cut top of a Pineapple and grew
I bought this pineapple from Walmart for $1.00. I enjoyed that pineapple so much. The top I cut off and put some root growth on the cut end and put it in some dirt, and just look, it has grown so big. I am amazed at how well it took off. Tell me what you think??? I can't wait to eat it😂
@WorkingitThrough2
Amazing! It looks so beautiful and full of life!
A successful gardening adventure.
Which started eating such a delicious tropical fruit!
@HealingTalk
This was my 3rd attempt at doing this and finally got it right😂
@WorkingitThrough2 Omgosh! No way! 😲 This is so cool! I'm gonna have to try this! 😊
@mytwistedsoul
Yes, please do try this❤️. I don't know how long or big it will get now that winter is coming🤔
@WorkingitThrough2 I put buy a pineapple on the shopping list 🙂 I read that it can take 2-3 years before they flower and produce fruit. So cool! 😊
@WorkingitThrough2 I think it's fairly easy to grow the plant. Getting it to fruit is another thing.
Good luck though. They make a nice house plant.
@TawkToMe
Oh My, really? I was hoping to get a pineapple from this. Well if I don't it was a good experiment LOL😂
Thanks for letting me know❤️
@TawkToMe
Hey, look what I found out????
The time it takes for a pineapple plant to grow depends on various factors. On average, it takes about 24 to 36 months for a pineapple plant to grow a mature fruit from the time of planting1. However, the exact duration can vary based on factors such as growing conditions, temperature, soil quality, and the amount of water and sunlight the plant receives1.
If you are growing a pineapple from a seed, it typically takes around 12 months for the fruit to reach full size2. Pineapple plants have a life cycle of about eight months, with the first month being the growth phase when the plant grows new leaves and roots2. The next six months are the growing season when the pineapple plant will grow in size and produce fruit2.
Please note that these are average estimates, and the actual time may vary depending on specific conditions and pineapple varieties.
@WorkingitThrough2 I didn't mean to say it's impossible.
I drove by the pineapple farms on Oahu. The fruit grows at the end of a stalk, it looks like a giant thistle.
The soil there was bright red. I'm not sure what makes it red (iron?), but, the plant might be really soil sensitive. Anyway, best of luck. Like I said, I've known people to keep them as house plants. I don't recall anyone's plant fruiting.

It is possible, and easy, to grow a pineapple plant indoors. Growing new
pineapple fruit is more difficult. To make full-sized pineapples, the plant
will ultimately need to get about six feet across and six feet tall. But, you
can grow it as an interesting indoor plant and even get it to produce fruit
(albeit small fruit) without letting it take over the living room.
@TawkToMe
thanks, that is very interesting and I am looking forward to being surprised by whatever it does😂
@WorkingitThrough2
You asked what projects I'm working on,
Well, I've been out of work all year. I just got hired to do some software work for a big bank. I'm looking forward to that.
I also have a car that 3 different mechanics have tried to fix and failed. I'm working figuring that out. It's an electrical problem.
@WorkingitThrough2
And, I'm going out for karaoke which I've previously said, "Is the answer to all your problems."

@TawkToMe
Have you found anyone else to work on your car? I am so sorry that no one has been able to find and fix the problem. I know that has to be inconvenient for you.❤️
@WorkingitThrough2 I've had people that tell me they'll take my money but no guarantees.
I'll figure it out.
@WorkingitThrough2 Oh my god, that's incredible! I didn't even think it was possible to do that. How long did it take to grow? I might want to try growing one myself. I hope you enjoy your pineapple once it's ready to eat!
@jzheng2025
Thanks for asking😊It took me 3 failed attempts before I got this one to grow. It has been about 3 or 4 months to get to this point😂
@WorkingitThrough2 Wow that's a really long time. I guess you REALLY wanted to grow a pineapple. 😲
@WorkingitThrough2 wow! So pineapples grow under the ground? That was a awesome idea. You could grow your own pineapple patch
