What are your favorite video games and why?
Hello everybody!
My name is Andrew and I am a listener here on 7 Cups of Tea. I just found this forum section and thought it would be a great opportunity to start to get involved in conversation with other gamers.
So my question to you is: what are your favorite video games and why are they your favorite? They can be for any system, including the system in your response would be even more awesome! I personally game on my PS3 and my recently bought PS4.
Here is a list of some of the games I like to play:
Grand Theft Auto V - Though this game has violent aspects to it, I really love the online play. The constant competition is something that keeps me busy and the race for money and power keeps me intrigued. I really love the immense amount of customization and immersement that the game allows because I can truly enjoy role playing in that whole world. I recently started playing on PS4 which opened it up to so much more and I really do enjoy it.
Battlefield 3 - While this may be a bit outdated with the releases of Battlefield 4 and Battlefield 1, I still really love this game. I still play on the PS3 so the servers are not always full but the maps and the gameplay are really fun. I love the teamwork that is in Battlefield as a whole and the actual tactic used as opposed to the wild play of other games like Call of Duty.
Fallout 4 - I have not actually played this game a ton yet but I enjoy what I've done so far. I played a bit with a friend on his system and liked the gameplay so I bought it when I got my PS4. I tried it with some of the mods but I am going to stick to normal, vanilla gameplay for now to just see how the game goes.
Counter Strike: Global Offensive - I actually play this game on PC but I don't have a great one so I don't get to play often. I find the playerbase hilarious and I think it is just a fun fps game.
Little Big Planet 2- This is the final one on the list, I have this game for PS3 and I have to say, I really enjoy playing the custom maps people do. They tend to put a lot of work and humor into it which just makes it a fun game to play in my spare time.
I am excited to hear from you all about your favorites!

I'm a big fan of old-school emulators. In fact, in a window behind my browser is VisualBoyAdvance, a GBA emulator, running the original Breath of Fire (well, the original updated for Gameboy). Multiplayers are great (just waiting on Destiny 2) but the struggle of competition always seems to take away from the whole experience. There's something to be said for a classic RPG, like Final Fantasy or Legend of Zelda, where you're in total control. Another great thing about single player modes? No one can tell you cheat-codes aren't fair! When you're playing games that came out in the early 90s, who cares if you run a code that makes you rich or invincible? Games are meant to be fun!
My current favourite is Final Fantasy XIV! I'm online every day, the story is fantastic and there's a lot of action and amazing dungeons. The music is good, I find the community helpful and kind and there's a lot of fun extra things and side quests you can do! It's a great MMORPG and it's a lot of fun
You also of course have raiding and levelling as well!
Playerunknown's Battlegrounds (Pubg) because its better than H1Z1
@Power I'm obsessed with PUBG, and trying so hard for a solo win on the daily.
@Power
AGREED!!
Gosh, I never realized how big my list of favorite games was but I trimmed it down for y'all!! It turns out I'm a sucker for 'walking simulator' games with arching plots, I never get tired of them ...
The Beginner's Guide is my ULTIMATE favorite game of all time. I cannot explain how many times I've played it. The graphics are mediocre but I've never connected more with any character ever than in this game. *kisses fingers* it's a masterpiece
Animal Crossing NL is a fun game if you like to do things day by day. I've had it for four years, but I've been playing it on and off since them. You can make it last because there's always something new to do.
Fallout 4 had me for many, many months. I loved every minute of it even if I suck at fighting. I just got a good knife and I was set lol.
The Talos Principle is a great game for people who like puzzles and robots. You play as a puzzle robot and it has a big hidden plot you discover while finishing puzzles. I haven't finished it because its so difficult but I still adore it.
I feel like I'm forgetting some but these are my top faves!
san andreas
alice madness
metropolismania
mimecraft :3
sims 4
simple simple girl but i love those! :3
PS God of war! This game gives me Power 😂 like for real, whenever I'm done, I feel like I can do anything!
Fallout and Skyrim
Flat Out: Great game if you enjoy destroying cars. That's pretty much the main purpose and how you gain points, by destroying things. Real fun.
Need For Speed: I actually only have an older version, because my laptop can't handle most newer games and because I'm really picky. But it's my go-to game, and the one that always scared my mother for some reason. Also, the only game you'd better not upset me while I'm playing. Guaranteed, I won't be nice if you ruin my drifting haha
Settlers IV: Which I can't find anymore! I have to settle (no pun intended haha) with Settlers VI or even VII and I am not happy. Nothing beats the older version, am I right? Especially since both those versions make my laptop overheat in 2 minutes - I guess that's how a computer says "I'm trying to save you from spending hours playing and procrastinating studies"
The honorable mentions: The Sims 2, Bugatron, MicroMachines V4, Sonic DX, Sonic Heroes, pretty much anything Sonic. Oh and Window PinBall. The best game that ever came with Windows, and mainly good when internet goes down or you don't have any.

Currently:
The witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The story is very well written with a great main quest and really lovable characters.
Astroneer: Because I get to be an astronaut.
Banished: It's easy to play and fun and takes your mind off of things.
Has anyone played Senuas Sacrifice? It has easily become one of my favorites!
I also thoroughly enjoyed Nier: Automata and because of that played NieR too - both awesome games! I'm not the Triple A type of gamer, but there are a few that get me. Since I used to be a Harvest Moon girl, of course I always enjoy Stardew Valley.
Oh and last but not least Dragon Age is my most favorite gaming series no matter how much they spoiled different aspects in every game!
