Star gazing ✨🔭

Aimperfectsoul March 8th

Hey fellows,

I love to star gaze. There's something truly magical about looking up at the night sky and getting lost in the vastness of space, don't you agree?

It brings calmness and a sense of well-groundedness

I'd love to hear from all of you! Have you had any memorable experiences while exploring the night sky? Share your thoughts, tips, and favorite celestial sights below

@Aimperfectsoul     the night sky truely does something to the soul. I don't know if you believe in God, but I do. in the scriptures it says that god knows every name of every star. it also says that he knows each of our names as well. looking at the night sky reminds me that god knows me. he knows my name. he knows my trials. my strengths, weaknesses, every flaw yet he still knows and loves me. he knows this about you, and everyone else too. because of this it also serves as a reminder to love all people. . . no matter how annoying they might be lol. everyone deserves love. everyone deserves someone who appreciates them. appreciate every star out there as if it was a person. the stars serve as a deep inner reflection source. I believe that it brings down the walls and brings vulnerability. the good kind.

@EmmyMarie06 Looking up at the night sky feels really special to me. It's like I'm connecting with something bigger than just us humans. I believe in a higher power, and it's comforting to think that this power knows all the stars and even knows each of us.

In Hindu stories, there's a constellation called the Great Bear, or Saptarishi in Hindi. They represent seven wise and pure sages. These sages are thought to have helped shape the universe with their spiritual knowledge and teachings.

When I see the stars, like the Great Bear, it reminds me of how big and amazing the world is. It also reminds me that we're all connected in a special way. Each star is different, just like every person is unique, and that's something to appreciate.

@Aimperfectsoul Where I lived, there was so much light pollution, you could barely see any stars in the sky! Now I have moved, and I can see so many at night, it is absolutely mesmerizing. I went from seeing 1-2 stars at night, to ever so many. Often I find myself lost in them. I can never imagine taking such a sight for granted. Even now I remember so many others who look up at night and see the inky blackness i was so used to it. And now I have the great privilege to be lost in the stars, as the world around me settles down to sleep the night away ✨

I'm not quite familiar with constellations [though I know their names] and I'm no professional Stargazer who uses a telescope and charts the stars butttt. I've researched Astronomy/Astrophysics extensively, so, while I'm probably not quite an expert, I'm definitely a bit of a nerd hahaha-

The point is, I've always felt deeply connected to the night sky. Most people are afraid of the dark and such, but I've honestly felt so comfortable, more comfortable at night then during the day. It's become a second home to me almost. There's something about it that just...just makes me realize the important things, helps me see the bigger picture. And honestly? Looking up there at the moon and the many starry jewels accompanying her, I can't help but wonder if home is up there, and if there's a part of my soul, my being that originated up in the cosmos.

I think it also holds a special signifigance because my mother and I used to set up chairs on the porch every night and just sit-sometimes with tea or coffee, sometimes without-and have deep conversations.

Also, mom and I are both huge fans of astronomical events, so whenever a lunar or solar eclipse was due, we'd make preparations to view it.

We even got to see the super blue blood moon of 2018. I decided to make a night of it so I planned food, games, and other activites for the whole family and we all stayed up late until we could view this priceless event.

Another special moment was the first time I saw Saturn through the telescope. It was at this Astronomy Club meeting mom decided to take me to, and gosh. It literally blew my mind. It was just trippy seeing every little detail, even its rings.

Truly a humbling experience.

Another Astronomy related thing engraved in my mind is a meteor-shower that took place around the winter of last year.

Now, I have never witnessed a shooting star, or a meteor shower, so this time, I was determined to witness one, so I just kept my eyes on the sky. There were several times I thought I saw one, but it was just a trick of the light. Then it happened. I saw that streak of light. Just for a moment. But I knew. Somehow I just knew I'd seen what I'd been looking for. I have never been happier or more excited in my lifeeee. And then I got to see more of these mini-miracles.

But liike...it was such an awesome, fulfilling experience. 10/10 would lose sleep to see another meteor shower.

So yeah, the night sky and I, we go back a little ways :P

Okayyy one more addendum then I'm finished :P BUT I'm connected to the night sky in one more way-it might just be a family legend, but according to my mom, I was born during a blood moon. I've always found that meaningful.

I 100% agree. Space absolutely fascinates me, it's so vast and beautiful. We recently had a total solar eclipse where I live and it was a spectacle to watch. I think it's interesting that since light takes a while to travel, what we see when we look into space is actually from millions of years ago since it takes light that long to get to us. Even the sun takes about 8 minutes for its light to reach Earth. Do you have a favorite planet? Or any part of space?

@Aimperfectsoul

I dream of seeing stars. Where I live there is too much light pollution. 😔

To think an exploding star scatters , those scattering pieces are with us all as we as atoms, is truly amazing and that beauty u see, is also within us all too
