Thankyou for sharing the Swiss π§ model it is a great example and very relatable. Working with my psychologist over the last couple of years I have learned that as the seasons change so does your body. For example I usually go to bed early and get up early because I like to exercise. When it is daylight savings we have more sunlight in the evening so I have to go to bed later. I am listening to my body and trying not to beat myself up about it. I also track my exercise and food. Since September I have also been doing a 5 minute single object concentration and a 10 minute deep breathing guided meditation. Thats it for me for 2024 at this stage just to practice until these become my go to new habits.

What needs some work in 2024 for you?? my daily schedule to be fair, as i have a lot of stress that i need to deal with.

@SunShineAlwaysGrateful Yes, definitely! Self-care strategies definitely, definitely include this swiss cheese model

It's interesting, I've never actually seen this model, but I am glad that you shared it!Β
I've always conceptualized self care as armor that can help you cope with and process the emotional challenges that come with micro and macro stressors. And, in that process, you have different self-care activities that accomplish different things, which all add up to a major, functioning, self care unit that allows you to handle each and every day with enthusiasm and excitement!Β

So, for example, I do a daily yoga practice, breathing practice, meditation practice, journaling practice, exercise, and reflective practices during the day. I make sure that my work is fulfilling (which honestly took awhile to get there due to just how life is) and that I am spending ample time in healthly social interactions, exploring new interests and material, going on walks, and other reflective and explorative practices that allow myself to feel free and relaxed in my own body.
