What are your favorite video games and why?
Hello everybody!
My name is Andrew and I am a listener here on 7 Cups of Tea. I just found this forum section and thought it would be a great opportunity to start to get involved in conversation with other gamers.
So my question to you is: what are your favorite video games and why are they your favorite? They can be for any system, including the system in your response would be even more awesome! I personally game on my PS3 and my recently bought PS4.
Here is a list of some of the games I like to play:
Grand Theft Auto V - Though this game has violent aspects to it, I really love the online play. The constant competition is something that keeps me busy and the race for money and power keeps me intrigued. I really love the immense amount of customization and immersement that the game allows because I can truly enjoy role playing in that whole world. I recently started playing on PS4 which opened it up to so much more and I really do enjoy it.
Battlefield 3 - While this may be a bit outdated with the releases of Battlefield 4 and Battlefield 1, I still really love this game. I still play on the PS3 so the servers are not always full but the maps and the gameplay are really fun. I love the teamwork that is in Battlefield as a whole and the actual tactic used as opposed to the wild play of other games like Call of Duty.
Fallout 4 - I have not actually played this game a ton yet but I enjoy what I've done so far. I played a bit with a friend on his system and liked the gameplay so I bought it when I got my PS4. I tried it with some of the mods but I am going to stick to normal, vanilla gameplay for now to just see how the game goes.
Counter Strike: Global Offensive - I actually play this game on PC but I don't have a great one so I don't get to play often. I find the playerbase hilarious and I think it is just a fun fps game.
Little Big Planet 2- This is the final one on the list, I have this game for PS3 and I have to say, I really enjoy playing the custom maps people do. They tend to put a lot of work and humor into it which just makes it a fun game to play in my spare time.
I am excited to hear from you all about your favorites!

Pretty much anything by Bethesda: Morrowind wasn't by any means the first game I ever played, but it was one of the first (besides ADOM) that I got into to a level where I felt like it affected my core identity. I've spent thousands of hours of my life on TES and Fallout games since.
Borderlands: 1, 2, and Pre-Sequel. Haven't played Tales. I love the cheekiness, the cel-shaded art style, and the quotaibility. Heavy enough on RPG and light enough on shooting elements that I could still get into it. Also gave me my first good co-op experiences.
Currently playing, and enjoying:
Bayonetta 2: A game that I really didn't think I would like, and never thought I could get decent at. It caught me completely by surprise in the likability of (some of) its characters, and how fluid and rewarding gameplay was. This game is both pure joy and pure frustration at the same time. Just got my overall rating up to gold on normal difficulty, something I've actually been working hard towards and feel some sense of accomplishment in.
Xenoblade Chronicles X: Bit of a hidden gem. I love open worlds, enjoy the amount of character customization and different combat mechanics. Mostly, I love jumping around an alien planet in a giant robot. Some moments of excellent writing, too, that make up for some flimsy and occasionally horribly annoying characters and trope-heaviness.
South Paaaaaark
@NotGoodAtEng Love the South Park games! : - )
2k18..... I love wwe
The Sims 2, 3, 4 (computer) - I wanted to forget my troubles, & feel like I have control over something. I could live out secret desires through this game. For example, achieving a high skill in something like guitar playing or cooking. Sometimes I just wanted to test out what it might be like to live a certain kind of life. Like having tons of kids and going a little crazy! I once spent an entire week playing this game during college Spring Break, only sleeping at night, snacking here and there.
Tropico 4 (computer) - I liked the sense of control you have. But I also have a desire for everyone to be happy so my goal is creating mini utopias, as crappy as these little towns are.
Civilization V (computer) - the sense of adventure, exploration, and acheivement! I like how this game has a narrator who reads a quote for each new thing your civ learns about. I wish there was less war and fighting. I usually stop playing if a big civ tries to take me over.. it's just not fun for me.
Little Big Planet (PS3) - it is like a secret world, especially the player created levels! Like exploring others' imaginations. I made a dinky level once, tried to fill it with my favorite objects.
Fat Princess (PS3) - the graphics are adorable. I like playing with others and working together toward a common goal. I don't like the fighting part.. I don't like the idea that I'm hurting someone. So I usually gather resources, or run around being the preist adding protection to other players. Ironically, even me helping my team is helping them hurt the other team. So there's that dilemma
Costume Quest 1 & 2 (PS3) - favorite graphic style ever. I enjoyed the story and there's a sense of adventure and exploration, so I've played both games more than once. I like that you have a little group with you after a while. Pretending to be a kid again going trick or treating and trying to save the world from monsters! I especially love the <3 fountain in CQ2. You can find a fountain with hearts on it and drink from the water to heal your character. When I first saw that, I had been thinking about how we have a fountain of love in our hearts that we can access once all the noise is out of the way. Seeing a visual representation about this in the game made it much more real to me.
@Samerina
Oh my god The Sims! I used to be soooooo addicted to it :) I stopped playing once I started seeing sims all around me, instead of real people :) Well it's obvious, isnt' it? You're managing someone's life. I loved that! There is a sense of making someting right. Everything is by the book, there are clear rules and everything is fair. Nothing like real life. A perfect getaway.
@Samerina I love the sims! I used to be obsessed with it! I would skip school just to play it haha
I play it here and there now. It's one of my favorites and reminds me of my childhood
@Samerina, mostly all good rpg game serries :')
I love games like WWE, TAKKEN, CALL OF DUTY, GTA5, WATCH DOGS@Samerina
I like RPGs and action RPGs like Final Fantasy. Being in a different world is cool. Also, solving tangible problems and finding a (usually) happy ending is just satisfying. The more old school the game is, the more traditional a path it follows. So if I cant knight saves princess type stores, I'd go for FFV or FFIV. FFXIII is a bit depressing for me even though it does it better, but it doesn't allow the freedom of exploration I like (until you get to a certain point).
Anyways, before I ramble too much, that's all. :D
@yellowPlum6677 I also love RPGs : - )
@yellowPlum6677 RPG <3
The Walking Dead season 1 is up there. I played it in elementary school, and it made me cry at the end. I had a blast playing it, and I will always rememebr the story and growing attached to the characters.
To The Moon is another good one. Again, it made me cry. Love the story as well, and I had a great time playing it.
Since I love South Park, The Stick of Truth and The Fractured But Whole are some of my favorite games. When TFBW came out, I played it every day. I had so much fun.
Fire Emblem are also some pretty neat games :-)
I could go on and on, really. I love video games, and many of them will always hold a special place in my heart
I love the IGI series, they're military themed, I've always wanted to be in the military
My favourite is hitman series cause its all about hitman
@Fearlesslake610

Metal Gear solid or Hitman because I like sneaking and killing people. Also, I like role playing games cause I get to be different people.
I love the Zelda games!! Twilight Princess was actually my first game and I just finished playing it a second time - this time to 100% completion with my boyfriend who hadn't played it before. Link to the Past is my favorite one though.
I love Kirbys Epic Yarn because it's so darn cute.
The Lego Star Wars games are fantastic. So is KOTOR (I've played the Xbox and PC versions and don't have a strong preference for which system).
Also the PC Harry Potter games. Especially the first three. I'm really good at them and have debug mode turned on for Sorcer's Stone and Chamber of Secrets so I know all the secrets.
I just beat Halo 1 and 2, which I really enjoyed as well.
I didn't start playing video games (aside from PC games) until a couple years ago but I have a ton of favorites now. :)
