultures on 7 Cups?
Always give the benefit of the doubt. What might seem disrespectful in your culture might be okay in someone else's.
@freshMint9376
Love your response! Giving the benefit of the doubt can be really helpful.
@freshMint9376
Ooh, I love that you included "always give the benefit of doubt" because in all situations it is always good to not assume the worst in people and instead to think of the possible reasons behind it. New perspectives and appealing to the more diverse people are also super important :) Also, I completely agree that there are a lot of things that might be disrespectful in our culture but is actually good in another, and as you mentioned, a benefit of doubt is always good!
@DayDreamWithYou
"giving benefit of doubt" yes i love it too. As it give chance to open up our mind and ready to listen other or room to understand them.
Good answer
Please list some advantages of a diverse team.
-A diverse team means that people might have different perspectives, which can lead to different types of ideas, and way more creativity.
-A diverse team can also allow you to learn about different cultures/beliefs/ideals, which can be really helpful in all situations knowing about different types of people, and can help you grow in different skills.
-We can also reach more people outside of our own culture.
How can we be respectful of different cultures on 7 Cups?
-Rise above stereotypes! This is a really important one, sometimes we hear a stereotype and immediately believe that all people that are associated with that culture fit in that stereotype. This also includes "positive stereotypes."
-Respect individuals beliefs. Accept that e people might have different beliefs from yours, and that is okay! Don't push your beliefs on others, and accept that someone might not be comfortable with a certain task of it contradicts their beliefs.
-Consider time zones! Since there are people from all over the world, a tome that works for you might not work for someone else because of time differences.

Great answer!
@hopedreamlove
I definitely think the points about rising above stereotypes and not pushing beliefs on others is important.
@InvaderStitch
I too relate with your post of " Idefinitely think the points about rising above stereotypes and not pushing beliefs on others is important
@hopedreamlove
Love that you brought up the point about "positive stereotypes". All sterotyping is unhelpful and can be damaging in some way.
@hopedreamlove Thumbs up
@hopedreamlove
Good one :)

good thoughts!
Well done 👍🏻
@Heather225
What it means to work with a diverse team 🤔. Well for starters, we all know that we all come from various parts of the world on this platform. I feel as though we can teach each other some things: Patience and comradery. Reading over the part about English being a second language to some members and listeners, patience is going to come in handy. It is easy to forget that some people cannot speak good English and it can be reflected in their typing skills. Exhibiting patience and helping them where they struggle to be able to both communicate effectively is important. Working with a diverse team is beneficial because we can learn from one another and show each other support on a constant basis. We are not alone and we all care about each others well-being; thats why we are on this platform!
@shiningDay80
This is a great answer. Good job :)
@shiningDay80
I agree, it is really easy to forget that English may not be the first language to some users on the platform! So it is all the more important to be mindful of our teammates and to have patience.

I really appreciate how you highlight the fact that this platform is acessable to people all over the world, and that the different cultures involved need different things and may communicate in different ways. I agree that this is one thing that makes this place great.

🌸 Diversity is beautiful! We get to learn so much about people from different background, we learn to respect and be patient,understanding , brings a whole lot of life and creativity to the table
How can we be respectful of different cultures on 7 Cups?
🌸 By being inclusive of everyone, not judging someone on the basis of their differences (because that's what making them unique), respecting the differences, learning more about their culture, being understanding about the different timezones.
@ahealingEndoftherainbow22
I couldn't agree more, diversity is beautiful! We should celebrate our differences, not shove them away ♥

How can we be respectful of different cultures on 7 Cups?
We can be respectful of different cultures on 7 Cups by rising above stereotypes, being respectful of individual beliefs and values, and be mindful of schedules & time-zones. Lastly, we need to be respectful and mindful of people who learned or who are learning English as a second language.

Please list some advantages of a diverse team.
A diverse team is likely to be more creative, productive and innovative.
How can we be respectful of different cultures on 7 Cups?
We should rise above stereotypes and shouldn't judge people belonging to a different culture based on the prevalent stereotypes about their culture.
We should try to learn about a different culture. It makes us feel good if someone from a different culture knows about our culture and is respectful to it. Others too feel good if we take interest in learning about their culture and are respectful to their culture.
It is nice to wish people belonging to a different culture on their festival.
We should be respectful of individual beliefs. Someone's opinion may contradict our opinion. In such cases, we should be respectful to them and work together for common ground. We shouldn't force upon a task to someone who is not comfortable doing so.
@shiningSound31
I think the last point that you made is important: we will not always agree with everyone that we come across, and it is important to learn how to work around our differences. Diversity forces us to face new ideas and beliefs and can challenge our pre-existing ones, which can enable us to be more open, understanding, and empathetic.
@shiningSound31
Your explanation for making a more respectful community is extremely good and makes sense. Good job!
@BookChunky
Thank you, Chunky for liking my response. Your kind and a warm reply to my response is really an encouragement to me. Thank you, Chunky
Please list some advantages of a diverse team.
Diversity can bring about different perspectives and backgrounds and beliefs, which brings more ideas to the table and more approaches to solutions. Diversity also increases our acceptance of each other: knowing that others are different, and being able to celebrate our difference, makes us a stronger team altogether.
How can we be respectful of different cultures on 7 Cups?
To be respectful of different cultures, I think it is first important to acknowledge that 7 Cups has a platform that stretches around the globe, so you will find people from all sorts of backgrounds here. It is important to approach everyone you meet with an open mind, and an understanding that there will be differences, whether it be in practices or beliefs, but ultimately, we are all share at least one thing together: membership in this caring community.
@IvyL
This is really good explanation and clear response. :)
@IvyL
Loved your answer! I loved how you put that we all share membership in this caring community.
I would like advice about something related to this. I work at a call center as a customer support agent for a tax software and with English being my second language, many American customers are very rude to me. I take it personally and end up wanting to cry after a lot of calls. Can you help me navigate this difficulty?
@norahdavex
Hello norah. I am really sorry to hear you had such an awful experience. I think working with people is often difficult because not all people are open-minded and emphatetic. My advise would be to kindly state that you are doing your best and that you really wish to give the assistance they need. I am not sure whether they are being rude to you because of English or just the fact that it is a call centre as I heard way too many similar experience from people working in call centres. I think it would be a good idea to talk to someone here on 7 cups when you feel terribly like that even though I am not sure whether that would be possible at that moment when you are at work. However, it is also good in my opinion just to talk to someone about it at the end of the day. Another thing to keep in mind is that it seems like you are really trying because you are asking how to manage it better but I can understand that it is difficult not to take these comment personally. I think it would be also a good idea to review this presentation that talks about burn-out: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1Cn4qDGLC7-8JI_MkUP3GNBKMEsYDwGO7MbA2Fa7ozL4/edit. I hope this answer helps. When you feel sad again and you feel like you need someone to talk to, then remember that you can message me and we can talk about it together! Stay strong!
