Hello everybody!

My name is Andrew and I am a listener here on 7 Cups of Tea. I just found this forum section and thought it would be a great opportunity to start to get involved in conversation with other gamers.

So my question to you is: what are your favorite video games and why are they your favorite? They can be for any system, including the system in your response would be even more awesome! I personally game on my PS3 and my recently bought PS4.

Here is a list of some of the games I like to play:

Grand Theft Auto V - Though this game has violent aspects to it, I really love the online play. The constant competition is something that keeps me busy and the race for money and power keeps me intrigued. I really love the immense amount of customization and immersement that the game allows because I can truly enjoy role playing in that whole world. I recently started playing on PS4 which opened it up to so much more and I really do enjoy it.

Battlefield 3 - While this may be a bit outdated with the releases of Battlefield 4 and Battlefield 1, I still really love this game. I still play on the PS3 so the servers are not always full but the maps and the gameplay are really fun. I love the teamwork that is in Battlefield as a whole and the actual tactic used as opposed to the wild play of other games like Call of Duty.

Fallout 4 - I have not actually played this game a ton yet but I enjoy what I've done so far. I played a bit with a friend on his system and liked the gameplay so I bought it when I got my PS4. I tried it with some of the mods but I am going to stick to normal, vanilla gameplay for now to just see how the game goes.

Counter Strike: Global Offensive - I actually play this game on PC but I don't have a great one so I don't get to play often. I find the playerbase hilarious and I think it is just a fun fps game.

Little Big Planet 2- This is the final one on the list, I have this game for PS3 and I have to say, I really enjoy playing the custom maps people do. They tend to put a lot of work and humor into it which just makes it a fun game to play in my spare time.

I am excited to hear from you all about your favorites!

~ Andrew

Mass Effect Trilogy. I loved the way every decision you make has a consequence, either in the same game or the next one. I loved the complexity of the characters, the team feeling, and the way they make your ship, the Normandy, and its crew such an important part. Yes, you are on an epic save the universe quest, but you never lose track of those closest to you. I'll always have a soft spot for this series. The Crash Site Mission? The only quest I've ever played where "collect 20 or so items in this limited area" ever felt important . Collecting dogtags of fallen crew. I was NOT leaving until i had every last one. Anyway. I'm rambling..

Resident Evil is next on the list. Because nothing is more satisfying than shooting zombies :D

And the Witcher series. Because CD Projekt Red are amazing. Epic fantasy at its finest. Swords, crossbows, magic, and monsters set in what i believe to be the richest, most detailed world ever created. What more could you want?

Bioshock Infinite! heart the story is so awesome! Alternate universes, great plot twists, i really didn't see that end revelation commig. As the visuals... I think this game has one of the best concept arts, the locations are just beautiful, I think i has a mix of fanatsy with steampunk :)

My second favorite is the Dragon Age series. I've played the forst one so many time, I can't remember. I like RPGs and fantasy-medieval stuff so I couldn't help but love DA of course xD The second one wasn't as good as the first, in terms of story, but they nailed it with Inquisition combining the best of the first two games :)

At last, my third favorite is Dishonored. As soon as I finished it the first time, I immediately started playing a second time xD Again, awesome story and concept.

This is probably going to sound pretty strange, but I like the online Air Traffic Control stuff. Last year I got involved with an online community called VATSIM (Virtual Air Traffic SIMulation), which has been a lot of fun. The jist of it, people who fly their flight simulators, connect to the free network and can fly around with others doing the same thing. The ATC's do the same thing except with a radar scope view, and provide ATC for the pilots. It's quite a bit better than connecting to the multiplayer part the sim's come with because... Well you know how trolls are!

It's quite the mental workout and I really enjoy it, actually made me consider making a carrer switch!

Another game I used to play alot is Blackwake, not sure if anybody has heard of that one, naval combat with cannons and muskets, love it :).

Well, here are some of my favorites!

Mario & Luigi: Dream Team -
This game makes me feel really happy. It has a lot of moments where the Mario brothers work together and it shows how much they care about each other. Not to mention the official art for it is what inspired my art style and I also like the characters as well. So this one will always have a spot in my heart

Epic Mickey -
I absolutely adore the story, characters, and different routes of this game. While sure it has a darker tone, especially for a game that stars Mickey, I love how the game portrayed Oswald and heck I actually really love the dark tones of the game. Though there are three paths you can take, Paint, Thinner, and Neutral, I always go for the Paint path since you can help people and repair Wasteland!

TY the Tasmanian Tiger -
I feel like this one is mostly for nostalgia reasons. It was my first ever GameCube game and I've had my copy of it for over 10 years now. It's also the first game I ever got 100% on! I can still go back to it and enjoy it to this day. In a way, it's like a platformer collectathon.

Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse -
The story, the characters, and all the other things that happen in this game are really great. As of now, it's the most recent installment in Telltale's Sam & Max series of games, and I honestly think it's the best. All 5 episodes have a branching story with a lot of silly antics that take place. It starts out light hearted, but then takes a turn for the worst around the end of episode 2. This game was successful in making me cry as well.

Honorable Mentions -
Miitopia, Kirby: Planet Robobot, Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, Rayman Legends, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Super Mario Odyssey, Sonic & the Black Knight, Wii Fit U, etc.!

My favorite video game series has to be Silent Hill. I have played through almost all of them (barring the very first and the very last). I think the series does an amazing job with graphics, music, and story telling....all in ways I just feel like I don't see very often in other series. It isn't prone to the *Rinse and Repeat* for creating storylines and each video game lives on it's own, as a master tale of this foggy place. I do think I become disenchanted when the Shattered Memories came out, what with them taking away the ability to die, but by the ending my mind was utterly BLOWN by the reason. Then, by the scarily accurate psyche evaluation the game presentes to you -about yourself- based on how you played the game.

Other than that, I like so many other types of games, for example the Zelda series. I have played all but the Diminish Cap, and the breath of the wild (or whatever that new one is called). Most of them I have played a min of 3 times each!

I also gravitate towards MMORPGs, like WOW, LTOR, SWTOR, League of Legends, and many others. Though I am not a fan of the min/max system, I love the open world and being able to go where ever I feel like exploring, completing quests and just enjoying my time in game.

Finally, I thuroughly enjoy cell phone games, though not like most people think. I am a HUGE fan of Puzzles and Dragons (puzadora here in Japan!), as well as Homescapes (complete puzzles, earn stares, repair a house, lots of story telling in between), CatRoom (the must have for crazy cat ladies!), SumiSumi (for the cute, fluffy animal luvers), Duel Links (for those YuGiOh duelists who wanna du-du-du-du-duuuuel....for free), and PokemonGo (ok maybe that IS like everyone thinks).

If there are some people here who have kids, I wanted to ask, do you allow your children to play video games? And I am talking not about something like https://papasgames.io/papas-cupcakeria.html but about games that can be damaging to children's behavior.

@gibberishgiraffe77 I play a lot of violent games and mature rated ones but won't let them play it because I'm not their parent. Even though I'm suppose to be different because I'm the uncle I think like a parent in that regard.
