Planet Fitness Plans
Hi everyone! I’m looking to get a membership with Planet Fitness and I can’t seem to choose between the classic and Black card plan. The Black card plan in my local PF doesn’t have that many amenities. For those of you who have joined planet fitness, which plan do you think would be better?

Hi there~
I have a family member who has a membership to PF, And would go several times a week… Although the membership was gotten well before the pandemic started… and now they also have a different job. So they no longer go, but are still paying for the membership. We have two PF facilities in our area on opposite ends of town from each other. And they honestly have no time for either one with their work schedule & personal life…
So I think in the end when making your choice you have to list out all of your “own” pros & cons of what it is that you are wanting & looking for in your Gym experience “overall”... And then decide if whatever plan you choose to go with is going to be worth the cost to pay for & keep.
I feel that it’s a personal choice based on your personal needs and financial circumstances. And your overall motivation to continue to keep going!
So Good luck & best wishes on your decision & gym journey! And please keep us posted on how things go.
I have been on and off between PF and the YMCA for all my life until the pandemic.... When everything closed, I cancelled all my gym memberships at the time, ordered a cable machine and turned my garage into a home gym.... All the money I spent in memberships is now invested in my garage.....I have 2 different cable machines, a spin bike, an elliptical, a row machine my girlfriend son contributed and I just ordered a walking pad yesterday......I do not miss the people or atmosphere of the gym at all....of course I wasn't looking for the social aspect or any frills....I understand that not everyone has the finances or space to do what I did...you need to figure out and decide what your motivation will be to work out..what is most important to you... If it's the social and companionship aspect the basic membership should do.....if you want all the bells and whistles go for it....if you don't care about any of that and just want to workout, the are plenty of home options that don't cost a thing.....YouTube has plenty of equipment free videos to get you started..... Running or walking outside is free....Do your due diligence in trying to figure your reasons for wanting to work out and research what is available.....I'm a firm believer that fitness clubs, while some can be a great resource depending on your motivation and plan, make a ton of money on inactive memberships.....
