Daily reflection prompts!
Hello wonderful people and Happy New Year! I have an app called Calm that gives me daily reflection prompts and I would love to hear your stories and perspectives. I will be posting here every morning with the daily reflection prompt and my answer, and anyone is welcome to post their answer to the daily reflection prompt!
Today's reflection prompt is: What areas of your life can you approach with more openness this year?
My answer: My alters; listening to them and nurturing them. Paying attention to my needs and not overworking myself in school to avoid burnout. Forming healthy and secure attachments to friends. Spending lots of time on my hobbies and interests. Generally going with the flow more, not trying to resist so much. Spending time sitting with my feelings instead of immediately trying to push the unpleasant ones away.
I'm looking forward to hearing your answers!
Today’s reflection prompt: What are some qualities that are uniquely yours?
My answer: I’m very articulate and good at writing to express my experiences and emotions. I’m caring, compassionate, and kind. I’m smart and supportive. I’m passionate about my interests and hobbies.
Today’s reflection prompt: What physical activities bring you joy?
My answer: Running my dog through the dog obstacle course I’ve trained him in, hiking, going to water parks.
Yesterday’s reflection prompt: Where can you make space to pause today?
My answer: Pausing before reacting. Taking some deep breaths, grounding myself, really thinking before saying or doing anything right away.
Today’s reflection prompt: As an experiment, what might you try to do differently today?
My answer: Focusing on myself, not external things. Sitting with my feelings instead of trying to run away from them.
Today’s reflection prompt: What new chapters do you want to write into your life?
My answer: Top surgery, healing, working on my business, owning my favorite breeds of dog.

Healing, life beyond my family, and surgery (:

The answer would be everything if it were stated differently. As it currently is the answer is none.
Today’s reflection prompt: Who are you grateful for today? How can you express your thanks today?
My answer: I’m grateful for my alters and my friends and my support network (mental healthcare professionals who are there to help). I can make time for my alters to front and take care of themselves and I can remind my friends they are loved and I can thank the mental healthcare professionals in my life for the impact they are having on my healing journey.
Today’s reflection prompt: Who do you share your worries with? How does this create ease?
My answer: My therapist, my support network (mental healthcare professionals who are working with me), sometimes my mom (it depends).
Today’s reflection prompt: What is your favorite time of day to participate in self-care? Why?
My answer: Afternoons because that’s when I typically have time and I have more energy.
Today’s reflection prompt: How can you meet arguments with a steady and open heart?
My answer: Stay nonjudgemental, focus on finding solutions, and genuinely care about the other person’s perspective/feelings/needs.
