ASilentObserver June 2nd, 2021

Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing well. I am grateful to you for your compassionate support, love, and careful contributions in May to make an impact in everyone's lives. Thank you for being an Awesome Community Leader and part of the Community Leadership Team!

Here are a couple of highlights I like to share!

  • 312 community leaders went the extra mile to support the community in their roles. Also, the team grew up and joined 300+ Clubs!
  • 224 Hosts hosted 2677 sessions during the month of May. These sessions varied ranging from Check-ins, Sharing circles, Support Sessions, to Guided Discussions, Fun Hours, and Meetings.

A huge shout out to 312 community leaders + 224 hosts for their incredible work and leadership. High five!!

And, Question time! I have a question for you. Please do share your thoughts with the community!

If you could teach us one skill that you learned recently, what will it be? Why?

How to take notes so that you make sure that your projects are on track

@ASilentObserver

Not sure if I learned recently, but being open, you may not agree with someone, but this is their truth and their experience and that is okay.

@ASilentObserver

I have observed in sharing circle with saying thank you for sharing and moving on to the next sharer, seems to be less validating and insincere that they were heard. As a host, to acknowledge what was said or at least recognize one thing that was said so the sharer feels validated and heard. When we say the same thing over and over, "Thank you for your share." seems robotic and less genuine. Practice active listening and reflection is very important in sharing circle. We want people to be genuinely heard.

Thanks for the tag.

I would say to have to skill of empathy is very important. It will help someone when we stand in their shoes to think about the situation. Try to feel what they are feeling, and picture how we should act if we were in their position~

Thank you all for giving your time and talents to support others! You are appreciated!

What skill have I learned recently? The art of juggling.

Why would I like to share this? Because moving through life, minute to minute, day to day, year to year and so on: We come into contact with something or someone and then it / they passes onward (away from us). We can lengthen the duration of contact (make it last longer) by slowing down, or hasten the duration (get it over with) by speeding up. Each one of us is the juggler, who has control.

Is something good happening in my life? Then I can slow the pace and savor it while it lasts. Is something not so good happening in my life? Then I know that it too will pass and I have control over how quickly I send it away.

If you could teach us one skill that you learned recently, what will it be? Why?

That each one of us comprehends differently and that we as individuals have the ultimate power, in our hands...to do whatever we can/want/wish to. And at the end of the day, it is always up to the individual to decide which steps they would undertake/What they want to believe in.

@ASilentObserver I am humbled and honored to be answering, this question.

One thing is team work.

Working with a team makes be a leader, more enjoyable.

Having a team that supports you, is really nice.

It is ok to ask questions.

It is also ok, to not have all the answers.

People in general think, people in leadership, should know everything all the time, and that way of thinking is harmful.

It puts to much added pressure on the person in leadership.

No one person can know everything all the time, it is humanly impossible.

To my fellow leaders, please do not think you have to know everything all the time.

Also, to my fellow leaders, we are not perfect, we will make mistakes, and that is ok.

Mistakes will happen from time to time.

Learn from them.

Grow from them.

Owen up to your mistakes, there is no shame in that.

Honesty is the best policy.

Lastly, have fun being a leader and never stop growing.

Remember to take breaks and practice self care!
That's it really XD and it really can't be emphasised enough because we can get lost or in too deep with all the roles/duties we have, to remember it at times.

So please take self care everyone and happy listening! ✺◟(^∇^)◞✺✺◟(^∇^)◞✺✺◟(^∇^)◞✺

heart Thank you for the post and appreciation! I'm honored to be a part of this. heart
heart Congratulations to my fellow leaders! You are an inspiration to us. heart

heart I am still learning it, but I'd teach all of you to put yourself first. Truly. If we push too much, we end up worsening our health, capabilities and, in general, everything. Take care of yourself, put yourself as the top priority and do what's best for you. heart

@ASilentObserver

Thank you so much for tagging me in this post! Recently, I have been getting more and more opportunities to practice having an objective mind. When it comes to leadership, it is very important for me to have control over myself and my emotions such that it doesn't come to sway or influence my opinion and my stand on things. Learning this has been greatly paying off! I'm looking to keep learning more and more through my association with 7 cups
