⭐ This past week went by like a whirlwind it seemed~ ... I love the Holidays, but its always such a feeling of let-down for me personally as it all comes to an end~ And as everything goes back to it's usual~... Last weekend was spent at home just relaxing due to the uncooperative weather... And just spent reeling from the Christmas holiday (While also anticipating the New Year ahead)... New Years Eve was well & spent at home with all our usual Traditions as we rang in the New Year... So I was simply focused on enjoying that... And While I got in & met all my Fitness & activity goals for the week, I again took some time off of tracking/meal-planning. And just went with the flow of things....(While also taking care of myself with a quick appointment & a new prescription for my Allergy issue) before the New Year started off.
🎈 The past week again held limited Group fitness classes, so I made-do where I could, & got in the rest at home... New years Eve whether actually cooperated, so I managed to be able to get outdoors with the Furbaby for one last walk of 2024.... I also managed to try to tackle a tricky & challenging situation (& upsetting situation) at one of my gyms this week with another member.... Needless to say it was kind of an emotional upset as that's supposed to be a place of positivity, support & "me" time... The incident did challenge my mental wellness for a bit afterwards, as I definitely did not want to start off the New Years that way on the first day back to class!... So I'm working on trying to push past it and praying for a better class next time once I return back to that particular facility. So I took steps/measures that hopefully dealt with it going forwards.
💪 This weekend ahead, I'm looking forwards to just completely getting back on track with things & my January goals. And hopefully back to a Saturday morning Zumba class now that the Holidays are over. There will also be another brand New Class starting this weekend on Sunday afternoons at my regular full-time facility... I'm totally looking forwards to that so that I don't have to try to motivate myself anymore on that day... And it would be a great start to the week itself... The weather will again be back to being uncooperative & turning much colder again & throughout the following week ahead…. So it will be an errand-kind of weekend, & then to finish taking down all of the Christmas decorations afterwards (although I got a few things down already)... It seems like I just put it all up?!... I will miss the soft evening glow of the lights & the tree, but also looking forwards to cleaning-up and having a more organized home again. Which puts me in better focus mentally.~

@PoliteOcean This past week I went to the library 3 times and went for a walk 3 times. Tuesday night Leslie came back from New Zealand. Her 4 granddaughters were here for 3 1/2 hours before the noise went away. If I wanted to be around child noises I'd be a nursery school teacher. It was very stressful. I've completed watching documentaries on every British monarch since William the Conqueror in 1066. It took about 3 months. There were only 41 monarchs. I thought it was a lot more like 100 or 120. Friday morning I completed my intake for therapy. All that information is already in my medical record. My therapist said the insurance rules require he get it from me verbally. My PTSD poetry book arrived. I don't have time to get into it. I started my next book "Jude the Obscure" by Thomas Hardy. I've been wanting to read it for many years. I worked on my quotation journal some also. Friday night Leslie was talking on the phone with her mouth full. That is so rude. Ugh. Saturday Tunde cancelled because he wasn't feeling well. At least I didn't have anything important to do. My girlfriend Sandra turned out to be a scammer. Oh well whatever. Time to move on to the next one. I have a blood test on Jan 15th and another therapy appointment on Jan 17th.
@Regmo
Hey There Regmo~ That’s awesome for you that you were able to both get out to the library but also get your walks in 3 times this week! Yay for you on knocking out that activity in the first week of the New Year. 💪🏼…. Oh I can totally understand the noise when children are involved (especially if they aren’t being supervised very well).. some of us can also definitely be more sensitive to that. And it can become very intolerable. And I agree it can be stressful..Sorry you had to deal with that in your own home... But Wow.. that’s a lot of documentaries in a short time. Good for you!… As far as the intake, yeah any time there’s a new appt, new provider, or insurance etc..etc.. they will always want you to give “repeat” information. It can be a nuisance sadly…. I do love the idea of a PTSD poetry book! I’ve never seen one of those.. I used to write poetry (what seems like eons ago)!.. But that seems like it would be very helpful and beneficial... Great job to you on getting started on your new book as well as working on your journal... As far as Tunde, hopefully he feels better soon! Sounds like you have a busy month ahead with your appts. Keep us updated on how those work out for you, and continue to let us know how things are going for you. Thanks for checking in this week to share with us. And keep up all the great work you’re doing. 👏🏼
@PoliteOcean
Losing some weight is one of my goals for this month.
Active listening
@PoliteOcean
The struggles and challenges I faced this week is the inability to manage my time with personal and professional life. I was also stressed and didn't give myself the enough physical activity I needed. I am looking forward to working on them.
Hey Everyone~ Welcome to the weekend~ (And to the New Year)!.. How are you doing today?~ I'm doing well today. I Have a whole laundry list of things I want to try to get done on my two days off, but lets be honest, I'll probably procrastinate and put off......How did you Ring in your New Years?...I was in bed by 8:30pm NYE and worked 4:30am to 8:30pm on New Years Day....One positive that came out of the day, I tracked 20,659 steps and 7.9 miles from my Garmin watch while at work...... And how are you feeling about 2025 so far?! I haven't really formed an opinion on 2025 yet....Friday and Saturday were tough days for me at work....if anything, the tough days have pushed me harder to come up with solutions for change in 2025.....
🎈This is our very "First" Check-in for the Month of "JANUARY & 2025"! .... A brand New Month, New year, & Fresh New Start~... WHAT is something "Fresh & New" that you'd like to start working on for yourself "First" in this month ahead?....Fresh and new.....food....more fresh foods, new, better for me foods......its not a new goal but one that I really need to buckle down on and get a meal plan in place....My girlfriend is on board with this and we both decided to get this off the ground and stop just "researching and talking" about it.....My girlfriend has her annual physical this month and we have decided that she is going to see if her Dr. can refer her to a dietician to help get us on the right path rather than relying on what we find for our own research on the internet....
💪As
We have entered another New Year, and look forwards ahead, What will be
your Motivators this year to help keep you "moving forwards" in &
keeping up with your intentions, goals, or resolutions that you have for
yourself (Mentally, Physically, Emotionally) or otherwise?! My main goal for a long time has been to have a retirement plan and possibly put myself in a position to retire early....money is the motivator in why I haven't done this yet...the money I will be losing retiring early......This is going to sound crazy, and as much I hate the bad days at work, it's those days, the days that are bad for my mental and emotional well being, that are going to motivate me to keep pushing toward my goal of finding a way of making this work...whether that way be financial so I can retire early, or mental and emotional ways to help me through the hard times so I can stick it out.......but its a cycle....I have a week that is terrible and decide its not worth staying (I'd lose about 7K a year in my retirement by leaving this year vs staying until March of 2027)....then things start the upswing and I have a week or 10 days of "not so bad" and my mind tells me I can hang on....what I think I need to do is just make a decision and a plan for one way or the other, and commit to it....but I keep playing the "what if" in my head which make me so indecisive......
⭐JUST FOR FUN:.. Leave
One "Positive Or Healthy" Word for others here to help start off the
New Year, using the 'FIRST LETTER' of your "7cups" Name! (....I'll start.. Mine is "Positivity")~ Positive or healthy word with the letter "C"......commit....commit to your plan....something I am not doing lol(read above) but will definitely work on...
@CyclingThroughLife
Hey there Cycling~
Thats good for you that you are “doing good” (despite the chores & possible procrastination)… but thats the lovely thing about weekends (is that we can go either way)?!! 👍🏼😊
Wow, that surely sounds like a long day to work?! But amazing job to you on “tracking” your time there since you did in fact have to be there. Sounds like you definitely logged in a bunch of amazing steps for yourself there! 👍🏼💪🏼👟…(hopefully you give your feet a good self care day after that one)! Lol 😉
As far as an opinion for your 2025, (rather lack there of), it’s great that so far the more challenging days are perhaps giving you the motivation & guidance that you need to push you in the direction of solutions & changes for yourself this year ahead… Definitely keep us apprised on how that is working out for you.
Sounds like you are off to a great start in working toward “Fresh & New” changes & goals for yourself?!... Working on your dietary needs is surely an important one for overall health & wellness!... How we nourish ourselves on the inside is how we end up feeling & functioning overall. So Kuddos to you both on wanting to take charge there with that, & being productive with a way to go about it all… perhaps once you are done with this current course you are completing, you might even consider “Nutrition Coaching” afterwards?! It would be a great compliment to what you’re working towards presently?! And it can also help to continue to keep you on your own personal track as well with your food & dietary planning ....(And if you ever wanted to in the long run, you could help “coach” others with the knowledge)… again an added complimentary component to what you are working on now should you decide to train others.. But Just a thought?! 😃
It definitely sounds like you have been plagued & challenged for a while by your thoughts of the pros & cons of your retirement plan… I can understand that for many it’s definitely not a decision to make lightly when bills need paid, things need taken care of, or you simply want to be comfortable & not just feel like you’re getting by… So yes much thought should be put into all that for your future self. (..but, I must add this one tidbit, .. I’ve seen others question themselves on whether to take it earlier or not, and how things could play out, etc… and then something happens and they literally didn’t even have a chance to enjoy any of it?!)… Again definitely not something to decide on lightly, but I think for me personally I would want more “time” in the end to enjoy it even if I weren’t getting the full amount).. I have actually mulled that over in my head for quite some time lol… It seems like those I know around me, are starting to feel the same. But Continued Best wishes to you on doing what’s best for “you”! Because in the end that’s what matters.
I absolutely love your “Positive word” choice! “Commit” is an absolute amazing word when it comes to succeeding in whatever it is that we set out to do! No matter how long it takes, or how big or small! Continuing to commit will get you to where you want to be, or trying to go! Again, Great choice!
Thank you for checking in to share your week with us, & letting us know how you’re doing, feeling, & how things are continuing to go for you. As always please continue to keep us updated on things.
