🌞 The past week was well.... I started off the week on Sunday morning leaving to go on my last Summer getaway for the week. It was nice to get away & break up the day to day monotony of things. And was both enjoyable & relaxing... No matter what else I do during a getaway, the best part is always being at the Ocean. The one place that allows me to feel completely centered. I got home Friday, and now its back to the real world.~

🌴 I didn't completely stay on track with meals during the course of the week. And allowed myself to just "enjoy", (while also being "mindful").... However, I did my best to get in some form of Workout & Activity. Between walking around and being in the water, it allowed me to meet the activity goals that I set for myself each day. And that was enough.... Its nice to get away, and its just as nice to return back to the comforts of home, as well see my Furbaby, & get back to my routines again as we get ready to head into a new month~.... Again I never look completely forwards to summer ending, but I am motivated to continue on with, as well as meet, my personal goals this year.

🌊 This weekend ahead is a long holiday weekend here.... Saturday intentions are to get back to my regular Saturday morning Zumba class. And then see where the day takes us from there. I'm still getting back into the groove of things since being back home., and also still need to un-pack "everything but the kitchen sink"!... But there will probably be some holiday festivals in the different areas nearby... Sunday will include some shopping & prepping to have a "small" BBQ for the Labor Day holiday on Monday.... And hopefully squeeze in what might probably be the last of "Pool-time" since the weather will already start turning slightly cooler next week.....But I'm really just gonna focus on the long weekend ahead and intend to relax & enjoy it as much as I can....  As Next week will be a busy one with various appointments that I will inevitably be glad to get done & over with~

Mmmm… Tomatoes 🍅 Peaches 🍑 & Strawberries 🍓, I love all those things!

Hey All~ Welcome to the weekend~ What are your plans for this last day of the Month?..

I worked today....tonight my girlfriend and I are going bowling with my son and his girlfriend....competition will commence......then a meal at the pub next to the bowling alley.....

How many of you will celebrate the long Labor Day Holiday weekend ahead in some way, & what will you do?

We don't really celebrate Labor Day so to speak....just another day off of work.....we will be going to a county fair on Monday for the rodeo....

🌴 This is our "Last" Check-in for AUGUST~... How do you feel that the month of August treated you?...August has been busy because of things that happened at work and in life that were out of the ordinary..... If you can, describe the past Month for yourself in ONE Word.  Weird

🏖️ JUST FOR FUN:... Its a holiday weekend & we're having a picnic!.... You're invited to bring THREE Healthy Foods.... WHAT are you bringing?!

Everyone's definition of healthy food is different, as well as everyone's definition of "picnic".....when I hear picnic, I'm thinking more like a bbq style picnic.... burgers, dogs, sausages, hot as well as cold foods, casserole, etc....If I was to bring healthy food to a picnic, it would be some sort of fruit or veggie salad.....in real life, If I was going to bring three foods to a picnic it would home made baked beans, home made mac n cheese, and my moms oreo desert recipe.....

Hey There Cycling 🚴 👋🏼

Great to see you this week! I love bowling! Haven’t done that in ages! Sounds like a great time & outing with loved ones. So who won?! lol

The county fair sounds like a great plan to me…. Another thing I haven’t been to in a very long time. We used to go and enjoy things like that (bowling, fairs), when our boys were young & still at home. The older I’ve gotten, my tastes for outings has changed some... (But a good candy apple or funnel cake & a rodeo are always enjoyable)!… Hope you have a great time!

Sorry to hear that August was an out of the ordinary & strange month for you… Hopefully you find that September turns out to be the opposite~… By the way, How has your work situation been going for you lately?

Yes, I was talking about a BBQ type picnic. And should’ve just said BBQ which would’ve been more in tune for Labor Day since that’s what a majority of the ppl I know do…. But the Fruit salad sounds amazing!

But…. PS…. I’m with you on the burgers, hotdogs, baked beans & Mac n Cheese! (However, those too can be made in healthier ways & versions)! 😉

Thanks for checking in to share with us this week. It’s good to see you around. Please continue to keep us updated on how things are going for you.

@PoliteOcean

The bowling was fun....I won two games and my son one....we are not very good bowlers and do it more for fun....my best score was 124 so that can tell you how good we all are lol.....

Work is ok.....its about the same...I got an actual number from the retirement board a few months back of what I'd bring home if I retired this year.....the number is do-able, it would pay my mortgage and car payment only as far as my current bills are concerned, but sticking it out until I'm 55 in March of 2027 would up my percentage significantly.....like 7K a year significantly, at what I'm making now....we are expected to get another 11 percent raise in the next contract negotiation so that would be better for me if I stuck it out, if I can.....every day I go in saying to myself todays the day I pull my retirement papers then by the end of the day, I tell myself It was tolerable so I'll continue on....with all that said, knowing I can leave if I need to and have my two big living expenses covered helps.....

I'll try not to be a stranger in here....It is hard for me to actually find time sit down in front of the laptop....using 7 cups on my phone and typing on my phone is almost impossible for me....Have a wonderful week

Regmo August 31st

@PoliteOcean My stress level has gone down this past week. James had 5 medical appointments at the house this week and no personal visits. The people in his circle just fawn all over him and I don't know why. I'm a lot cuter than he is. Wednesday was Leslie's birthday and she turned 52. James has a very irregular sleeping and eating schedule. It's bad for healthy people but especially for sick people. Our bodies like to have consistency. Sifa was 45 minutes late with serving me dinner on Friday night. It causes me emotional distress. I spoke with Tunde on the phone on Thursday and he's ready to start working on Tuesday again. I need a haircut really badly. This past week I spoke with my insurance company on the phone for an hour and I really think they'll be able to do something to help me. I'm very happy and excited about it. Hopefully it won't be another disappointment.

@Regmo

Hey there Regmo~ That’s good for you that your levels of stress have been lower the past week. It’s not good to have continued ongoing stress. Hmmm… I didn’t realize Leslie was that young, I pictured a slightly older version when you talk about her. That sounds like some great & positive news regarding Tunde & his return. And hopefully with his return you can get your needed haircut. Thats also good for you that you are feeling positive about your talk with the insurance company. What is your desired outcome with that? Thanks for sharing your week with us & continue to keep us updated on things.

Hi, Ocean!

I'm glad you had a good trip to the ocean.  You deserve it.

What are your plans for this last day of the Month?.. How many of you will celebrate the long Labor Day Holiday weekend ahead in some way& what will you do?  I'm doing a bit of this and that.  I unpacked a little.  I slept in a little.  I am going to study a little.  I really needed a break.  I just plan to study on the holiday.

🌴 This is our "Last" Check-in for AUGUST~... How do you feel that the month of August treated you?... If you can, describe the past Month for yourself in ONE Word.  It treated me ok, considering I moved, started a new job and started my second hear of grad school.  In one word, I would say, exhausting.

🌊  What is something that you've learned or adopted for yourself this past month that you hope or would like to take into the new month ahead?  Just keep trying to take care of myself by getting lots of sleep and eating well.

🏖️ JUST FOR FUN:... Its a holiday weekend & we're having a picnic!.... You're invited to bring THREE Healthy Foods.... WHAT are you bringing?!  roasted veggies, pickles, and turkey burgers

🌞 What were your "Highlights Or Struggles" of the week?.... How were you able to work through your challenges?!  We really get a lot of trouble people at the library where I work.  I've been told to call one of my superiors when something happens, so I am not in the way of danger or perversions.

"We really get a lot of trouble people at the library where I work.  I've been told to call one of my superiors when something happens, so I am not in the way of danger or perversions."

This is interesting to me....I would have never thought that libraries would attract trouble people.....

@purpleTree4652

Hey there Tree! Thank you for the kind words 🙂

It definitely sounds like you are doing a varied array of things this weekend! But more importantly it’s great that you are taking your time to not only divide things up, but also create balance in the things you want to get done as well as making time for rest when you need it. Good job and keep up the great work. And Good luck with your studying!

Lol… Yes, I would have to agree that your “August” sounds exhausting. But you did it Tree! And you continue to keep going!

Taking care of yourself & eating well are two amazing and very important staples to continue forwards with... When you are doing those things and feeling good physically, all the other things will continue to come into alignment as well mentally & emotionally… along with all the other things that you are trying to accomplish! Great job 👏🏼 ~

And Great choices for the picnic! I like Turkey burgers too! 😉

Oh my goodness! (I think I have to agree with Cycling), that you wouldn’t think you’d have so much trouble like that in a place like the library?! That’s definitely not something you should have to deal with! But it’s awesome that you have the support & back-up that you need should something else happen! Hopefully it won’t!

But thank you for sharing with us this week. And please continue to keep us updated on everything and how you are doing.
