Hey, friends! Welcome back to my meadow.

I wanted to post this on the 17th, but the forums weren’t working:

Today’s entry will be a lighthearted one full of happy things!

My friend Jocelyn and I have been talking, spending time together at lunch and just generally getting to know each other better. She bought me a flower and wrote me a nice note for Valentine’s Day.

Lizzie from science class has been a great friend. Talking with her during science class is always a highlight of my day and I appreciate her help with the science content. She also gave me some delicious baked goods from her food class.

Seneca bought me a rose, wrote me a note, gave me chocolate, and made me a paper star for Valentine’s Day.

Nutritional foods (cooking class) has been going great as we’re wrapping up this trimester. We’ve been doing a lot of labs (cooking/baking) as opposed to learning about nutrients and foods around the world, etc. which is always nice because I love cooking and baking! I just find it really fun and I’m glad to be able to be in a food class.

We've had some summative assignments in science class, which I’ve been doing pretty well on.

My dog and I have been continuing working on dog agility. It’s so fun, and we’re doing fantastic! I will post a video of us running the course when I get a chance.

I’ve been listening to Ava Max’s new album “Diamonds & Dancefloors” nonstop. The songs are so catchy.

A behavioral interventionist talked to the girl who bullied me and gave her consequences. She’s not going to talk to me again.

I love playing the Sims 4, so I’ve been spending some of my time doing that! I’m working on building a mansion for all 21 of my characters to live in.

I was very confused with my math homework, but my math teacher helped me and I’m a lot less confused now.

As part of my child development class, two mothers brought in their babies, toddlers, and preschoolers. There were five little ones total. We observed them play, which was refreshing because I can’t even remember the last time I’ve been around small children.

Welcome back to my meadow, friends! It’s time for another entry.

I’ve been talking to my IRL friends (Kat, Rosalie, Cameron, Selena, Nora, Charlotte, Ava, Allison, Sonja, Kamillah, Delilah, Emma, Kalia, Amita, Eliza, Seneca, Maria, Lauren, Rachel, Lizzie, Jocelyn, and Nalada). They’re so amazing and I’m lucky to have them in my life.

I’m going to Aulani, a Disney resort in Oahu, Hawaii, over spring break, and I’m sooo excited!! I went there when I was eight, but that was ages ago, before my parents were even divorced. It’s going to be amazingly fun, I can’t wait. I’ve already packed my clothes after making sure they still fit, and I’m ordering a new outfit, too.

I hung out with one of my best friends, Kat. We talked, walked my dog, and watched a show on Netflix. It was great to see her again, it had been a while.

My friend Lizzie had to do a difficult and important speech. It was five paragraphs in Spanish that she had to memorize. I’m proud of her for getting through it, she did amazing.

I got 10/10 on one of my last science tests and 11/11 on a geometry test. I also won 4th place in a Kahoot for my science class. I’m proud because I worked really hard and studied a lot and it paid off, so yay!

Some foods I’ve either made recently or am going to make soon: a certain type of Chilean bread, noodles and garlic shrimp, and Oreo cake. I find cooking and baking really fun because I follow directions and get a delicious result. I’m definitely the type of person who likes step by step directions, so when I actually get something out of following them, I find that pretty satisfying. On top of that, making food involves using your hands and it smells good, so it’s also a nice sensory experience.

I was walking my dog and my neighbors were out so I got to meet them. There was a grandma and her grandson who was just a baby, and the grandma asked if her grandson could pet my dog. I said yes and that he’s very friendly but a bit skittish with meeting new people sometimes. The grandma introduced herself and her grandson. I introduced myself and said I’m taking a child development class and that if Elliot’s (the baby’s) mom ever needed a mother’s helper I’d be open to being one. She said that would be great and asked how old I was. I said I was fourteen, and she was like, “You’re fourteen? Wow, I thought you were a young adult! You carry yourself so maturely.” That made me really happy. Then, the baby’s mother came out of their house and the grandma introduced me as Everett and I said, “Hi, I’m fourteen, I’m taking a child development class and I was wondering if you’d be interested in having me as a mothers helper.” We exchanged phone numbers, so I’m excited to see how this turns out! It’s cool to be old enough to do these sorts of things now.

I baked chocolate caramel cookies and shortbread cookies for my friends at high school!

One day, Seneca complimented me three times in the span of like, a minute. I was still processing like an hour later, haha. She complimented my singing, my baking, and my hairstyle. She’s the best, I swear.

Welcome back to my meadow! Here's today's entry.

I'm leaving for Aulani, a Disney resort in Oahu, Hawaii, tomorrow! I went there when I was eight, but that was ages ago before my parents were even divorced. It's going to be amazingly fun, I can't wait. I'll be sure to post lots of pictures!

My brother (who is almost 9) has a friend named Frank. Frank is autistic and can't read yet. He's my favorite of my brother's friends because he's so calm and polite. Frank, unfortunately, doesn't have friends other than my brother and the kids at school are mean to him sometimes. While he was at childcare, he was playing with some older boys, and they started hitting him with sticks and dragging him around by his arms and legs. They told him it was part of the game and that this is what friends do when they play, and Frank believed them. When Frank comes over, he plays video games with my brother, but when they're not playing, I am teaching him his alphabet, reading him simple books, and talking with him (he likes talking to me about video games, animals, etc.). After the incident at childcare, I had a talk with him and taught him that good friends are kind and caring and don't touch you in ways you don't want to be touched. I'm glad I can be a positive older figure in his life.
