"I love you" but let's try something different ❤

Sunisshiningandsoareyou October 17th, 2022

❤ People speak from their heart more often than we'd realise, listen closely; As they do things out of their heart more often we witness, observe deeply: You *are* loved. ❤

_1666122511.image.png

Hey hey lovelies, I hope y'all are doing well, and staying safe. ❤

I like when someone shows their surprise with a "you remember?" Or "you noticed?!" Or "This was ages ago, I don't remember telling you even but you do lol?" Or "how did you know?" And counting hehe.

I get the surprise element here, it's valid to feel a tad bit shocked when someone remembers a detail you shared with them or similar.

I, however, see it as a love language for me.

Yes it is, to remember and make someone feel remembered. To notice and to make someone be aware they are noticed. To see someone, and remind them how *seen* they are. To appreciate someone, and to encourage them to feel appreciated. To love someone and make them feel loved, in whatever little ways possible.

Little becomes A Lot,

with genuine intent and thought.

So many times we may not be able to say those three, as they say *magic* words lol, nope, not "Want some pizza?" (These are magic words for me though, no cap😛), but yes, now is the right guess, "I love you", is what I'm referring to.

There's different reasons we don't say it as often as we would like to or want to (in any kind of relationships, and with anyone at all), and all super valid, but I feel, many of us convey our love to them in different ways, using different words, and various gestures and that surely makes a difference too.

It is again the thought, and the little things that warm one's heart.

Some examples of letting people know we love them, care for them, value them, appreciate them and that in *our* world, they do make a big difference. ❤

♡ Someone asking us to text them back when we reach home

♡ Reminding to sleep on time

♡ "Did you eat something?" Texts

♡ "I miss you" texts

♡ Someone remembering something we told them

♡ Random 3 PM "how are you doing?" texts

Someone being patient with us

♡ "How was your day?" And being genuinely curious to know

♡ Having a starry view outside and someone yet choosing to capture us

♡ "I am here for you" and really meaning it

♡ Handmade cards/gifts

♡ "Sorry I acted the way I did, let's talk when you're available?" ~ Owning and being accountable

♡ Offering help with stuff

♡ "I'm so proud of you" texts

♡ Being there and embracing the silence

♡ Listening to them

♡ (Not so) Random acts of kindness

♡ Ordering their favorite food

♡ Suggesting music/ curating a playlist

♡ Thoughtful gifts

♡ Watching their favorite movie

♡ Giving them hugs/ being affectionate as per their comfort zone

♡ Complimentssss

♡ Praying and wishing for their wellbeing/ Keeping them in thoughts

Ooof I can honestly go on about more ways to express our love and care, on a regular basis, without even explicitly saying it out loud.

But ofcourse would like to hear from everyone now. ❤

🌻Expression Time🌻

☆ What are your thoughts about the same?

☆ How do you like to express your love and care to a loved one? [Family, Friend, Partner, Potential Partner lol, 7 cups peers, Yourself, anyone at all you love and care for]

☆ Feel free to share your favorite ways that make *you* feel loved and cared for.

❤ Anddddd while we discussing different ways of expression, if you *are* someone who tells their loved ones how loved they are on a regular basis, how very amazing are you. While the acts of kindness and selflessness matter, it is nice to hear the actual words too sometimes hehe, does give that sweet, warm, loving feeling, one that everyone deserves. ❤

@Sunisshiningandsoareyou

First off, I wanted to start with how lovely this post is, Sunny. 🥰♥️☀️ It’s so important to be loved and to know how to love! Having this information here is not only uplifting, but informative as well. Thank you for creating this thread. Also, I absolutely adore the Tubby Nugget comics; truly adorable and heart-touching 🥲💖 The sugar cookies add to the sweetness of this thread!

❣️ What are your thoughts about the same?

I 100% agree with everything said here; I know the five love languages are Physical Touch, Gifts, Acts of Service, Quality Time and Words of Affirmation, but I do think that Remembering Little Details should be listed as a sixth. It’s amazing how something seemingly so trivial to one person can turn out to be so significant to the other. I try to write down things my loved ones have said to me that impacted me as soon as possible, so that way I have a physical record of the fleeting words that touched my heart. Because of this, whenever I happen across the record of kindnesses they said, it refreshes the feelings of warmth, happiness, love and just really being heard. ❤️‍🔥

❣️ How do you like to express your love and care to a loved one?

It depends on the loved one in question when it comes to more specific, one-on-one care. For example, my best friend isn’t that much of a cuddle bug, whereas my boyfriend is (even before we got together). So something like a hug would be more effective and preferable for my boyfriend than my best friend. I do have some pretty one-size-fits-all solutions to cover more than one person at a time, though. Both my best friend and boyfriend could have had a long day at work. They’re staggering in through the front door, exhausted and just wanting to flop down on the couch and play video games until bedtime. And I tell them those three magical words… “I made food.”

A titch different from your phrase of “Want some pizza?” , but I’m confident you know the effectiveness of this alternate sentence, Sunny. 🤣 Because who wouldn’t love to come home from an exhausting day at work to be greeted with the sights and smells of lemon garlic sautéed broccoli, honey garlic soy sauce tofu, freshly-baked bread and homemade Nutella cookies? 😋 I may not know how to handle every problem, but I can at least provide nourishment.

❣️ Feel free to share your favorite ways that make *you* feel loved and cared for.

Sooo mine also depends on the person in question I’m receiving the love gestures from. Generally speaking, Acts of Service mean a lot to me. Finding out my boyfriend is coming home with the groceries or that my best friend did the dishes takes a weight off my chest, for example. Or little things, whether it’s from a loved one or a stranger, can impact my day. Being asked “How are you doing?” with genuine interest or being told “I saw this cute sweater that I think you might like” makes me realize that aww, someone’s looking out for me! ☺️ Then there are more specific things from specific people. My boyfriend and my best friend both know that I am a hopeless bookworm. So whenever we’re out and about, if we have the time to, or if we’re nearby, they always ask me if I wanna stop by the bookstore. I have to be really sick if I’m not saying “YES.” 💖📚💖 Or, if I’m narrowing the examples down to them individually, my boyfriend knows that applying cuddles to any mental/emotional wounds I am suffering from almost always works. And while my bestie again isn’t a cuddle bug, he is willing to pat my head and stroke my hair to soothe me, and a little of that goes a long way.

Anywayssss, this is a really long response, so I’ll wrap it up here! Thanks again for this thought-provoking, heart-touching thread, Sunny! 🥰 Sending endless love like the scattering of autumn leaves~ ♥️🍂🍁 and tagging my friend @purpleTree4652 to join in on soaking up the good vibes!

@Sunisshiningandsoareyou,

Thank you Sun for inviting me here.

Anyways...I want to share my perception of this and your post.

You are very right Sun. Its a sign of love. Love is a language that can never be destroyed or forgotten. And even when love isn't used, hate cannot beat love. Therefore, love and kindness is one of the biggest powers (in my opinion). Hate has not solved a single problem. (sorry for going off-topic. )

Anyways. to remember someone. to notice someone. Even saying "are you okay?" is an example of noticing someone. Many people these days feel forgotten... lost.... Feel like no one. These feelings of emptiness are so hard. so tough. But just to notice someone. To remember someone. Makes someone feel a whole lot more loved. A whole lot more happiness in our hearts.

Humanity is constantly changing. The love. The laughter. The beauty. When someone passes away.. We often use the phase of "remembering" someone. Remembering them for everything they did (especially loved ones!). Remembering someone puts peace in our hearts. Remembering someone can make us feel like someone is there for us. When someone passes away... and we remember them we feel more close (it can be the same for any example)

Words can make a huge difference to someone's life. Positive or negative. Words hurt. Words heal. Words are beautiful things. And yes, we can use the language of love in so many possible ways my friend. Thank you for the examples.

__________

Expression Time:

How do you like to express your love and care to a loved one? [Family, Friend, Partner, Potential Partner lol, 7 cups peers, Yourself, anyone at all you love and care for]

I like to express love and care with words. I use my words to express love and care. From time to time I use hugs and actions. But small words like "you are worth it" or "your amazing" or just saying "thank you" can put a smile on someone's face. We, humans, are often ungrateful. But even using words can make someone feel better. That's my way.

Feel free to share your favorite ways that make *you* feel loved and cared for.

Hugs and cookies and kiwis

Beautiful words.

Holding the door for someone.

Saying thank you.

Reminding someone that they are amazing. (like the PAT team do!)

Asking someone "are you okay?"

Holding someone's hand.

Also, my last message is:

You all are loved, beautiful, amazing, caring, human beings. You deserve love. You deserve all the happiness and joy in the world. You can do this. And I love you and I believe in you. And even if its hard and its tough, i know your tough. I know your you . Thats what makes you more beautiful.

Your kindness is your strength.

Your tears is the sign your fighting and your getting through this.

Your you. I love. youfor it.

Bunny

@Sunisshiningandsoareyou

Awh what a lovely post. So true, there are so many ways to express love to others!

Something I discovered about myself recently is that I am a gift giver. It makes me feel less awkward than outright saying affectionate words to others lol. So, I like noticing what my loved ones are into and giving them little gifts that I think they would like.

As for me, my love language is words of affirmation. So, it’s always nice to receive those. My long-distant best friend will send me songs randomly with a message saying, “this made me think of you.” Which always warms my heart as well<3

Also, I love alllll the examples you provided!! I’m noting so many down. Thanks for this post, Sun. You’re too lovely. 💜

@innateJoy9602

Aww this made me so smiley hehe! *you* are too lovely and uber awesome always, Joy.

Hahaha that made me laugh, because same 🤝 especially in-person lol, it's harder to verbally tell someone you love them. :') (I'm sooo much more expressive, comparatively, in text and well, cups, in particular lol) It's lovely that you notice what could help someone or brighten someone's day and gift them that, gifts are also such a reminder "ooh Xyz person gave me this". 🥰

I like the "this made me think of you" messages also, they are so special, specially coming from someone who's away. (I strongly believe that long distance friendships are extra special because of these "thinking of you" reminders even if there's lack of regular communication due to xyz reasons) Words of affirmation is what I get a higher score on also, when I take these tests on "what's your love language" Haha, I score higher on "Acts of Service" and I definitely relate! 💜

Agree, this is something I do or try to do, I really try to remember everything people say and do, I think what u do matters a lot and to show people u notice them as u say is real important, I guess it has a lot to do with the fact that's not something I have, people have never noticed stuff about me, or cared, so I always try to remember everything and I guess it was just the way I've always been, I've had to take care of people my whole life, and mostly people who struggled a lot with addictions and mental illnesses, I don't really say I love u or stuff I do try to do that more now but it can be hard and the way I know to show it is by remembering stuff and listening and checking on them and just keeping company I guess a lot of people just need to not be alone and have someone there when they are struggling. But yea this post makes a lot of sense, actions speak louder than words.

Depending on the person, I love hugs. I also really aprecciate when they invite me to do stuff, I feel like it's more one-sided when I always do the inviting. Handmade gifts, love to give and get them, but when I do they're always late because I have to take a minute to make em. And when someone sees me as their "safe zone" person. I really like that even with friends and it makes me sad when they shift that to someone else, but I understand and respect that, and will be there if they want to come back. Also, in public areas I really like to have someone to follow around and basically be my emotional support human, mostly at parties. It's also good to have that but mutually.

Sunisshiningandsoareyou OP January 15th, 2023

Hello @LonleyCheese, thanks for replying!

Hugs are awesome for real hehe, I get the "depending on the person" part here. It does always feel nicer when the friendship and appreciation for one's company and well, themself is mutual and everyone involved takes equal effort and care in making another feel as loved and special. I believe hand-made anything deserves all the applause and the time needed, they have quite the charm. Emotional support person has an adorable ring to it, some people really do make us feel so safe and comfy.

I relate with you about feeling sad when someone shifts to another for support, I guess that's a form of care and commitment also, if we wouldn't care enough, it won't make us feel sad. It's great to respect boundaries and decisions someone makes for them, then again, it's okay to feel sad also, that just shows the care was so genuine, and that we really want to support our friends in any way possible. We can always gentle assure them that we are here for them, whether be in silence or from afar also ~ the thought that counts here!❤
