Really delicate and calming. What are they?

@recliningfate I'm not sure. I wish I knew more names of flowers. I get hopelessly lost in their beauty but don't always know their name.

I’m enjoying all these flowers!

Here's a kind of "photo dump." You will notice that this is mostly flowers. My realization yesterday when I was taking a photo of a very mature and beautiful lichen that had taken over a log, was that this is soooo limiting. I cannot upload a photo directly from my phone, so you will have to wait to see the lichen photo until I have transferred photos to my computer. (Computer person, any help with this? Some of us only have phones and therefore cannot upload photos from our phones.)

Here's the dump:

Apples from apple picking.

A surprise dahlia in the fall. You can see the brown autumn leaves around this surprise bloom I planted five or so years ago.

This plant has center leaves in the shape of a heart. I didn't buy it, but took a photo. Pro tip for those trying to save money: just take a photo of the plants you like, you don't have to buy all of them.

Lots of love and looking forward to seeing more plant photos. The lichen photo is coming, I promise, I just have to jump through a few hoops to give it to you.

@PatienceImpatiens I love clicking plants, well more like flowers for the most part, I do occasionaly also post them on an *** page I have: https://www.***.com/projectphone_/?hl=en

these 2 are my absolute favourites! you can see a bee going towards the flower in the second one, which makes it even prettier :>

@DeterministicRaven The bee going towards the flower adds such a special touch. Bees are indeed so essential to creation. I love your flower photos and am so glad you posted here!

Unfortunately I haven't gotten round to downloading the lichen (and mushroom!) photos so that I can upload them to this thread! But I wanted to wish all of you a plant-filled holiday season! I hope you can take lots of photos of plants you like and post them here! Carry on! Lots of love!

@PatienceImpatiens

Here's the lichen I promised you. The log is from a tree that is over 400 years old. Yes, I counted. The lichen, along with all the other rotting, gradually creates fertile soil and a "fungal network" that also allows trees to communicate with each other. Fascinating stuff. I like them lichens.

@PatienceImpatiens 400 years old! That's amazing! So cool you counted the rings 😊

Learning the forest communicates through fungal networks was quite integrating for me as it represents that everything is connected to me. There seems to be a really intentional way that elements are arranged.

Thank you for sharing this!

@recliningfate Yes, there's quite a bit of literature and scientific research on this communication at this point. Among other things I wish I was better at, it's quoting all this scientific research!

Wish I was organised enough to look after plants... I think I'd end up killing them!

Some of these plants are beautiful ❤️
